Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky 19 Years The Paps Malt Whisky 0,7L 45,6%

Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky 19 Years The Paps Malt Whisky 0.7L 45.6% Isle of Jura Jura is located on the Isle of Jura, which is on the west coast of Scotland. The history of whisky distillery on the island goes back a long way. Whisky is said to have been produced here as early as the beginning of the 17th century. In 1875, John Ferguson and Sons were named as the official owners, who had to sell the distillery at the beginning of the 20th century after they could no longer pay the rent for the buildings. The distillery stood idle for a while, as new buyers were not found until the middle of the same century. Two locals from the island had a completely new distillery built with the help and financial support of Mackinlay MacPherson and an engineer and architect. They wanted to create more jobs for the locals, but this did not last long. In 1985 the distillery was sold on to Invergordon Distillers and thus came into the possession of Whyte & Mackay. Further changes of ownership followed, and it was finally transferred to the current owner, Emperador International Ltd. The Jura Sherry Cask Collection The Collection is a series of four whiskies from the Isle of Jura house and are named after various characteristics of the island house of the distillery, including The Sound, The Road, The Loch and finally The Paps. Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky 19 Years The Paps Malt Whisky 0.7L 45.6% is a homage to the highest mountain on the island, the Cape of Jura, from which the water used to make the whisky comes. Taste After the Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky has matured for a good 19 years in ex-bourbon barrels, it is then given a special finish through further storage in hand-picked Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels. This rounds off the already impressive taste of the Islay Single Malt Whisky. On the nose you can smell strong aromas of vanilla, a little balsamic vinegar and a hint of baked cake with notes of ginger. The taste is of a warm, spicy whisky. Red wine pears, the sweetness of ripe figs and an aroma of roasted walnuts spread out and harmonize very well with the aromas that were already so inviting on the nose. The finish is also enjoyable and you'll want to take another sip of this excellent malt whisky. Long-lasting and spicy, a pleasant warmth spreads out.

Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky Winter Edition Sherry Cask Finish 0,7L 40%

Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky Winter Edition Sherry Cask Finish 0.7L 40% Winter Edition For the cold winter days, the island distillery launched its new warm-emitting representative in the Cask Editions series in winter 2020/21. This whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in Spanish sherry casks. However, it was bottled and released for sale without an exact age statement. The whisky is given the addition 'Winter Edition' because, according to Master Distiller Gregg Glass, the flavors are strongly reminiscent of the Christmas season. Tasting Nose: Surprisingly, it is fresh citrus and caramel notes that are prominent here. These are accompanied by the aroma of sultanas and a hint of banana. Palate: Here the whisky develops towards coffee notes accompanied by the nutty aroma of maple syrup, notes of spicy wine, vanilla and cinnamon are also present. Finish: In the finish it shows a warming bouquet accompanied by vanilla and cinnamon.

Isle of Jura The Road Single Malt Whisky 1,0L 43,6%
Isle of Jura The Road Single Malt Whisky 1,0L 43,6%

Isle of Jura The Road Single Malt Whisky 1.0L 43.6% Isle of Jura This place is really very special, many may even describe it as unusual and takes some getting used to. Here you will find untouched fields, rugged cliffs and at the same time a wonderful view of the sea. This is exactly where you will find the Isle of Jura distillery and the island is probably the only one on which there are probably more whisky barrels than inhabitants. The Road Whisky Certain bottlings from a distillery are often dedicated to a certain historical event or a certain person. The Isle of Jura has dedicated one of its new products not to the landscape or a person, but to a road. Between green fields, a road leads along the coast to the Jura distillery. Partly overgrown and no longer in the best condition, the Isle of Jura whisky reflects this winding, rough path. The additional maturation in fine Pedro Ximenez sherry casks also ensures a special aroma. A whisky with a complex aroma, notes of coffee and bitter almonds. Oak wood and the fruity sherry notes are also clearly evident.

Isle of Jura The Sound Single Malt Whisky 1,0L 42,5%

Isle of Jura The Sound Single Malt Whisky 1.0L 42.5% Isle of Jura Distillery The Isle of Jura Distillery is located on the Isle of Jura, an island that belongs to Scotland. Even before the distillery was 'officially' founded by Charles Mackinlay & Company in 1960, a distillery is said to have existed at the same location years earlier, around 1831. After a few changes of ownership, however, following disputes between the Ferguson family and the then owner of the land, the distillery was closed and all the equipment sold. It was only after the new building was built in 1960 and under the management of Charles Mackinlay & Company distilled whisky from the Isle of Jura for the first time in 1963. The Sound - Single Malt Whisky The single malt 'The Sound' is one of the special bottlings that are all geared to the special geographical conditions of the island. After there was already a The Road, which was dedicated to the unpaved road that leads directly to the distillery, there is now 'The Sound'. This reflects the character of the strait on the Gulf of Corryvreckan and the sound of the sea caused by stormy seas.

The Glenrothes Single Malt Whisky 1988/2016 0,7L 44,1%

The Glenrothes Single Malt Whisky 1988/2016 0.7L 44.1% This exclusive Speyside Vintage The Glenrothes Single Malt Whisky, produced by the renowned Glenrothes Distillery, was originally distilled in 1988. After a maturation period of around 28 years, it was bottled in 2016 as a "Second Edition" with an alcohol content of 44.1%. Interestingly, this vintage single malt whisky spent its long maturation phase in a combination of "First Fill Sherry Hogsheads" made of American white oak and "Refill Sherry Butt" made of European oak. This gives the smooth The Glenrothes Single Malt Whisky 1988/2016 0.7L 44.1% a wonderfully fruity, sweet and herbal taste profile. On the nose it is round and aromatic, with notes of roasted coffee beans, blackcurrants, a hint of vanilla and chocolate cake. On the palate it is lighter than expected, with sweet hints of honey, plenty of vanilla pods and candied lemon peel. A hint of rich sherry cask aromas rounds off the taste experience. Its finish is long-lasting, accompanied by subtle cinnamon and pepper notes. A fine, complex and full-bodied single malt whisky that perfectly reflects the characteristic features of the Glenrothes distillery.
