Gin
Gin was first known as a medicine for stomach problems in the 15th century, before the British imported jenever from the Netherlands in the 16th century. It was not until the early 19th century that gin developed into a respected drink, when production guidelines were established. The base consists of grain and must have an alcohol content of at least 37.5% by volume according to EU standards. The addition of spices (botanicals) is particularly important, especially juniper, as well as various herbs, roots and fruits, depending on the variety.

FAQs
- Can you give me information about the origin and production of your spirits?
-
We attach great importance to transparency and quality. Our spirits come from selected producers from different regions of the world. We are happy to provide you with detailed information on the origin of the raw materials, production processes and special features of each individual spirit.
- What flavor profiles and recommendations do you have for your products?
-
Every spirit has its own unique aromas and taste profiles. We are happy to help you find the right product for your taste. Our experts are on hand to make recommendations, whether for classic cocktails, new discoveries or gifts.
- Do you offer special editions, limited editions or exclusive products?
-
In addition to our standard range, we regularly stock special editions, limited editions and exclusive products. These often offer unique taste experiences and are ideal for collectors or for special occasions. Contact us for information about our current special offers and novelties.
- Do you have a store where I can pick up the goods?
-
Drinkology is an online store only. Unfortunately, you cannot collect goods from us.
- Which shipping service provider do you work with?
-
In Germany we work with UPS/DHL or DPD. Shipments abroad are only sent with UPS.
- My goods were damaged during shipping. What should I do?
-
We always try to pack our goods in such a way that they are not damaged during transportation. Unfortunately, this cannot always be avoided. If you notice that something is wrong when you receive the parcel, e.g. different adhesive tape, the box is wet, please refuse to accept it. We will then get the parcel back and arrange for a new shipment. If you have accepted the parcel and then discover damage, please take pictures of the parcel and the damaged goods and contact us. We will then clarify the next steps with you.
- My drink doesn't taste good. Can I send it back and get a refund?
-
We cannot take back opened bottles. Taste is different for everyone and we cannot guarantee the taste.
- Can I deliver goods to my hotel while I am in Germany?
-
Yes, that is possible. However, discuss with your hotel whether they are prepared to accept packages for you. Also allow for a waiting period. It is best to stay at the hotel for several days so that they are flexible with deliveries. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee deliveries on a specific day and time.
- I was not at home during the delivery of the parcel service. What happens now?
-
Unfortunately, sometimes you are not at home. Your parcel is often ready for collection at an Access Point or post office. Sometimes the parcel is also returned to us. If we receive the parcel back, we can send it to you again. However, we will then have to charge you shipping costs again. In the event of a refund or withdrawal, we reserve the right to retain the shipping costs.
