Wild Turkey Longbranch 1.0L 43% Wild Turkey Distilling Company The Ripy brothers founded the Texan Ripy distillery in 1869 in Lawrenceburg Kentucky. They had their breakthrough a few years later at the Chicago World Fair in 1893, where they were allowed to represent the state of Kentucky with their whiskey. Their whiskey quickly became very well known beyond the borders of Kentucky. However, it did not receive its name 'Wild Turkey Whisky' until almost a century later. When distillery manager Thomas McCarthy was hunting with friends and toasted 'wild turkeys', the name 'Wild Turkey Bourbon' was born. Collaboration with film star In order to create a connection between the states of Texas and Hollywood, the distillery developed a special whiskey. With Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey, who has been the distillery's brand ambassador since 2016, a wonderfully smooth 8-year-old straight bourbon whiskey with a fruity, sweet character was created. The filtering certainly contributed to the special taste. Here, the whiskey was not only filtered through wooden hollows made from American soft oak, but also charcoal from the Texas sweet chestnut tree. The taste is very complex with sweet and fruity nuances and spicy, smoky, peppery notes on the finish.

Journeyman Corsets, Whips and Whiskey 0.05L 58.5% The whisky scene is booming worldwide. In America, too, whisky producers are bustling with new ideas. In order to stand out from the usual mass products, many small and medium-sized companies have formed across the country to compete with the large corporations. They want to stand out from the crowd through loving handcraft, sustainability and special flavors. With the opening of the Journeyman Distillery in 2011, these founders are also trying to carve out a special place for themselves in the industry. If you know the translation of the company name, you can already guess that there is a lot of dedication to craftsmanship here. Journeyman means 'journeyman'. This very young distillery can be found in Three Oaks in the state of Michigan. Organic products are also used here, which means that the ingredients used all come from the surrounding region and corn, wheat, barley and rye are grown organically by local farmers. The organic seal that they receive as a result is only valid in America, however. The Journeyman Distillery mainly concentrates on producing whiskeys and gin, but there are also other limited specialties. Taste of Corsets, Whips & Whiskey The whiskey is named after the products once made in the historic building: corsets and whips. Corsets, Whips is the single grain, barrel version of Journeyman's Buggy Whipp Wheat Whiskeys. The limited release whiskey shows the high and particularly good quality of the wheat from Michigan. Because Corsets, Whip & Whisky is a single distillation of 100% wheat, which gives the whisky its pleasant sweetness and softness and is bottled at cask strength. When tasting it, it has a great mouthfeel, thick and chewy. The sweetness is not too intrusive and harmonizes very well with the citrus, vanilla and caramel notes. Warming and complex in taste, a perfectly harmonious whisky.

MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey 0.5L 45% About the Mississippi River Distilling Company The Mississippi River Distilling Company, or MRDC for short, is a relatively young American distillery that was founded just a few years ago. The idea to found the Mississippi River Distilling Company came from two brothers who wanted to make their dream of owning their own distillery come true. At the same time, they wanted to use their spirits to create a connection to their homeland and the location of the distillery in LeClaire, Iowa. LeClaire, Iowa is an almost magical place where nature is almost completely untouched and where crystal-clear rivers ensure fertile landscapes. The ideal place to distill high-quality bourbon whiskey such as the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey! The MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey In 1846, William Frederick Cody, better known as Buffalo Bill, was born in LeClaire, Iowa. On his "road of life" he inspired many people and so the Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey was named after him. The aim of the distillers was to create a whiskey with the most unique taste possible with the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey. They kept in mind that around 90% of American whiskeys are distilled by just eight distilleries. Although these whiskeys are very good, they often have more or less similar tastes. This should be different with the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey, which is why the Mississippi River Distilling Company opted for a mash of 70% corn, 20% wheat and 10% unmalted barley. The resulting MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey matures for a year in heavily charred, small oak barrels before being bottled at 45% ABV. The taste of the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey Just as the makers intended, the taste of the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey Company cannot easily be compared with other American bourbon whiskeys. The unmalted barley brings nutty aromas to the whiskey, while the corn provides the light, fruity taste of the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey. Despite its strong 45% vol., the MRDC Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey has a very smooth and long finish!

Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey 0.5L 45% History of Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey: Nowhere in the world is the craft scene as pronounced as in the USA. What began in garages and empty factory buildings in the 1980s has now developed into a worldwide trend. Achieved from the desire to create an alternative to the common mass products of global spirits companies, small, medium-sized companies were formed across the country that lovingly handcrafted first-class spirits that not only impressed with their taste but also with their sustainable production and wealth of innovation. The Journeyman Distillery (journeyman means journeyman), which opened in 2011, shows in its name that the founders clearly feel they belong to the craft scene. In the tranquil village of Three Oaks, in the state of Michigan, the Journeyman distillery produces exclusively certified organic spirits. In addition to different whiskeys, various gin variations and limited specialties are produced in small quantities and from the best ingredients. The distillery building used to be a corset factory. In the EK Warren featherbone factory, corsets were made to measure from quills until the beginning of the 20th century. The use of quills was revolutionary at the time and, compared to the whale bones commonly used, significantly cheaper and faster. The beautiful factory building, which is steeped in history, has been extensively renovated and now houses the Journeyman Distillery, whose absolute flagship product is the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey. Production of the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey The Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey is made from a combination of various organically grown grains. The lion's share is made up of organic corn from the Midwest. Together with wheat, which provides a pleasant sweetness, rye, which is responsible for the spiciness in the end product, and the best barley malt, the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey pays tribute to its American history. Matured in fresh barrels made of American white oak, the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey shows typical vanilla and caramel notes, a pleasant malt sweetness, spicy oak and tobacco. Each bottle of Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey is filled by hand, labeled, sealed with wax and of course no coloring is added. Taste of the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon: The deep dark color of the Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey shows even before the bottle is opened that the whiskey has been through a long, intensive maturation process. The nose therefore also presents complex barrel aromas. Vanilla, caramel, raisins, orange peel and coconut flakes are in the foreground. These are supported by a pronounced maltiness and spicy oak. The Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey shows its powerful side on the tongue. The 45% alcohol by volume ensure a strong start, which together with the bourbon-typical softness of vanilla, caramel and sweet grain maltiness creates a wonderful interplay. Notes of orange, green pepper and tobacco emerge in the background. The Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey is extremely complex and multi-layered, the mouthfeel is very pleasant and the finish is long and oily. The Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon Whiskey is perfect for classic bourbon cocktails such as the Old Fashioned or Boulevardier.

Basil Hayden's Kentucky straight Bourbon Whiskey 0.7L 40% History and production of Basil Hayden's Bourbon: In the history of American whiskey there have been many personalities who have distinguished themselves through their inventiveness and pioneering spirit. One of them is Basil Hayden Sr., a distiller from Maryland, without whom bourbon whiskey as we know it today would simply be unthinkable. Actually from the east coast, Basil Hayden and 25 other families moved to Nelson County, in what is now the US state of Kentucky, at the end of the 18th century, where they founded a Catholic parish. Grain that was not needed for food at the time could be used to preserve it for whiskey production. As master distiller, Basil Hayden was responsible for the production of whiskey in the community. In this role, he developed a completely new whiskey recipe by breaking with the centuries-old tradition of using only one type of grain. Instead, he added a large amount of rye to the mash. This enabled Basil Hayden to add a certain spice and additional complexity to the sweet, mild taste of the corn whiskey of the time. Although this innovation caused a lot of controversy in the traditional distillery circles of the time, adding other types of grain to the whiskey mash is common practice today. Many distilleries have their own closely guarded recipe, which often contains wheat or barley malt. With his invention, Basil Hayden is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in the history of American whiskey. As part of the Jim Beam Small Batch Collection, the world-famous Beam Group has been releasing specially selected whiskeys in small batches under the radar of the public for many years now. These whiskeys are characterized by a longer maturation period and a special taste. In honor of the mastermind Basil Hayden, Basil Hayden's Bourbon has been available since 1992, based on Basil Hayden's original recipe from the 18th century. Basil Hayden's Bourbon has by far the largest proportion of rye in the entire Small Batch Collection. Stored for up to 8 years in new, burnt-out barrels made of American white oak and bottled at 40% alcohol by volume, Basil Hayden's Bourbon is a truly amazing whiskey that skilfully combines the advantages of bourbon and rye. Tasting Basil Hayden's Bourbon: Without background information, even experienced connoisseurs would find it difficult to classify Basil Hayden's Bourbon into a category. Quite untypical for a bourbon, the first aromas are spicy aromas of peppermint, ginger, green tea and gingerbread. Only in the background do notes of vanilla, caramel and candied fruit emerge. Rounded off with oak, Basil Hayden's Bourbon is a delight to nosh on. In terms of taste, Basil Hayden's Bourbon really celebrates its uniqueness. A full, intense body with strong spiciness ensures a fabulous start on the tongue. Notes of cinnamon, ginger, ground pepper, grain and honey are wonderfully and harmoniously interwoven and combined in the background with hints of oak, coffee and dark chocolate. Despite the intensity of the taste, Basil Hayden's Bourbon is still very mild and soft on the palate. The long, dry finish makes it clear once again that this is a complex mixture of bourbon and rye whiskey. For fans of American whiskey, Basil Hayden's should not be missing from any collection. You should definitely not miss out on this extraordinary taste experience.

Baker's Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 7 years, 0.7L 53.5% History and production of Baker's Bourbon 7 years: The Jim Beam distillery is undoubtedly one of the most famous and popular whiskey distilleries in the world. The Jim Beam White Label in particular, with its soft, gentle taste, represents the typical taste profile of a Kentucky Straight Bourbon like no other whiskey. The Jim Beam distillery was founded by Jakob Böhm, who was of German descent. The son of German emigrants moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland at the age of 18 to grow grain. As early as 1788, he produced his first whiskey from surplus grain. A few years later, he moved to Kentucky and operated a water-powered mill there. As payment for grinding grain, Böhm received grain from the farmers, which he used to produce whiskey. Jakob Böhm changed his name to Jacob Beam and in 1795 sold his first whiskey barrel under the name Old Jake Beam. In 1820, Jacob Beam handed over management of his distillery to his son David Beam. Today, the distillery is still in the hands of the Beam family. The Jim Beam distillery recently released four hand-selected, top-class Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys in the Small Batch Bourbon Collection. Particularly noteworthy is the Baker's Bourbon 7 Years, which goes back to a recipe from the former master distiller Baker Beam, Jim Beam's great-nephew. In addition to the obligatory corn content, 13% rye is added to the grain mash, which ensures a pleasantly spicy start. Storage for at least 7 years in fresh barrels made of American white oak is extremely rare for a bourbon and results in a full-bodied, complex taste. Only the best barrels from the distillery are selected for the Baker's Bourbon 7 years. This Kentucky Straight Bourbon is bottled in so-called small batches with a strong 53.3% alcohol by volume and sealed with black wax. Taste of the Baker's Bourbon 7 years: The Baker's Bourbon 7 years has a very dark color that is reminiscent of fine mahogany wood. On the nose, this whiskey is extremely complex and voluminous. Sweet notes such as vanilla, caramel and honey are accompanied by the smell of fresh mint and spicy oak. The rye content provides pleasant roasted aromas and a certain pepperiness. In the mouth, the Baker's Bourbon 7 years is powerful and complex. The typical bourbon notes are clearly evident, but are complemented by spicy hints of nuts, rye bread and green pepper. The high alcohol content also provides a lot of character. By adding a small amount of water, clear fruit and herbal notes also develop. The Baker's Bourbon 7 years is a whiskey close to perfection. Pure, it is extremely complex and harmonious. Sweet, spicy and fruity notes are wonderfully balanced and thus create a clear added value compared to conventional bourbons. Due to its powerful, spicy start, the Baker's Bourbon 7 years is also particularly suitable for classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned.

Bourbon Whiskey – The American Way of Corn!
Jim Beam, Jack Daniel’s, Wild Turkey, and Elijah Craig: the list of bourbon whiskey brands is long and distinguished. Every reputable spirits shop carries the most popular bourbons at their bar. And any beverage service that wants to excel offers exceptional whiskey for the most discerning connoisseurs. Ordering bourbon whiskey at the bar is not just about taste; it's also about image. Why is that? One name: Jack Daniel’s. Numerous rock 'n' roll bands like Guns 'n' Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith have been photographed with a bottle of bourbon whiskey in hand, significantly contributing to the rock lifestyle image of the affectionately named "Jackie." This is not only why it’s a top seller but also because you can buy this whiskey at an affordable price.
But what makes this alcoholic beverage so special? And where does the sweet taste come from? First of all, this drink is typically American, unlike malt whisky, which is made in Scotland and Ireland. The name "Bourbon" comes from Bourbon County in Kentucky, named after the French royal family, the Bourbons. This was originally the main production area of the whiskey. Additionally, the so-called "water of life" is characterized by its high corn content. This is at least 51%, making it predominant in the grain mixture. The corn content varies in different bourbon whiskey types and reaches a maximum of 80% in strong corn whiskey. Moreover, a minimum aging period of two years is legally required, which takes place in charred new white oak barrels.
The barrels must be fresh and unused, which also significantly contributes to the taste of bourbon whiskey. Today, you can buy various types of bourbon whiskey. These include Straight Bourbon, a pure distillate from a grain mixture with at least 51% corn. Blended Bourbon, where different bourbon and straight bourbon whiskey brands are mixed. Additionally, Blended Straight Bourbon, which exclusively blends straight bourbons. Tennessee whiskey, which includes the famous Jack Daniel’s, comes from Tennessee and has at least 20% rye content in addition to corn, making it particularly mild. You can also buy the now somewhat rarer Rye Whiskey in our online spirits shop, where the grain mixture contains at least 51% rye. Be convinced by the variety in our whisky shop and enjoy bourbon whiskey according to your taste. By the way, our beverage delivery service brings your favorites right to your home.
