In order to continue to focus on this exclusive blended whisky, Chivas Ragal spared no expense or effort to showcase this special product. To honor the special nature of these whiskies from irreplaceable barrels, the limited blend was bottled in hand-made, crystal-clear decanters by the master craftsmen at Dartington Crystal and is intended to be reminiscent of the iconic Chivas Regal bottle from over a hundred years ago. Furthermore, the bottle is packed in a kind of suitcase, which immediately looks like a secret chest that hides true treasures. The taste of The Icon The different types of barrels in which the individual whiskies matured give the whisky a basic aroma reminiscent of hazelnut. The nose also delights with aromas of honey, juicy pears and notes of dark orange chocolate. The palate now offers a true explosion of aromas, with orange being joined by other fruity components such as peach, and hazelnut also making its presence felt here. Vanilla rounds off the palate and at the same time ushers in a long, sweet finish.

High Commissioner Blended Scotch Whisky 0.7L 40% This blended Scotch whisky High Commissioner embodies in many ways the philosophy that Sandy Bulloch followed during his tenure at Loch Lomond - produced entirely in the self-sufficient Lowland distillery and inexpensive. High Commissioner was well established in the 1970s and was sold in the Scottish chain of stores of A. Bulloch & Co as an age-independent and five-year-old blend. A delicately fruity whisky with a hint of caramel and a touch of peat.

Jameson Black Barrel Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey 0.7L 40% Black Barrel Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey First of all, the Black Barrel is based on the standard bottling of the well-known Jameson whiskey, i.e. a blend of grain and pot still whiskey. The small but very subtle difference then comes in the storage, which takes place in three different types of barrels: American and European oak barrels, as well as double-burned ex-bourbon barrels. The latter also give the 'Black Barrel' its name. The choice of three different barrels gives the Jameson Blend an even deeper, more complex bouquet. Due to the double-burned bourbon barrel, the Black Barrel has significantly smokier notes than one is used to from classic Jameson, but this aroma is not too intrusive; rather, it underlines the wonderful other aromas. These can initially be described as mild and sweet on the nose, and allow us to recognize marzipan and the scent of apricot. A little burnt wood is also noticeable, accompanied by delicate vanilla notes. The mild, slightly sweet character continues on the palate. Apricot can be recognized here again. Now the subtle charred wood notes also come to the fore. The finish then becomes a little more alcoholic, but pleasant wood notes remain in the mouth.

The Naked Malt First Fill Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Famous Grouse As early as the late 1890s, Sir Perthshire began producing the first whisky together with a wine merchant named Matthew Gloag. In order to establish themselves as a brand on the market and to be remembered by people, the two chose the capercaillie, which is widespread in Scotland, as their logo. At that time, the distillery was only known under the name Grouse, and it was not until the beginning of 1905 that the brand name was supplemented with Famous. The Famous Grouse is a blended Scotch that has undergone a maturation phase in selected first fill sherry casks. In addition to products from the Highland Park distillery, the blend also contains whisky from Glenturret and Macallan, among others. The aromas on the nose are reminiscent of dark cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, the aromas of maturation in the sherry cask come through, accompanied by spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. Subtle woody notes and peat are also noticeable in the medium-length finish.

Grand Macnish Blended Whisky Six Casks Edition 1.0L 40% Grand MacNish Grand MacNish has stood for fine blended malt whiskies since 1863. For founder Robert MacNish, all previous whiskies were too 'hard' and he wanted to create a lighter type of whisky. The 'Six Cask' edition represents the six different whisky regions of Scotland, which couldn't be more different. Only the best barrels from each region were selected, resulting in a balanced yet complex Scotch that will completely convince both whisky lovers and newcomers to this field. The aromas The nose initially reveals hints of smoke paired with slightly floral and fruity notes. This is intended to reflect Speyside and Islay. On the palate, the focus is on the character of Campbeltown and the islands, which are embodied by vanilla, toffee and a slight saltiness. Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend 0.7L 46% The origins of the company from the 1920s lie in this blend. In 2012, a British couple made a special discovery in their cellar: a bottle of Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend, dating from sometime between 1924 and 1928. The couple contacted the company, which bought the bottle for the company archives. Inspired by this special discovery, the forgotten blend has now been brought back to life. The Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend can be used to create wonderful cocktail creations. Chivas Regal 15 Year Old XV Blended Whisky 1.0L 40% Chivas History At the very beginning of the 19th century, the brothers James and John Chivas opened a food trading business in Aberdeen. Over time, they began storing whiskeys under their business. When the demand for a smooth whiskey that always tasted the same became more and more frequent, the brothers began blending whiskeys. By the end of the 19th century, the brothers had already managed to sell their blended Scotch whiskeys internationally. Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey Phoenix 1829 Limited Edition 0.5L 55% Tullamore DEW distillery is named after its founder Daniel E. Williams (hence DEW). He worked his way up from stable boy to owner. It is thanks to him that the distillery got electricity and motorized cars and created the whisky with its unmistakable character. His grandson Desmond inherited his courage and determination and revolutionized whisky production by introducing blended whisky. The power of three Since the beginning, this special number has been indispensable. This refers to three points in the production process that cannot be done without: - the use of three types of grain - triple distillation And - the marriage of three different types of whisky: single malt, grain whisky and single pot still whisky. Tullamore Dew Phoenix Limited Edition What is also special is that Tullamore Dew Phoenix is bottled at 55% ABV. Dew Phoenix is intended to commemorate a terrible disaster and the resulting solidarity of the community of Tullamore. In 1785 there was a devastating hot air balloon crash which started a fire that destroyed the entire town. What the fire could not destroy: the solidarity and courage of the residents. They rebuilt the town completely. Since this disaster, a phoenix has appeared on the town's coat of arms as a constant reminder of this. The reconstruction of the city led to the founding of the Tullamore DEW distillery in 1829, and so this number in the name stands for the year the distillery was founded. Tasting notes On the nose, typical malt notes that you would expect from Tullamore. But also vanilla and toffee notes that go perfectly with roasted wood and sherry. The higher alcohol content leaves a spicy pot still taste on the palate. If you add a little water, sweet toffee and floral notes appear that combine with oak tannins. Due to the maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, the whisky has a distinctive aroma: spicy and with a slight sweetness, it hits the nail on the head. Caramel notes and fine sherry tones characterize the taste.

Southern Comfort Black 0.7L 40% Since 1874 The 'Southern Comfort' brand was founded in the early 1870s. Southern Comfort really should be put in quotation marks here, because Heron originally developed the drink from whiskey, local fruits and spices under the name 'Cuffs & Buttons'. It was only years later, out of local patriotism, that this was renamed the brand name we know today, 'Southern Comfort'. Black The new member of the Southern Comfort family is 'Black'. It stands for a more modern and rebellious brand. While the classic Southern Comfort mainly focuses on sweeter notes such as orange, vanilla and popcorn, there is a clear difference with Black. The focus here is definitely on the aroma of whisky. Spicy, strong notes of roasted oak are the first things you notice, closely followed by the well-known vanilla and spice notes of the classic. Nevertheless, it remains to be said that this is still a whisky liqueur and should definitely not be confused, compared or equated with a classic whisky. A small consumption recommendation on top: Pour approx. 6 cl Southern Comfort Black into a whisky glass filled with ice cubes. Now top up with ginger ale and garnish with a slice of fresh ginger.

Islay Journey Blended Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Independent bottler Hunter Laing This time too, the independent bottler Hunter Laing, who has been responsible for fascinating blends since 1949 and is now in the third generation, is hiding behind a blended malt whisky. The Islay Journey is a blend of various Islay malts, most of which matured in bourbon barrels. The taste experience is more influenced by the bitter, smoky notes. The aroma is clearly characterized by smoky notes, citrus and leather, on the palate an intense whisky with notes of peat and seaweed, but also fruity notes such as grapefruit or banana.

Highland Journey Blended Malt Whisky 0.7L 46.2% Hunter Laing The independent bottler Hunter Laing is behind this wonderful Highland Journey Blende Malt. The bottler, who has been responsible for blended Scotch whisky since 1949 in the 3rd generation, has been able to amass a considerable collection of sought-after, old and very rare whisky over the years. These are combined to create wonderful blends and often brought to market as limited editions. One of these outstanding products is the Highland Journey Blended Malt Whisky. The whiskies used for the blend matured partly in bourbon but also in sherry casks, creating a wonderful harmony between herbal and oak notes as well as sweet fruit notes. The nose initially reveals notes of honey and red fruits, followed immediately by vanilla and subtle floral notes. The intense and sophisticated taste is clearly evident on the palate, at first there are fruity, fresh notes, but these then quickly give way to spicy notes of cinnamon and pepper, and the aromas of sherry can also be detected here.

But let us tell you that you most likely know the whisky brand behind Monkey Shoulder. The founder of the brand is none other than the well-known company William Grant & Sons! This is therefore a real Scottish whisky and brings together three of the greatest whisky producers under one roof. These three different distilleries and their different characters are also united in the Monkey Shoulder Blended Whisky. VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky 0.7L 40% VAT 69 - A great whisky classic The Scotch Whisky Vat 69 is as well known as Johnnie Walker, J & B or Black & White. In recent years, the popularity of the Vat 69 Blended Whisky has increased enormously thanks to the TV series "Band of Brothers", but even before that, it was on everyone's lips, literally. The Vat 69 is manufactured in the Scottish capital Edinburgh by the William Sanderson company. The company was founded in Leith in 1863 and was one of the first to offer whisky in bottles. Until then, it was common for pubs and hotels to buy whisky by the barrel and then resell it by the glass. The original shape of the bottle was modeled on a port wine bottle, as these were particularly robust. However, a different bottle format is used for this 0.375 L bottling. William Sanderson began working in the wine and spirits industry at the tender age of 13. At the age of 24, he opened his own business, which his son William Mark Sanderson also joined. Together, the two then decided to bring a new blended Scotch onto the market and started various barrels, which they tasted together with fellow blenders and friends. The participants chose the barrel with the number 69 - VAT 69 - by a large majority. Not only was a great new blended whisky born, but the right name was also found. Teachers Highland Cream Blended Scotch Whisky 0.7L 40% Almost 200 years of Scottish tradition In 1832 the so-called "Excise Act" was passed in Great Britain. This made whisky production much easier for companies and William Teacher decided to bring his own blended whisky onto the market. At first he blended his whiskies in a grocery store that he ran with his wife. Business went well and Teacher was quickly able to open his own "dram shop". It was finally in 1863 that he perfected the recipe and brought Teacher's Highland Cream Whisky onto the market. After their father's death, his two sons William Jr. and Adam Teacher took over the business and in 1876 built the company's headquarters as planned by their father. This building was used by the company until 1991! Single Malt Whisky from Ardmore and Glendronach In order to ensure a supply of high-quality single malt whisky, Teacher's opened the Ardmore distillery in 1899. The smoky style of Ardmore whisky guarantees the strong, full-bodied taste of Teacher's Blend. Due to the high demand, the Glendronach distillery was also acquired in 1957. The history of the whisky brand begins in 1842 in Perth, Scotland. A small grocer and wine merchant called Gloag was commissioned to arrange drinks for a royal banquet with Queen Victoria. Gloag took advantage of this opportunity and developed a flourishing business for blended whiskies. The whisky received its first real brand appearance through Gloag's nephew, who created the famous label with the Scottish red grouse and, in 1905, the appropriate brand name 'Famous Grouse'. Characteristics Most products of a whisky brand always have special characteristics. With Famous Grouse, this is always a fascinating variety, but never over the top. Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan Who hasn't seen the picturesque mountainous region around Mount Fuji in Japan? Tenjaku, not just the name of the whisky, but a town to the east of Kofu, in the Yamanashi region, is a very fertile land. High mountains and, above all, peach orchards and vineyards characterise the landscape. Tenjaku Blended Whisky A wonderful blend of single malt and grain whisky. After distillation, it is diluted with clear mountain spring water to a pleasant drinking strength of 40% vol. Light enjoyment, that is also what the label reflects. It depicts a sign of the harbinger of spring, Hibari, which in German best approximates the word Feldleche. The whisky should also reflect the freshness of spring and light enjoyment. The aroma has subtle smoky notes and a slight sweetness. On the palate, as expected, it is very mild and velvety soft. Vanilla, caramel and honey further refine the taste. Sweet fruit notes and oak notes round off the finish.

Nikka Tailored Blended Whisky 0.7L 43% Whisky from the top segment After the Japanese Msataka Taketsuru discovered his passion for whisky, his desire for more and more knowledge and to learn the art of distilling became so great that he decided to travel to the land of whisky, Scotland, to gain all the knowledge he could about the distillate. Driven by the vision of one day being able to produce his own Japanese whisky, Taketsuru absorbed every knowledge that had anything to do with whisky. After returning from Scotland, it took a few more years, but finally in 1934 he founded his own distillery, the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido. A few years later, a second distillery followed, the Miyagikyo, where he wanted to produce whisky for blending in the Scottish style. Unfortunately, Taketsuru did not live to see much of his true success with the high-quality products, as he died in 1979.
