At that time, King James I granted the landowner and governor of County Antrim in Ireland a license to distill. A good two centuries later, the Old Bushmills distillery was officially registered by Hugh Anderson. Pot style became a registered trademark and is still a trademark today. In 1885, the distillery was surprised by a major fire and everything burned down.
