Royal Lochnagar Single Malt Whisky 16 Years Special Release 2021 0.7L 57.5% Legends Untold experience series With this special series, Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson has managed to select and refine each hand-picked single malt so appropriately that you really feel like you can sense the spirit of the respective distillery legend in every bottling. In addition to the artfully designed bottle and packaging designs by illustrator Ken Taylor, which perfectly embodies each individual creature, another special feature has been thought up with the packaging: There is a QR code on each package. If you scan this, the legends are 'unlocked', so to speak, and a multisensory experience begins! This is followed by the telling of the story of the single malts and a mixed reality tasting. Royal Lochnagar 16 years There is also a special legend for Royal Lochnagar. The lands of Royal Deeside are said to have been covered in thick, cold fog for decades. One day a proud, white stallion rode up and broke through this eternal, icy veil. To this day, his rapid gallop is said to drive the stills of Royal Lochnagar and give each single malt its sparkling, fresh, almost spring-like character. This is also reflected in the 16-year-old bottling: On the nose, fine fruity aromas such as orange peel and green apple, fine pastry notes seduce the senses. Talisker Single Malt Whisky 8 Years Special Release 2021 0.7L 59.7% Diageos Special Releases Towards the end of the 1980s, the company tried for the first time to establish a limited release series on the market with the well-known 'Classic Malts' series. At that time, the series comprised six single malts from six distilleries. Interest in older or rarer malt bottlings quickly grew, which was finally covered by the 'Rare Malt' series known between 1995 and 2005. Even before these special bottlings were completed, it was quickly noticed that the demand for special bottlings with a distinctive character and limited bottlings at cask strength was enormous. In 2001, the 'Special Releases' series with an annual collection was therefore launched. This year, 2021, the series has been given the motto 'Legends Untold', presenting a single malt collection that presents the stories and their guardians in a unique way. Talisker 'The Rogue Seafury' From the legend of the oldest still operating distillery on the Isle of Skye, the Talisker distillery, comes the Leviathan sea dragon of the Loch, who watches over his home. He is said to give the Talisker whisky its distinctive salty character. This presents an aroma of sweetness and maritime saltiness at the same time, seaweed and iodine mix with the aromas of barley and hazel, and wood aromas can be perceived in the background. On the palate, salty notes are accompanied by sweet peat smoke. Slightly spicy pepper notes round off the palate. The finish is warming and ends with smoky notes.

Arran 21 year old Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd As the name of the distillery might suggest, it is located on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. In direct comparison with other distilleries in the whisky region of Scotland, Arran is a very young distillery. Harold J. Currie only started building the distillery in 1991. The name may sound familiar to some, as Currie had already gained a lot of experience over the years as managing director of Seagram. The distillery is still owned by Currie today, making it one of the few privately run distilleries in the country. Arran 21 years As simple and straightforward as the bottle and label design may be, the Arran 21 years has all the more to offer in terms of taste: Fine sherry notes ensure great complexity in the whisky, but at the same time give it fine fruity-sweet notes. These are accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, spicy ginger notes and, above all, strong, spicy oak tones. The finish is also impressive with long-lasting and perfectly balanced aromas.

Macallan A Night on Earth in Scotland Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% Speyside Distillery In the world of whisky, Macallan from Easter Elchies is one of the best known and most valued whisky producers on the scene. The distillery has been in existence since 1824, so you could say that a lot of expertise and passion goes into its work. With its small wash and sprit stills, the distillery is based on the originals from 1824 and so produces in smaller quantities, which is why limited editions are always in high demand. The local source 'Ringmoren Burn' is used for production and the whisky is stored exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks. A night on Earth in Scotland With the new special edition 'A night on Earth in Scotland', Macallan is paying homage to New Year's Eve, as it is known in Scotland, 'Hogmanay'. Together with the renowned Japanese-French illustrator 'Erica Dorn', the exciting bottle and packaging design was created to remind people of the celebration rituals/fireworks that people all over the world enjoy at the turn of the year. Benromach Speyside Single Malt Whisky 21 years 0.7L 43% Benromach Distillery The family-run distillery is known for its traditional whisky and small batch bottlings. It is the smallest whisky distillery in Speyside and employs just two people. After years of inactivity, the distillery was officially reopened by Prince Charles in 1998. The distillery's 21-year-old complements the Classic Lein in a special way: It embodies the handmade character through and through. The whisky was distilled in the year of the reopening. After distillation, it was matured in oak barrels in which sherry had previously been stored. This gives the whisky not only its deep amber tone, but also distinctive sherry notes. On the nose, this is accompanied by citrus, cinnamon and oak notes. On the palate, spicy notes of ginger and pepper as well as fruity orange notes complement the taste profile. In the background, the smoky undertone known for Benromach whisky can be detected, which intensifies further in the finish.

Torabhaig The Legacy Allt Gleann Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Torabhaig Distillery The Scottish whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye is still a relatively young distillery, having only started operations in 2017. On the grounds of a well-preserved farm, the walls of the distillery were built from the stones of the nearby castle ruins 'Camus'. It was important to the founders of the distillery to incorporate as much history as possible into the construction of the distillery. This includes an old mill wheel, which has been restored and retrofitted and is now operated with the cooling water from the distillery. The young distillers were also trained by experienced distillers who passed on their centuries-old knowledge to the next generation. The Legacy Series This series is intended to reflect the distillery's journey from 2017 to its coming of age in 2028. As you might expect, all bottlings in the series are strictly limited, Allt Gleann to around 4,800 bottles. Compared to its predecessor, the Allt Gleann has already improved considerably in terms of peat aromas. It is a very characterful whisky with depth and complexity. In addition to the distinctive peat notes, fruity and smoky notes also accompany the tasting.

Isle of Jura 12 Years Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% Signature Range Series The 12 Years Single Malt is presented in a new guise in the already well-known Signature Range series. The series represents the company's special style. The 12-year-old can safely be classified above the 10-year-old and the Jura Journey with no age statement. This means that it appeals not only to beginners, but also to the odd whisky expert who wants to be inspired by the perfectly balanced aromas. At the beginning there are aromas of fine vanilla, toffee and malt and a subtle hint of pear. The peat smoke then becomes more apparent on the palate, along with notes of iodine, leather and a pinch of salt, although the whisky always appears very soft and non-alcoholic. The aroma of oak wood lingers more in the background, heralding the surprisingly long, soft finish characterized by light peat. Here, too, vanilla, malt and citrus accompany the palate before toasted oak wood takes over.

Crabbie 12 Years Lightly Peated Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% John Crabbie & Co If you have previously held bottlings with the brand name Crabbie, these were whisky bottlings from third-party stocks. Since the brand does not (yet) have its own production facility, this is to open under the name 'Crabbie Micro Distillery', a peated single malt from another island distillery, which is not named, was used here. Aroma: intense with a malty aroma, fresh citrus notes. Taste: full-bodied whisky, fine honey notes with orange notes and green tea. Finish: long and smoky with a fine peppery spice.

Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky 33 Years The Ian Hunter Story Book 3 Source Protector 0.7L 49.9% Islay Whisky Whisky specialists know what makes whisky from the island of Islay so special: a much stronger peat aroma characterizes the whisky from the eight remaining local whisky distilleries. One of these eight is the Laphroaig distillery. Alongside the Bowmore distillery, these two are the only ones on the island that still produce some of the malt needed to make whisky themselves. This allows the distilleries to better influence the roasting with peat and create another, very unique character. Ian Hunter Ian Hunter was the last heir to the founding Johnston family, who once founded the Laphroaig brand. From 1908-1944, Hunter had the honor of successfully leading the family business. To honor him, the series 'The Ian Hunter' - Story Book Series was developed. It is a fifteen-part series of rare single malt bottlings, each of which represents a special chapter in Ian Hunter's life. Story Book 3 is a whisky distilled in 1987. It represents Hunter's influence and is the only whisky he ever helped to develop. It matured in refilled ex-bourbon barrels for a good 33 years and is bottled at 49.9% ABV.

Macalllan Single Malt Whisky M Decanter Release 2020 0.7L 45% Master Series In the Master Series, Macallan embodies two of the strengths it has developed over the centuries. Firstly, the storage in oak sherry casks and secondly, the fact that Macallan does not need any additional coloring to preserve the fascinating color reflections. With the 2020 release, Macallan's M series is already presenting its eighth whisky masterpiece. Like its predecessors in the series, it is also strictly limited and is probably more for whisky connoisseurs. In terms of color, it stands out from its competitors with its strong, dark color. As always, the bottle design of the Single Malt M Decanter Release 2020 is a real eye-catcher. The aromas have been shaped by a long maturation in sherry casks, so it presents itself with rich notes of exotic fruits, subtle sweetness and spicy notes.

Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky 28 years 0.7L 47% As you would expect from Isle of Jura products, this limited edition is naturally free of colorants and chill filtration. All individual barrels used for this bottling were carefully selected by Thomas Ewers. The final whisky was ultimately bottled at a powerful 49.7% ABV, which is intended to give the aromas even more power. Tasting The proud maturation period of 28 years is now clearly reflected in the aroma and taste. First, you are overwhelmed by the variety of different aromas on the nose. Only on the palate can these be defined more precisely.

Fettercairn 23 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 48.5% At the foot of the mountain This is the translation of the Gaelic name 'Fettercairn' and refers to the distillery located in Fettercairn. It has been located there since it was founded in 1824 by Sir Alecander Ramsay. After the distillery was almost completely burned down in a massive fire towards the end of the 19th century, citizens managed to rebuild the distillery, albeit with great effort. Fettercairn 23 Year Old Single Malt Whisky In addition to the usual borubon barrels, cognac barrels were also used for this 23-year-old. This created a very complex, special aroma. Green apples exude a certain freshness, along with roasted almonds, a hint of vanilla and some milk chocolate. On the palate, there are other special notes of roasted pineapple, dark caramel and pecans. The finish is medium-long, with aromas of dried grapes and cinnamon accompanying the finish.

Benriach Smoke Season Double Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 52.8% Tasting With the Smoke Season Double Cask Matured Whisky, the Benriach distillery is taking a new approach, or if you like, an old approach. Smoky whiskies from Speyside, where the Benriach whisky comes from, are not really what you would associate with the whisky region. However, if you look back a little at the historical development of the distillery, you will be taught otherwise. In the 1970s, the old styles of whiskies that were popular in the 19th century were briefly revived. Back then, a lot of malted barley was used, which was smoked with Highland peat. Smoke Season Double Cask Matured is therefore a homage to this former style and is absolutely successful. In addition to the distinctive smoke influences, fruit aromas still prevail. Baked apple and cinnamon as well as a hint of orange peel round off the smoky charcoal aromas wonderfully.

Benriach The Twenty Five Four Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% John Duff John Duff, who already owned the Longmorn distillery, also founded the Benriach distillery in 1898. At the turn of the century, however, it had to be temporarily closed to whisky production due to poor business. Up until 1965, the only malt produced was for the Longmorn distillery, which continued production, after which the distillery was transferred to Glenlivet Distillery Ltd. There were one or two changes of ownership up until 2004, before the distillery was finally sold to an independent consortium called The BenRiach Distillery Company Ltd. calls, and since 2016 has in turn belonged to the Brown Forman Corporation. The Twenty Five Four Cask Matured As the name suggests, this whisky contains a mixture of whisky matured in different types of barrels. These are selected whiskies from ex-sherry, bourbon, Madeira and virgin oak barrels. The maturation period for this product is an impressive 25 years, which is reflected not only in the dark color but also in the taste. Each barrel left behind its own special aromas during this time: Sherry and Madeira barrels provide fruity characteristics, while bourbon and virgin oak barrels provide strong spicy to smoky notes. Overall, The Twenty Five Four Cask Matured Whisky can be described as a very rich single malt. The palate is pampered with baked fruit cake, spicy malt and oak aromas as well as caramel and finally a smoky finish.

Benriach The Twenty One Four Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Benriach Distillery The history of the Scottish distillery got off to a somewhat bumpy start shortly after it was founded by John Duff. Two years after it opened in Speyside, production at the distillery was shut down again. As Duff was also the owner of the nearby Longmorn distillery, Benriach was able to keep going by producing malt. It was only after the company was taken over by The Glenlivet Distillers Ltd. in 1965 that normal production could begin again, although it did not yet produce under its own name. This was possible after the company was taken over by the BenRiach Distillery Company Ltd. in 2004. Today the distillery belongs to the Brown Forman Corporation. The Twenty One Four Cask Matured The barrels selected by master blender Rachel Barrie all influenced the whisky over the long maturation period of 21 years. The selection of sherry and red wine barrels provide more fruity notes, while bourbon and virgin oak barrels offer smoky notes and a fine oak aroma in this whisky. The tasting can also be repeated in this order: On the nose, first a fruity bouquet reminiscent of ripe summer fruits and citrus notes. The palate then convinces with the expected strong oak and smoky notes before it then turns into a long and soft harmonious finish.

Creag Dhu Speyside Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40.2% The quality of Creag Dhu whisky begins with the selection of the finest barley, followed by the perfected mashing and distillation processes. The key to the exceptional taste profile lies in the specially selected barrels and how they are roasted and charred. Creag Dhu is a very traditional whisky, produced by master distiller Chris Molyneaux, in collaboration with a Speyside distillery. Time-honored Scottish whisky distilling techniques are used that have not changed for centuries. Creag Dhu whisky is stored for at least eight years. Creag Dhu is an exceptionally smooth, rich, spicy and delicate single malt Scotch whisky with a warm and long finish, with notes of date and walnut cake, spicy caramel and Oloroso sherry.

Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 25 Years 2020 Edition Cask Strength 0.7L 49.8% The island of Islay Islay is one of the Inner Hebrides and is the southernmost of this group of islands. The history of whisky goes back a long way here, albeit illegally. Irish monks are said to have discovered the art of distillation here. Since the island was very isolated from the mainland at the time, the production of island-typical spirits naturally boomed, which the tax collectors absolutely did not like. Ultimately, however, the laws were changed to the advantage of the distillers and more and more legal distilleries were able to settle on the island. One of these legal distilleries has been the Laphroaig distillery on the south coast since 1815. The founders Donald and Alexander Johnston chose the name after the distillery's surroundings, which are a 'broad valley in the bay'. Good things come to those who wait This whisky is one of the best proofs that length of maturation is often what counts. For this single malt whisky, fresh Laphroaig was divided into two different barrels. One part matured in ex-bourbon barrels, the other part in Oloroso sherry barrels. The whisky was then allowed to mature and develop its full aromas for a quarter of a century. The storage facilities in the warehouses directly on the Atlantic play a particularly important role here. Laphroaig's notes always have something medicinal and a hint of seaweed. Added to this are the aromas of the different barrels. Slightly sweet, fruity notes from the sherry barrels, paired with vanilla and oak notes from the bourbon barrels. After this long maturation period, it was bottled directly at cask strength.

Glen Scotia Single Malt Whisky Campbeltown Harbour 0.7L 40% Glen Scotia Distillery The name Glen Scotia is no stranger to whisky experts in particular. The distillery has existed since 1832 and is valued for its high quality and authenticity. Today Glen Scotia is produced under the management of the Loch Lomond Distillery Co., which produces only around 100,000 l of Glen Scotia each year. Maturation and taste The name of the whisky does what it suggests: It exudes a harbor atmosphere! However, the exact distillery behind this peaty whisky has not been fully disclosed. Some think they recognize a typical Lagavulin, but others see it more as a Caol Ila... In terms of taste, this ignorance gives The Ileach Islay Cask Strength even more 'character'; you perceive the aromas more intensely and perhaps not be able to recognize a specific distillery. All in all, however, this The Ileach (translated from Gaelic, this means 'citizen of Islay') reflects the typical Islay characteristics: clear and sometimes strong peat smoke notes combined with maritime overtones.

Macallan Masters of Photography Magnum Edition 0.7L 43.7% Masters of Photography Series What better way to celebrate a new opening than with a special edition? That's what Macallan thought too and decided to create a new edition of the well-known Masters of Photography series. This edition, strictly limited to 2000 bottles, even has an additional special feature this time: Compared to the previous edition, several well-known photographers from Magnum Photos were brought on board this time: Alec Soth, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Steve McCurry, Martin Paar, Paolo Pellergrin and Mark Power worked together on this project and present impressive images of the Macallan distillery. Master distiller Sarah Burgess created the matching whisky. The new edition consists of a total of eight malt barrels. She deliberately chose barrels that have stark contrasts and characteristics to reflect the different photo styles of the photographers. Tamnavullin Speyside Single Malt Whisky Double Cask 0.7L 40% Distillery anniversary It was not clear for a long time that the distillery would even have such a 'big' anniversary. The distillery, which was only built by Invergordon in 1966, had its difficulties right from the start. After it was taken over by Whyte & Mackay in 1994, they closed the distillery a good year later. At the turn of the century, production resumed briefly for a few months, but nothing major. It was only after the distillery was sold again and bought by a subsidiary of the Indian UB Group that whisky production began again in the same year it was bought, 2007. However, they rarely sold under their own name, and liter after liter went into various blends, including Mackinlay's. To mark the company's 50th anniversary, the Tamnavullin distillery from the village of the same name in Scotland has finally brought a new original bottling onto the market. This went through two maturation phases, the first in ex-bourbon barrels and the second in ex-sherry barrels, which gave it a strong amber color. The Double Cask has a lot to offer in terms of taste. In this old garden, the whisky is stored partly in bourbon and partly in sherry casks. This is married in a ratio of 9:1. In terms of taste, this new single malt whisky has a lot to offer.
