Heaven Hill Whisky Distillery
If you look into the subject of bourbon whiskey in more detail, you can't avoid one name: The Heaven Hill Distillery from Louisville Kentucky, a family business that has been producing Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey since 1935. The Evan Williams is one of the few products that can boast the title Bottled in Bond. To be able to bear this title, the whiskey must meet several conditions. One of them is to be bottled at a minimum of 50% ABV. Another important point is that the whiskey must mature for at least 4 years under state supervision and must have been created by a master distiller. In terms of taste, the Evan Williams Bottled in Bond offers a strong aroma. Caramel, vanilla and subtle notes of oak can be detected. Fresh citrus and spicy pepper notes give the whisky that certain something.

Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey, 1 L, 43% About Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey is the second best-selling whiskey in the USA and is produced in the Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown/Kentucky. Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey came onto the market in the 1960s and is named after the whiskey pioneer Evan Williams. He was the first commercial distiller in Kentucky and registered his craft in 1783. The recipe for today's Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey supposedly dates back to that time. Evan Williams had to stop producing bourbon whiskey after about 20 years because his neighbors felt harassed and forced him to give up. The neighbors may not have liked the production of Evan Williams' bourbon whiskey, but the members of the "Board of Trustees" liked it all the more. Evan Williams was also active there and made the sessions more bearable for all participants with his bourbon whiskey. Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey is in line with other well-known whiskey brands from Heaven Hill, such as Elijah Craig and Henry McKenna, which are also named after bourbon whiskey pioneers, but is by far the most successful whiskey in this series. The production of Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey is a very traditional bourbon whiskey, which is largely produced using the same complex methods as around 1783. This means that the mash is produced using the sour mash process and the subsequent fermentation uses a yeast strain that has been in the family for 7 (!) generations. The subsequent distillation takes place in copper column stills that are over 20 meters high, producing a distillate with a strength of 68 - 70% vol. The Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey is then diluted with spring water from the region to a cask strength of 62.5% vol. and filled into charred new barrels made of American white oak to mature for 4-20 years. After the maturation process is complete, the Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at a strong 43% vol. The master distillers of the Evan Williams Bourbon are Parker and Craig Beam - no strangers in the bourbon whiskey industry... The taste of the Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey In the color of strong amber yellow, Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey offers complex, sweet caramel candy, vanilla and peppermint on the nose. Light and balanced in body, notes of spicy, sweet vanilla, toasted oak and toffee dominate. Evan Williams offers a bourbon with a good price/performance ratio and is ideal for entry into the bourbon whiskey segment. Caramel and light fruit notes paired with subtle spiciness.

An outstanding bourbon that was bottled by hand and is only produced in limited quantities. A true small batch bourbon whiskey!
Makers Mark Bourbon Whisky 1.0L 45% The history of Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky Makers Mark Bourbon Whisky is a somewhat atypical Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that is produced in Loretto, Kentucky. The first special feature of Maker's Mark is its name. Unlike other American whiskeys, the (e) in Whisk(e)y is omitted, which is why it is called Makers Mark Bourbon Whisky. More exciting than the name of Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky, however, is its history, which began in 1780. At that time, former officer Robert Samuels went from Pennsylvania to Kentucky to settle there as a farmer and distiller. The whiskeys produced by Samuels, however, were intended more for personal use, and it was not until his grandson Taylor Williams that he began producing bourbon whiskey commercially in 1844. The family business was then successfully continued by William Isaac and Leslie and reopened after the dry years of Prohibition with a new distillery. The distillery is now run by the seventh generation and produces around 4,000 litres of whiskey a day, which is very little compared to other American bourbon whiskey distilleries. The production of Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky Along with the name, the production method of Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky is also unusual. A very high proportion of sour mash (around a third) is used. The mash is composed as follows: 70% corn, 16% barley malt, 14% winter wheat.Normally, rye is used instead of wheat for bourbon whiskey, but it is the wheat that gives Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky its special flavour. Furthermore, during distillation, care is taken to only use up to around 62.5% ABV. is highly distilled so that more aromatic substances are retained in the distillate. Maker's Mark also takes particular care in choosing the barrels. These are stored in the open air for around a year before filling to extract the tannins. This process is obviously very expensive, but it is of great benefit to Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky. One of the biggest buyers of used Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky barrels is the Scottish malt distillery Glenmorangie, which also pays great attention to outstanding barrel quality. After storage, Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky is bottled in distinctive bottles and then dipped head first by hand in red sealing wax. This is how the famous Red Seal Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky is created, which is highly valued by connoisseurs all over the world. The taste of Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky On the nose, Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky is extremely round and balanced, with fine notes of vanilla, wood and cocoa. The body of the Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky is round, soft and buttery with a fine sweetness and again hints of caramel and vanilla. The smooth, pure aftertaste of the Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky ends a drinking experience that is unparalleled in this price range. Ideal for classic whiskey drinks or neat on ice.
