Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky 0,7L 43%
Hibiki Suntory Whisky Japanese Harmony 0,7L 43%
Hibiki Suntory Whisky Japanese Harmony 0.7L 43% History and production of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony: Japanese whiskies are undeniably trendy. The gentle character in combination with the fresh, fruity bouquet and the mild taste always inspires enthusiasm. And that applies to long-time connoisseurs and beginners alike. The Japanese whisky makers are known for their meticulousness, hard work and sense of tradition. This gives them a veritable reputation. The true skill, however, manifests itself in the incomparable blending art of the Japanese. In no other country in the world are such balanced and extremely harmonious whiskies created by mixing different individual distillates. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony falls into exactly that category, which is not surprising when you consider the name. For production, the company's own grain and single malt whiskies are combined in an elegant way. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is therefore a perfect introduction to Japanese whisky culture. The constant striving for perfection for the Japanese whisky masters goes far beyond the actual production of the whisky. Therefore, the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is presented in a glass bottle designed with great attention to detail. The 24 finely ground facets on the outside symbolize the seasons of the lunar calendar and the label is made of handmade Echizen paper. This visually underlines the magnificent taste and the external appearance corresponds to the high-quality contents. Taste of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony: The Hibiki Japanese Harmony flows into the glass highly viscous and elegant. The color is reminiscent of polished amber and shimmers wonderfully in the backlight. Rich aromas of rose petals, lavender, apples, pears, cherries and lychees are interwoven on the nose. In the background, there is also a slightly herbal note with hints of rosemary, thyme and coriander. Spicy oak rounds off the aroma wonderfully elegantly and at the same time provides additional complexity. On the tongue, the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is wonderfully soft and gentle. Delicate notes of honey, vanilla, candied fruit, oranges and dark chocolate come to the fore and are supported by a solid oak base. The finish of the Hibiki Japanese Harmony is comparatively long and full-bodied. The pleasant sweetness remains, and hints of coconut and a great spiciness also appear. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony lives up to its name and is a perfect example of the elegance and complexity of Japanese blended whiskies.

Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky, 0,7L
Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky, 0,7L 40%
Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky 0.7L 40% The history of Suntory The Japanese company Suntory is one of the five largest spirits companies in the world and can look back on an impressive history. Suntory was founded in 1899 by Shinjirō Torii, who was just 20 years old at the time and opened a shop under the name Torii Shoten. While Shinjirō Torii initially concentrated on importing and selling Spanish wines, a few years later he decided to create his own single malt whisky. In 1923 he hired the young and talented chemist Masataka Taketsuru, who had studied in Scotland, and together with him opened the country's first distillery in the Yamazaki Valley. At about the same time, the name "Suntory" was first mentioned as a brand name, which refers to the Japanese national symbol of the rising sun. In 1937, the Kakubin Blend was finally launched for the first time, and has long been the No. 1 blended whisky in Japan. The road to market leadership was rocky, however, and only succeeded in the 1950s/60s when Suntory attracted attention with innovative marketing campaigns. The taste of the Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky Kakubin - which translates as "square bottle" - is bottled in various qualities, with the "White Label" offered here being considered somewhat drier and lighter than the better-known "Yellow Label" variant. The Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky is matured in ex-bourbon whiskey casks. On the nose, the Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky shows fine notes of caramel, freshly baked bread and caramel. Malty aromas and nuances of cinnamon and the spice of oak are revealed on the palate. The finish is medium-long and delicately sweet and slightly fruity. As a fine example of a light Japanese blend, the Suntory Kakubin White Label Whisky is ideal for drinking neat or as an ingredient in cocktails, long drinks and highballs.

Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky, 0,7L
Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky, 0,7L 40%
Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky 0.7L 40% The history of Suntory If you list the largest spirits companies in the world, you can't ignore the Japanese company Suntory. Suntory's portfolio includes renowned brands such as the Scottish single malt distillery Bowmore and it can look back on a long history, which we would like to briefly tell you about. The foundation stone for today's Suntory Group was laid by Shinjirō Torii, who was only 20 years old at the time and opened a shop under the name Torii Shoten in 1899. Shinjirō Torii initially concentrated on importing and selling Spanish wines and brought a type of port wine onto the market under the name "Akadama". A few years later, he had an idea in his head that never left him: producing his own whisky! For this reason, in 1923 he hired the young and very talented chemist Masataka Taketsure, who had studied in Scotland and had already gained experience in distilleries. Together they opened Japan's first distillery in the Yamazaki Valley and almost simultaneously introduced the brand name "Suntory", which refers to the Japanese national symbol of the rising sun. The Kakubin Blend was finally introduced in 1937 and has long been considered the best known and best-selling Japanese blended whisky on the market. The taste of the Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label Whisky There are various blends under the name Suntory Kakubin, but the Yellow Label Whisky is the most important. It was matured in former bourbon whiskey barrels and appears in the glass in a strong golden color. On the nose it shows fine, sweet aromas of dried fruit as well as nuances of oak, malt and vanilla. On the palate, the Suntory Kakubin Yellow Label whisky is very complex with notes of freshly baked bread, tobacco and again vanilla. The aftertaste is medium-length and pleasantly smooth. Ideal for cocktails and long drinks!

Suntory Blended Japanese Whisky Toki 0,7L 43%
Suntory Blended Japanese Whisky Toki 0,7L 43%
Suntory Blended Japanese Whisky Toki 0.7L 43% The House of Suntory In 1923, the founding house of Japanese whisky was founded by Shinjiro Torii. He wanted to produce a whisky that combined the tradition of Japanese craftsmanship and the essence of Japanese nature. Initially, he was inspired by the good Scottish whisky that was known worldwide until then. However, he quickly found a Japanese approach that was completely different in climate and region from those in Scotland. Torii chose the Yamazaki region, on the outskirts of Kyoto, which is known for being the source of some of the purest water, making it the perfect basis for an exceptionally good whisky. Since its founding, Suntory has become the most awarded Japanese whisky company thanks to its artisanal production in its distilleries and its select blenders. Suntory is primarily known for its outstanding single malts, but every now and then it also produces a very good blend. 'Toki' is one of these blends and consists of specially selected whiskies from the world-famous Hakushu, Yamazaki and Chita distilleries, all of which come from Suntory. Hakushu chose Hakushu American White Oak Cask Malt Whisky, along with Chita Heavy-Type Grain Whiskey. Both have special aromas, the Hakushu, for example, has fresh, green apple tones, while the Chita whisky has the more typical notes of vanilla and oak. Grain whiskies also play a role. The golden tone of the whisky immediately catches the eye. You immediately realize that this bottle contains a very special curd. The main notes on the nose are basil, which is quite unusual for a whisky, but harmonizes perfectly with those of green apple and honey. Sweet, malty grain notes are also added. The palate is beautifully balanced and the sweetness of the nose remains here, along with juicy citrus notes, and the smoky oak is also a bit more dominant here. Suntory Whisky Toki is a rather light and gentle whisky that is definitely worth trying.

Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Nikka Days Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan The Nikka distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery based in Yoichi/Hokkaido. The path to this point was not easy - Teketsuru was already forty when he founded his distillery. Taketsuru came to Glasgow as a student in 1918, originally to learn more about brewing beer. Somehow, however, he was more fascinated by the art of whisky and so he continued his studies in this direction. When he returned to Japan, Taketsuru was hired by the second pioneer of Japanese whisky, Shinjiro, as production manager, where he contributed his experience for several years. In 1929, the two of them brought the first Japanese whisky onto the market. It wasn't long before they went their separate ways and Masataka Taketsuru founded his own distillery in 1934 and used it to ensure that whisky became increasingly well-known and popular in Japan. A good thirty years later, a second distillery, the Miyagikyo distillery, was founded. Nikka Days Blended Whisky Nikka Days Whisky is a fine blend of Coffey grain whisky and Miyagikyo single malt whiskies. It matures in bourbon barrels and thus gets its golden yellow color. The aroma of Nikka Blended Whisky is fruity to floral. Notes of orange blossom and pear can be detected on the nose. The taste also reveals sweet caramel and vanilla aromas. Together with a subtle spiciness and fine peat aroma, the components combine to create a true taste experience. A long finish of malty vanilla and apricot notes end in a beautiful aftertaste.

Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0,7L 40%
Tenjaku Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% Japan Who hasn't seen the picturesque mountainous region around Mount Fuji in Japan? Tenjaku, not just the name of the whisky, but a town to the east of Kofu, in the Yamanashi region, is a very fertile land. High mountains and, above all, peach orchards and vineyards characterise the landscape. Tenjaku Blended Whisky A wonderful blend of single malt and grain whisky. After distillation, it is diluted with clear mountain spring water to a pleasant drinking strength of 40% vol. Light enjoyment, that is also what the label reflects. It depicts a sign of the harbinger of spring, Hibari, which in German best approximates the word Feldleche. The whisky should also reflect the freshness of spring and light enjoyment. The aroma has subtle smoky notes and a slight sweetness. On the palate, as expected, it is very mild and velvety soft. Vanilla, caramel and honey further refine the taste. Sweet fruit notes and oak notes round off the finish.

The Matsui Mizunara Cask Japanese Single Malt Whisky 0,7L 48%
The Matsui Mizunara Cask Japanese Single Malt Whisky 0,7L 48%
The Matsui Mizunara Cask Japanese Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 48% Kurayoshi Distillery With the Mizunara Cask Whisky, the Japanese distillery is presenting its first whisky that was not only bottled in Japan, but also fired and distilled there! After the distillation process, as with other whiskies, the maturation phase naturally followed. For this, however, the distillery did not leave it to mature in bourbon barrels like most whiskies; here too, local products were used and barrels made of Mizunara wood were used. This wood is extremely rare and so it is difficult to process into a barrel. By storing the whisky in this type of wood, it acquires its own unique aroma and stands out clearly from the crowd. The design of the label was also something special. Not only is it designed like an old parchment sheet, but it also features a special print: Mount Fuji is depicted with a red crowned crane, which is native to Japan. It symbolizes freshness and the special oriental character that the whisky is meant to reflect.

The Matsui The Peated Malt Whisky 0,7L 48%
The Matsui The Peated Malt Whisky 0,7L 48%
The Matsui The Peated Malt Whisky 0.7L 48% Japanese influences In order to always create a new taste, the distillery relies on the cooperation of whisky lovers and taste professionals. Nothing is left to chance here. In addition to the subtropical climate, which is caused by the proximity to the Sea of Japan, and the specially shaped copper stills, the choice of barrel type plays a significant role in the taste profile of a Matsui whisky. The Peated Malt Whisky The Peated Malt Whisky uses malted barley which is then peated. This is a much more powerful whisky than the Mizunara or Sakura Single Malt. This becomes clear when you look at this special label design. Another old woodcut is shown, this time it is the work of art by 'Katsushika Hokusai' - 'The Great Wave of Kanagaqa'. The image of the wave makes it clear that there must be something powerful in the bottle. In addition to the strong, full-bodied and sometimes complex aromas, the whisky leaves an equally powerful finish.

The Matsui Japanese Single Malt Whisky Sakura Cask 0,7L 48%
The Matsui Japanese Single Malt Whisky Sakura Cask 0.7L 48% Single Cask Bottling A single cask bottling is always a single bottling from a single cask, which is why it is always a 'limited edition', because there is only this one cask, and each other tastes a little different, even if it is only a matter of nuances. You can usually read the cask number and bottle number on the bottle label. Sakura Single Cask Single Malt Whisky The Sakura Single Cask Single Malt Whisky from 'The Matsui' is a whisky that spent most of its maturation time in barrels made of Japanese cherry wood. Over the course of storage, a unique aroma was created. Bitter-sweet notes that, in addition to spicy wood notes, are also reminiscent of blossoming cherry trees and fresh oranges.

Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0,7L
Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0,7L 43%
Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt Japanese Whisky 0.7L 43% Japanese Whisky Japan is a rather unusual country for whisky. If the country is the last thing you associate with Scottish or Irish spirits, it is all the more surprising to learn that Japan has been on the rise when it comes to whisky in recent years and should not be underestimated! A manufacturer from Japan that is one of the global spirits players Suntory is Hakushu. Along with Yamazaki, the distillery is one of only two distilleries that produce Japanese single malt whisky for the group. Both distilleries are characterized by the fact that they have a large number of different stills. This means that both distilleries can produce many different whiskies with individual characters, which can then be blended later. Hakushu Distillers Reserve Hakushu Distillers Reserve is exactly such a blend. The special thing that sets Hakushu whisky apart from products from the Yamauaki distillery is that the whisky is often smoked before the actual distillation process. This gives the whisky from the Hakushu distillery a pleasant smoky aroma. This is so subtle in the Distillers Reserve that you can hardly notice it. It is mainly aromas such as vanilla, green apples and a kind of cucumber aroma that pamper the taste buds. A little malt can also be detected in the background alongside lemon. In the finish, a little smoky aroma is also initially more noticeable, but fades again quite quickly and leaves behind memories of a fruity, tangy summer whisky.
