History and production of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony:

Japanese whiskies are undeniably trendy. The gentle character in combination with the fresh, fruity bouquet and the mild taste always inspires enthusiasm. And that applies to long-time connoisseurs and beginners alike.

The Japanese whisky makers are known for their meticulousness, hard work and sense of tradition. This gives them a veritable reputation.

The true skill, however, manifests itself in the incomparable blending art of the Japanese. In no other country in the world are such balanced and extremely harmonious whiskies created by mixing different individual distillates.

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony falls into exactly that category, which is not surprising when you consider the name. For production, the company's own grain and single malt whiskies are combined in an elegant way. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is therefore a perfect introduction to Japanese whisky culture.

The constant striving for perfection for the Japanese whisky masters goes far beyond the actual production of the whisky. Therefore, the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is presented in a glass bottle designed with great attention to detail. The 24 finely ground facets on the outside symbolize the seasons of the lunar calendar and the label is made of handmade Echizen paper. This visually underlines the magnificent taste and the external appearance corresponds to the high-quality contents.

Taste of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony:

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony flows into the glass highly viscous and elegant. The color is reminiscent of polished amber and shimmers wonderfully in the backlight. Rich aromas of rose petals, lavender, apples, pears, cherries and lychees are interwoven on the nose. In the background, there is also a slightly herbal note with hints of rosemary, thyme and coriander. Spicy oak rounds off the aroma wonderfully elegantly and at the same time provides additional complexity.

On the tongue, the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is wonderfully soft and gentle. Delicate notes of honey, vanilla, candied fruit, oranges and dark chocolate come to the fore and are supported by a solid oak base.

The finish of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is comparatively long and full-bodied. The pleasant sweetness remains, and hints of coconut and a great spiciness also appear.

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony lives up to its name and is a perfect example of the elegance and complexity of Japanese blended whiskies.

Suntory Whisky The Chita 0,7L 43%
Suntory Whisky The Chita 0,7L 43%
Suntory Whisky The Chita 0.7L 43% The little exotic Almost everyone knows that a good whisky comes from Scotland or Ireland. However, it is often single malt whisky and not the rarer single grain. The exotic Suntory The Chita is one of the few Japanese single grain whiskies that can easily keep up with the main whiskey producers. Suntory has established itself as an independent bottler for over 100 years and enjoys a professional and high-quality reputation. Fascinating combination The unmalted grain used for the single grain whisky comes from the region around Chita. The distillery of the same name, which has only existed since the 1970s, is located in the port of Nagoya. Chita is a pure grain distillery. Grains are produced here and stored separately for some time in white oak barrels, Spanish oak barrels and old port wine barrels, thus producing the blended Suntory The Chita. This spirit is fascinating on the one hand because of the combination of different types of maturation and on the other hand because of its rare occurrence on the German spirits market. Originally the whisky was only intended for the local and not the European market. If you take a closer look In terms of aroma, the Suntory The Chita is predominantly fruity. It is very charming and has an inviting freshness. Melons and citrus fruits marry with a sweet undertone of fine honey. Cornflakes and cereals are the typical flavor carriers for a single grain whisky and set the tone for an unmistakable taste. In the glass the whisky is golden brown and slightly oily. In the mouth the Suntory whisky unfolds a wide range of aromas such as vanilla, honey and muffins. A floral hint passes through the taste buds, accompanied by a nuance of fresh fruit. The finish reveals the strong side of the complex distillate. It is also very long-lasting and intense. Suntory The Chita is best enjoyed neat or on ice. In a cocktail, this rarity would almost be wasted.

Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan The Nikka distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery based in Yoichi/Hokkaido. The path to this point was not easy - Teketsuru was already forty when he founded his distillery. Taketsuru came to Glasgow as a student in 1918, originally to learn more about brewing beer. Somehow, however, he was more fascinated by the art of whisky and so he continued his studies in this direction. When he returned to Japan, Taketsuru was hired by the second pioneer of Japanese whisky, Shinjiro, as production manager, where he contributed his experience for several years. In 1929, the two of them brought the first Japanese whisky onto the market. It wasn't long before they went their separate ways and Masataka Taketsuru founded his own distillery in 1934 and used it to ensure that whisky became increasingly well-known and popular in Japan. A good thirty years later, a second distillery, the Miyagikyo distillery, was founded. Nikka Days Blended Whisky Nikka Days Whisky is a fine blend of Coffey grain whisky and Miyagikyo single malt whiskies. It matures in bourbon barrels and thus gets its golden yellow color. The aroma of Nikka Blended Whisky is fruity to floral. Notes of orange blossom and pear can be detected on the nose. The taste also reveals sweet caramel and vanilla aromas. Together with a subtle spiciness and fine peat aroma, the components combine to create a true taste experience. A long finish of malty vanilla and apricot notes end in a beautiful aftertaste.

Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi, 0,7L, 45%
Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi, 0,7L 45%
Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 45% The history of Nikka Whisky The Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi is produced by the Nikka beverage company in Japan. Its origins go back to 1934, when the then forty-year-old Japanese Masataka Taketsuru founded the Nikka company. The young Taketsuru went to Glasgow as a student in 1918 to study brewing technology. However, he soon realized that his passion was whisky and so he continued his studies in the Craggellachie, Lagavulin and Hazelburn distilleries, where he learned the art of distilling. After several years of teaching, he returned to Japan with his Scottish wife, whom he had married in the meantime, and took a job as production manager at the Yamazaki Distillery. Yamazaki was the first and only distillery in Japan at the time, and together with its boss Shinjiro Torii, Taketsuru brought the first whisky from Japan onto the market in 1929. Five years later, they parted ways and Masataka Taketsuru set up his own business with the Nikka Distillery. He got himself a small pot still and chose the small town of Yoichi on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido as the location for the Nikka distillery. The climatic conditions in Yoichi are similar to those in Scotland, which is why he found all the raw materials necessary for the production of Nikka whisky in the best quality. In 1940, Taketsuru was finally able to officially bring the first Nikka whisky onto the market, but had to cease production during the Second World War. After the end of the war, Nikka whisky went steadily uphill. Nikka now has several distilleries and is the second best-selling whisky in the country. The production of the Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi The Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi is still produced in the original Nikka distillery in Yoichi. There it is produced in a very traditional way using the methods learned by Masataka Taketsuru in Scotland. The pot stills in Yoichi, for example, are fired with charcoal and the whisky is then carefully stored in oak barrels and finally bottled at a strong 45% ABV. The taste of the Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi The Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi is probably one of the most typical whiskies from Nikka. On the nose, the Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi has a delicate smoky aroma and pleasant fruity notes. On the palate, the Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi presents fine malty aromas that end in a silky smooth aftertaste. We recommend the Nikka Single Malt Whisky Yoichi to anyone who wants to approach Japanese whisky in an uncomplicated way.

Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan Who hasn't seen the picturesque mountainous region around Mount Fuji in Japan? Tenjaku, not just the name of the whisky, but a town to the east of Kofu, in the Yamanashi region, is a very fertile land. High mountains and, above all, peach orchards and vineyards characterise the landscape. Tenjaku Blended Whisky A wonderful blend of single malt and grain whisky. After distillation, it is diluted with clear mountain spring water to a pleasant drinking strength of 40% vol. Light enjoyment, that is also what the label reflects. It depicts a sign of the harbinger of spring, Hibari, which in German best approximates the word Feldleche. The whisky should also reflect the freshness of spring and light enjoyment. The aroma has subtle smoky notes and a slight sweetness. On the palate, as expected, it is very mild and velvety soft. Vanilla, caramel and honey further refine the taste. Sweet fruit notes and oak notes round off the finish.

Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0,7L
Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0,7L 43%
Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0.7L 43% Japanese Whisky Japan is a rather unusual country for whisky. If the country is the last thing you associate with Scottish or Irish spirits, it is all the more surprising to learn that Japan has been on the rise when it comes to whisky in recent years and should not be underestimated! A manufacturer from Japan that is one of the global spirits players Suntory is Hakushu. Along with Yamazaki, the distillery is one of only two distilleries that produce Japanese single malt whisky for the group. Both distilleries are characterized by the fact that they have a large number of different stills. This means that both distilleries can produce many different whiskies with individual characters, which can then be blended later. Hakushu Distillers Reserve Hakushu Distillers Reserve is exactly such a blend. The special thing that sets Hakushu whisky apart from products from the Yamauaki distillery is that the whisky is often smoked before the actual distillation process. This gives the whisky from the Hakushu distillery a pleasant smoky aroma. This is so subtle in the Distillers Reserve that you can hardly notice it. It is mainly aromas such as vanilla, green apples and a kind of cucumber aroma that pamper the taste buds. A little malt can also be detected in the background alongside lemon. In the finish, a little smoky aroma is also initially more noticeable, but fades again quite quickly and leaves behind memories of a fruity, tangy summer whisky.
