The man himself: Foundation and establishment of the Drinkology online shop

What does a bartender do when he desperately seeks the best ingredients for his exclusive cocktails? Ideally, he starts his own spirits online shop. This is precisely what happened in 2008 in Munich, where Stephan Berg founded the online shop Drinkology. An online shop that focuses not only on offering high-proof spirits but also on high-quality ones.

What was born out of necessity soon proved to be a welcome addition for gastronomy and private customers from home and abroad. Connoisseurs who appreciate imaginative aperitifs and digestifs as well as delicious liqueurs, exquisite whisky, or pure vodka, will find the right spirits offers at Drinkology. Thus, the small and selected range with which the founder initially started his spirits online shop was gradually expanded to include other beverages such as vermouth and brandy, port wine, and sherry.

Finally, with the own brand "The Bitter Truth," Stephan Berg, known for his virtuoso skills as a bartender, succeeded in creating various cocktail bitters that refine the taste experience.

The bittersweet truth, however, was that such a successful online store for upscale drinking culture cannot be run as a sideline. In 2014, Stephan Berg therefore decided to hand over his beloved online store to worthy successors. Since then, they have continued to run it bilingually with the same enthusiasm and passion for exquisite spirits.

At Drinkology, sophisticated drinking culture also meets a special proximity to the wishes and concerns of the customers. “Because,” summarize the owners, ”every customer is different and every drink has its own characteristics”.
