The Legendary Dark Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey 0.7L 46% The Sliabh Liag Peninsula The Sliabh Liag distillery of the same name is based in the tranquil town of Donegal on the peninsula of Ireland's west coast. The distillery is the first distillery in County Donegal in over 175 years, which was once a major distillery. The new establishment aims to bring this heritage back to life and create something that the entire community can be proud of. They named their whisky after the Irish seal mythical creatures, which, according to legend, are said to transform into irresistibly beautiful women on land. The legendary Dark Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey This whisky is a tribute to the old Donegal whiskies of days long gone. With the new variant of the Legendary Silkie Irish Whisky, the company is breaking new ground and is open to change. For the Silkie Dark Blended Irish Whisky, double-distilled single malts are mixed with triple-distilled, peaty single malts and finally married with soft grain whisky. On the palate it is flattering and very soft. It has a pleasant sweetness that is not too strong.

Black Velvet Blended Canadian Whisky 1.0L 40% Canadian Whisky Some people may also know Black Velvet, which has been around since the 1950s, under the name 'Black Lable'. However, this name was changed quickly after its creation so as not to upset a well-known Scottish competitor, so it is now known under the name 'Black Velvet' and not all that unknown. According to the manufacturer, it is even among the top 5 of its kind worldwide! After the whisky came onto the market, it quickly received a lot of attention and gained popularity and demand. So the distillery had to be expanded and extended promptly; this is the well-known Palliser Distillery in the province of Alberta. As the distillery became successful, so did the range. Other 'colours' came onto the market: In addition to the Red, a Golden Velvet followed, and for the premium and super premium segment, a Regal and a Royal Velvet. These are aimed at specific regional markets and price ranges. Black Velvet Black Velvet is also available in different age variants, so it can happen that it tastes completely different in another country than the one you tasted on holiday, for example. A special feature of Black Velvet is the type of blending: If you compare it with other distilleries, you will see that the 'Blended at Birth' process is used here. In concrete terms, this means that the freshly distilled spirits are married together before the actual maturation in the barrels, which with other whiskies usually only happens after the maturation phase has ended. Black Velvet is probably the best known whisky on the market. The great aroma comes into its own, especially when combined with ice cream. We are talking about a slightly sweet taste of vanilla and butterscotch. The aroma of the rye and corn used also finds its way to the taste buds, where a fearsome, tough orange also spreads. The Black Velvet 1L has a long, soft finish.

Johnnie Walker Island Green Blended Whisky 1.0L 43% New interpretation The new edition of Johnnie Walker's Whisky, Island Green, is a dynamic interpretation of the already well-known 'Green Label' whisky. The focus, however, is on 100% malt whisky, which is a clear difference, as grain whisky is usually used in blended whisky. No Age Statement Whisky An innovation in the whisky world means that whisky can be brought onto the market without an age statement. Otherwise, the age of the youngest whisky contained must always be stated. However, since the Island Green wanted a much smokier taste, and this aroma diminishes with age, an NSA bottling was chosen. You can clearly smell the smokiness with peppery spices and citrus notes. This smoky aroma is even more pronounced on the palate, with some fine nougat and milk chocolate notes mixed in. And other additives that are usually used in whisky after blending, such as chill filtration or color adjustment, have also been omitted in the new Johnnie Walker.

Jameson Triple Triple Irish Whiskey 1.0L 40% Jameson – branded whiskey since 1780 This year John Jameson developed a special method of producing whiskey. It was supposed to be particularly soft and mild. Over 200 years of daring, experience and passion are behind every Jameson bottle that leaves the distillery today. Triple Distilled As with every Jameson whiskey, the basis of this Triple Triple Whiskey is a blend of pot still malted and unmalted barley and grain whiskey, both of which are triple distilled and then matured for at least 4 years each. For the Triple Triple, the distillery adds another triple component on top. In this edition, the blend is not just matured in one type of barrel. Here, three are used again: sherry and bourbon as well as Malaga barrels. All contribute to a great overall picture with their own, unique aromas. However, the distillery does not give any precise information about the maturation time in the various barrels. All good things come in threes The overall impression of the Jameson Triple Triple Whiskey is definitely convincing. However, what is rather unusual for Jamson Whiskeys is the significantly fruitier character. The nose is reminiscent of wine, with a very berry accent, refined with citrus peel, cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, a sweet body, berries, raisins and a touch of spice. Here, too, the association with wine. The finish is also fruity and spicy and has a pleasant length.

The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey 0.7L 46% The myth lives on Like many whiskeys, rums, gins, etc., there is often something profound behind the name of the product. Be it a story about old sailors, tales from war or mythology. The Silkie blended Irish Whisky also uses one of these exciting creatures from old Irish or Scottish folklore. This great blended Irish whiskey is supposed to remind you of a mythological creature with its name and its 'irresistible' taste. According to stories, it lives in the water and resembles a seal there, but on land it transforms into 'irresistible' human-like creatures. 'Irresistible' is also the taste of this blended Irish whiskey, which was distilled and bottled for the Sliabh Liag Distillery - Donegal - Ireland. This is how a whiskey was designed that presents notes of fresh fruit on the nose. These include apricot and white grapes. Malt and honey as well as a floral note ensure a fresh whiskey. On the palate, this fruity part is accompanied by honey or syrup wafers, a little violet and a note reminiscent of perfume. The finish is rather short, a slightly bitter note with oak aroma comes through.

Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan The Nikka distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery based in Yoichi/Hokkaido. The path to this point was not easy - Teketsuru was already forty when he founded his distillery. Taketsuru came to Glasgow as a student in 1918, originally to learn more about brewing beer. Somehow, however, he was more fascinated by the art of whisky and so he continued his studies in this direction. When he returned to Japan, Taketsuru was hired by the second pioneer of Japanese whisky, Shinjiro, as production manager, where he contributed his experience for several years. In 1929, the two of them brought the first Japanese whisky onto the market. It wasn't long before they went their separate ways and Masataka Taketsuru founded his own distillery in 1934 and used it to ensure that whisky became increasingly well-known and popular in Japan. A good thirty years later, a second distillery, the Miyagikyo distillery, was founded. Nikka Days Blended Whisky Nikka Days Whisky is a fine blend of Coffey grain whisky and Miyagikyo single malt whiskies. It matures in bourbon barrels and thus gets its golden yellow color. The aroma of Nikka Blended Whisky is fruity to floral. Notes of orange blossom and pear can be detected on the nose. The taste also reveals sweet caramel and vanilla aromas. Together with a subtle spiciness and fine peat aroma, the components combine to create a true taste experience. A long finish of malty vanilla and apricot notes end in a beautiful aftertaste.

Johnnie Walker The White Walker Blended Whisky 1.0L 41.7% Johnnie Walker – White Walker The idea behind Johnnie Walker White Walker was inspired by the world-famous series 'Game of Thrones'. In it, an army of White Walkers goes to war against the supposedly good guys in the series. A lot of effort has been put into the bottle design to put the fine blend in the spotlight even more: The highlight becomes apparent when you store the bottle in the freezer; the fine cracks in the ice grow larger and the most famous sentence from the series appears: 'Winter is Here'. This special edition was created by Johnnie Walker's small blending team in collaboration with George Harper. Taste of White Walker's In terms of taste, the Scotch is more on the berry side. Notes of vanilla harmonize perfectly with caramel, red berries and other fruits from the orchard. Johnnie Walker is a finely tuned blend from two of the northernmost distilleries in Scotland: the Cardhu and Clynelish distilleries. When selecting the distilleries, the blenders naturally had something special in mind. The two distilleries in the icy north have had to endure long Scottish winters, just like the 'Night Watch' in the Game of Thrones series. Enjoy Johnnie Walker White Walker neat and ice cold! Jameson Irish Whiskey Caskmates IPA Edition 1.0L 40% Jameson Whisky Jameson stands for Irish whiskey and an Irish company that is characterized by great tradition. The beginnings of the distillery are not that far away. The Jameson company has only existed in its current form since 1968. Before that, the history goes back a long way, to the year 1780. This is the official founding date. A Scotsman named John Jameson is named as the 'founding father'. He married the Stein's daughter and together they emigrated to Ireland in 1770. Their son took over the Bow Street distillery, while his brother William acquired the Marrowbone distillery. Both distilleries merged with the last remaining distilleries, Power and Cork Distilleries, to form IDG in 1966 and production was discontinued. The Irish Distillers Group opened in Midleton, Cork in 1975. It has been part of the Pernod Ricard Group since 1988. Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition Irish Whisky This new Jameson whisky primarily retains the soft characteristics that one is used to from a whisky of this brand. It has only been expanded to include a few aromas in the taste. These include coffee beans, cocoa, toffee and hops! The aromas on the nose and palate are really special. On the nose, first floral hops, some grapefruit and/or citrus notes rounded off by woody, nutty aromas. The full aromas then reveal themselves on the palate. The hops and citrus notes, which give the whisky a bit of freshness, can be clearly tasted. These are accompanied by spicy herbal tones. In the finish, the very present hops and fruit notes give way to a fine barley taste and make the aftertaste soft and persistent. This IPA whisky is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks or with a beer. For the really crazy, there are also 'beer cocktails' in which the IPA Caskmates works very well. One of these comes from Paul Thompson from the Ona Mor Bar in Cologne. His drink "Fassbruder" consists of the Jameson Caskmates, sugar syrup, lemon juice and beer. In summary, if you are a big fan of new, interesting beers in addition to whisky, then the Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition Irish Whisky is the right choice!

Bushmills Irish Whisky Steamship collection Port Cask Reserve Limited Release 0.7L 40% World's oldest distillery The history of the Bushmills distillery goes back to the 17th century. At that time, King James I granted the landowner and governor of County Antrim in Ireland a license to distill. A good two centuries later, the Old Bushmills distillery was officially registered by Hugh Anderson. Pot style became a registered trademark and is still a trademark today. In 1885, the distillery was surprised by a major fire and everything burned down. But since the people were all closely connected, they pulled together and the Bushmills distillery was quickly rebuilt. After this disaster, the company was stronger than ever and this was reflected in the whisky too, as in the years preceding the 1880s to the early 1900s, the company won many international prizes and explored new markets by sea. A good 10 years before the repeal of Prohibition in 1930, Samuel Wilson bought the distillery with the firm belief that one day he would hit the jackpot - and he was right! After a brief shutdown and bombing raids during the war, production resumed in the 1950s and took off better than ever, with exports to America in particular driving business forward. Anniversary The Bushmills Irish Whisky Steamchip collection was produced to mark the anniversary of the SS Bushmills steamship. It set out on its maiden voyage to trade whisky in 1890. From Bushmills the journey continued to America, where they stopped in Philadelphia and New York before travelling on to Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. They took a variety of barrels full of spirits with them, which they used to their advantage and stored the whisky in different ways. The Port Cask Reserve Limited Release is a continuation of the existing Steamship collection, which already includes Sherry Reserve and Bourbon Reserve. Ruby port barrels were used for the Port Cask for the second Steamship Edition. The taste At first it is a little milder than expected, but then you are surprised by notes of roasted oak, spices and a pleasant aftertaste of ripe plums, cherries and almonds. The aftertaste is long, slightly sweet and perfectly round.

Suntory Blended Japanese Whisky Toki 0.7L 43% The House of Suntory In 1923, the founding house of Japanese whisky was founded by Shinjiro Torii. He wanted to produce a whisky that combined the tradition of Japanese craftsmanship and the essence of Japanese nature. Initially, he was inspired by the good Scottish whisky that was known worldwide until then. However, he quickly found a Japanese approach that was completely different in climate and region from those in Scotland. Torii chose the Yamazaki region, on the outskirts of Kyoto, which is known for being the source of some of the purest water, making it the perfect basis for an exceptionally good whisky. Since its founding, Suntory has become the most awarded Japanese whisky company thanks to its artisanal production in its distilleries and its select blenders. Suntory is primarily known for its outstanding single malts, but every now and then it also produces a very good blend. 'Toki' is one of these blends and consists of specially selected whiskies from the world-famous Hakushu, Yamazaki and Chita distilleries, all of which come from Suntory. Hakushu chose Hakushu American White Oak Cask Malt Whisky, along with Chita Heavy-Type Grain Whiskey. Both have special aromas, the Hakushu, for example, has fresh, green apple tones, while the Chita whisky has the more typical notes of vanilla and oak. Grain whiskies also play a role. The golden tone of the whisky immediately catches the eye. You immediately realize that this bottle contains a very special curd. The main notes on the nose are basil, which is quite unusual for a whisky, but harmonizes perfectly with those of green apple and honey. Sweet, malty grain notes are also added. The palate is beautifully balanced and the sweetness of the nose remains here, along with juicy citrus notes, and the smoky oak is also a bit more dominant here. Suntory Whisky Toki is a rather light and gentle whisky that is definitely worth trying.

Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Liqueur 1.0L 35% Valleyfield, Quebec/Canada Since Canadian whiskeys have achieved a high status among connoisseurs, it is no wonder that this exceptional, flavoured whiskey liqueur comes from Canada. The flavouring process was copied from spiced rum and flavoured vodka. Black Velvet was bottled for the first time in 1955, but the history of Black Velvet goes back much further, to the times of the Second World War. There it was produced by Schenley Industries, which had its headquarters in the Empire State Building in New York. At that time, however, this whisky was still known under the name 'Black Label'. However, after master distiller Jack Napier tried the first whisky, he realised that a more expressive title was needed. He decided to choose a different name and the whisky was from then on known as 'Black Velvet' to emphasise its velvety character. In addition to rye, grain and corn, crystal-clear mountain water from Canada is also used for Black Velvet Whisky. It is already exported to more than 50 countries and is particularly popular in America. Pure Caramel The toffee and cream notes complement the woody whiskey aromas excellently. The nose is dominated by caramel, and the palate is full-bodied and lush. Anyone who thinks that this flavoured whiskey can only taste sweet with so many caramel and toffee notes is wrong. Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Whiskey scores with a pleasant, balanced sweetness and subtle pepper notes. The aftertaste is very creamy and has a long-lasting toffee taste. A really successful combination that you should definitely try. The Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Liqueur is based on the original Black Velvet Whiskey and has been flavored with roasted caramel. This added sweetness makes this Black Velvet more of a liqueur than a classic whiskey and is therefore ideal for cocktails. But there is absolutely nothing that can be said against the pure enjoyment of Black Velvet Toasted Caramel.

Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky 0.7L 40% The history of Suntory If you list the largest spirits companies in the world, you can't ignore the Japanese company Suntory. Suntory's portfolio includes renowned brands such as the Scottish single malt distillery Bowmore and it can look back on a long history, which we would like to briefly tell you about. The foundation stone for today's Suntory Group was laid by Shinjirō Torii, who was only 20 years old at the time and opened a shop under the name Torii Shoten in 1899. Shinjirō Torii initially concentrated on importing and selling Spanish wines and brought a type of port wine onto the market under the name "Akadama". A few years later, he had an idea in his head that never left him: producing his own whisky! For this reason, in 1923 he hired the young and very talented chemist Masataka Taketsure, who had studied in Scotland and had already gained experience in distilleries. Together they opened Japan's first distillery in the Yamazaki Valley and almost simultaneously introduced the brand name "Suntory", which refers to the Japanese national symbol of the rising sun. The Kakubin Blend was finally introduced in 1937 and has long been considered the best known and best-selling Japanese blended whisky on the market. The taste of the Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky There are various blends under the name Suntory Kakubin, but the Yellow Label Whisky is the most important. While Shinjirō Torii initially concentrated on importing and selling Spanish wines, a few years later he decided to create his own single malt whisky. At about the same time, the name "Suntory" was first mentioned as a brand name, which refers to the Japanese national symbol of the rising sun. The Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky is matured in ex-bourbon whiskey casks. On the nose, the Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky shows fine notes of caramel, freshly baked bread and caramel. Malty aromas and nuances of cinnamon and the spice of oak are revealed on the palate. The finish is medium-long and delicately sweet and slightly fruity. As a fine example of a light Japanese blend, the Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky is ideal for drinking neat or as an ingredient in cocktails, long drinks and highballs.

Togouchi Japanese Blended Whisky Kiwami 0.7L 40% Background information on Togouchi Kiwami: In the now difficult to keep track of the whisky market, it is very difficult for many manufacturers and producers to get attention. Unique selling points are becoming increasingly rare and can only be made clear to the customer with great effort. It is therefore a great help if you can tell an interesting story about the production of your whisky. The best example of this is the Japanese whisky producer Togouchi, which has operated its own distillery on the main island of Honshu since 1918. The so-called Chugoku Jozo distillery initially produced typical Japanese specialties such as fruit liqueurs, sake or the high-proof brandy shochu. Following their love of whisky, they finally began creating their own product in 1990. It should be noted, however, that Togouchi does not distill the whisky itself but buys various individual distillates from Canada and Scotland. A harmonious composition is then created from these in Japan. Since Japanese whisky makers are famous worldwide for their blending skills, it is not surprising that all of Togouchi's qualities have a complex and extremely sublime taste profile and have received numerous awards. What makes Togouchi whiskies unique and unmistakable, however, is the extraordinary maturation process. All whiskies are stored in a 361 m long, disused railway tunnel that runs through massive mountain rock. There, a constant temperature of 15 °C and constant humidity prevail all year round, i.e. optimal conditions for whisky maturation. The Chugoku Jozo distillery showcases the pinnacle of its art with the Togouchi Kiwami. The strictly limited special edition was only released on the French market. Fortunately, a few bottles made it to our shop. The Togouchi Kiwami is a blended whisky made from Canadian grain whisky and Scottish single malt that has been aged for many years. The aroma and flavor profile shows a typically Scottish character and a harmonious lightness, which clearly indicates a high malt content. Taste of the Togouchi Kiwami: As soon as you open the elegant clay bottle, beguiling aromas rise to the nose. A balanced composition of delicate sweetness, fruitiness and pleasant spiciness appears. Herbal notes then initially emerge in the nosing. Coriander, rosemary and lavender are present until citrus fruits, vanilla and heather honey come to the fore. An intense oak spice forms an unobtrusive base. Overall, the Togouchi Kiwami impresses with a full, extremely complex bouquet and a refreshing lightness that is also continued in the taste. On the tongue, the Togouchi Kiwami delights with a strong, intense start. Vanilla, caramel, candied orange peel, pickled ginger and raisins are accompanied by a full oak load. In the background, there are even subtle hints of smoke that blend wonderfully into the complex interplay. The finish is full-bodied and warming and remains on the tongue and palate for a long time. With the Togouchi Kiwami, the Japanese manufacturer has succeeded in creating a truly successful product that elegantly combines the advantages of Scottish whisky with Japanese blending art.

The gentle character in combination with the fresh, fruity bouquet and the mild taste always inspires enthusiasm. And that applies to long-time connoisseurs and beginners alike. The Japanese whisky makers are known for their meticulousness, hard work and sense of tradition. This gives them a veritable reputation. The true skill, however, manifests itself in the incomparable blending art of the Japanese. In no other country in the world are such balanced and extremely harmonious whiskies created by mixing different individual distillates. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony falls into exactly that category, which is not surprising when you consider the name. Famous Grouse Blended Scotch Whisky Smoky Black 1.0L 40% History and production of the Famous Grouse Smoky Black: The long history of The Famous Grouse began at the end of the 19th century. In 1986, Matthew Gloag, whose father also worked in the whisky industry, developed a harmonious, fruity blended whisky that was soon to be a success. At that time still called "The Grouse Blend", the word famous was later added to the blended whisky. 43 million bottles are now sold worldwide every year in a total of 93 countries, and the trend is rising. The company remained family-owned until 1970, but then had to be sold to Highland Distillers, which today belongs to the Edrington Group. Matthew Gloag's signature still adorns every bottle of The Famous Grouse. Belonging to a large whisky company has the critical advantage that The Famous Grouse contains many top-class whiskies. In addition to Macallan and Highland Park, this also includes Glenturret, which comes from the oldest distillery still in operation in Scotland. The Famouse Grouse's portfolio includes a large number of different bottlings. Particularly interesting is the newly released Famous Grouse Smoky Black, which is the successor to the popular The Black Grouse.
