The Glenrothes Whisky 1999 Single Cask #8193 19 years 0.7L 53% Glenrothes The Glenrothes Whisky distillery is a typical Speyside distillery, as it is located in the whisky town of Rothes, which is between Elgin and Craigellachie. If you translate Glenrothes, you will find that the name alludes to this area. Its name means valley of the Rothes. It was once founded by William Grant & Co, who should not be confused with the founder of Glenfiddich! With years of experience since 1879, the company has brought many a whisky onto the market and established itself with it. However, mainly with malt whisky for various blends. A single malt under the company's own label has only been available for a good 30 years. Silver Cask Series The 1999 Single Cask #8193 19 years was released in the Silver Cask Series. After distillation in 1999, the whisky was filled into bourbon seasoned American oak remade hogshead barrels for final maturation. The whisky was not bottled at cask strength until 2019. Only 240 bottles of this special bottling, from cask no. #8193, are available, making this single cask a rarity. Tasting Notes On the nose, the 19-year-old whisky is very voluminous, with finely tuned notes of oak and vanilla. A subtle chocolate aroma is also noticeable. The distillery's experience is evident on the palate. A super soft and complex whisky that is not overwhelming. Vanilla and chocolate are also present here, along with the expressive aromas of citrus fruits and green tea. The finish is definitely the crowning glory here. Very long and other great aromas are added. A very fruity aftertaste in which, in addition to the citrus notes, there is also the presence of white peach and is rounded off by fine vanilla notes. A very fine drop for connoisseurs and collectors alike.

Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky 28 years 0.7L 47% As you would expect from Isle of Jura products, this limited edition is naturally free of colorants and chill filtration. All individual barrels used for this bottling were carefully selected by Thomas Ewers. The final whisky was ultimately bottled at a powerful 49.7% ABV, which is intended to give the aromas even more power. Tasting The proud maturation period of 28 years is now clearly reflected in the aroma and taste. First, you are overwhelmed by the variety of different aromas on the nose. Fettercairn 28 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 42% Fettercairn Based in the eastern Highlands of Scotland, whisky has been produced under an official license at the eponymous location since 1824. Like most distilleries that have existed for such a long time, Fettercairn has a very turbulent history, in which the distillery had to be rebuilt after a fire, had to be temporarily closed after a low point in 1926 and a new high in the mid-1960s, as well as perseverance during a new economic crisis in the 1980s. Fettercairn 28 Year Old Single Malt Whisky The 28 year old single malt is matured exclusively in American bourbon barrels. The aroma offers sweet and fruity notes at the same time. Fruity parts are reminiscent of pineapple and melon, the sweetness is reminiscent of a syrup. These aromas are accompanied by light ginger spice and licorice notes. On the palate, a full, very well-balanced whisky develops, the aroma of which is now characterized by citrus notes and a hint of spicy black pepper. Aromas of roasted nuts, apricots and a hint of vanilla linger in the background. The finish is rather medium-long and is reminiscent of notes of coffee and sweet balsamic vinegar.

The nose is characterized by smoke, spices and a hint of leather. As it rests in the glass, the aromas intensify and roasted fruits are added. The palate experiences a mix of smoked bacon, fresh sea breeze and exotic fruit. The finish of this Smokehead Rum Riot Cask Finish Islay Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 43% is long-lasting, characterized by sweet honey, banana and a hint of lemon.
