Nikka Peated Single Malt Whisky Miyagikyo Discovery Series 0.7L 48% Nikka Distillery After living abroad in Scotland and learning the art of distilling Scottish whisky, Masataka Taketsuru returned to his homeland of Japan. Here he looked for similar conditions in Scotland, with a cold climate, perfect humidity, clean air and access to a water source. Taketsuru found all of this in the small community of Yoichi and founded the distillery of the same name there in 1934. With the desire to create more complex whiskies, Taketsuru explored the northern part of Honshu and found the ideal conditions to open a second location, the Miyagikyo distillery, in 1967. Discovery Series The 'Discovery Series' of the Japanese whisky distillery Nikka includes two new products: Yoichi Non-Peated and Miyagikyo Peated, which are released as strictly limited editions and reflect the different tastes of the two locations. The series will include some special whiskies that will be released annually from now on and will span a long period into 2024, when the distillery will celebrate its 90th anniversary. Single Malt Miyagikyo Peated Whiskies from the 'Miyagikyo' distillery have a rather elegant, fresh character. For the limited edition, this character is given additional fine peat notes. This creates a very balanced, fruity single malt with fine smoky notes.

Rosebank Single Malt Whisky 30 Years 1990/2020 Release 1 0.7L 48.6% 'King of the Lowlands' This is the name by which the whisky from the Rosebank Distillery was once known in its heyday. The distillery, which has been closed since 1993, was officially founded in 1840 by James Rankine. Unofficially, the Stark brothers had been distilling there since the end of the 18th century. Rosebank Distillery is also one of the five founding distilleries of the Scottish Malt Distillers and, as already mentioned, was completely closed in 1993. At the beginning of the 21st century, the remaining buildings were sold to 'British Waterways', and five years later the distillation equipment was stolen from there during British holidays. Finally, the entire property, the last stocks including the trademark rights from the previous owner Diageo, were bought by Ian Macleod Distillers. With Release 1, the Rosebank Distillery wants to start a 'new chapter'. Before the distillery was closed in 1993, however, a whisky was distilled three years earlier, which has been stored in peace ever since. The new 30 Year Old is now being released in a limited edition of around 4350 bottles worldwide.

Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 25 Years 2021 Edition Cask Strength 0.7L 51.9% The Laphroaig distillery Laphroaig is the southernmost distillery on the island of Islay, which the distillery has taken advantage of. Due to its direct location in the sheltered bay, the warehouses were built in close proximity to the shore. These are now regularly washed by sea water. Together with two other factors, the salty sea water and the peaty water, these combinations ensure the typical Laphroaig Islay taste. This extraordinary taste has been around since 1815, the year the distillery was founded by siblings Alex and Donald Johnston. Taste profile On the nose it has aromas of sweet vanilla, juicy fruits, oak and the well-known, typical smoky notes. On the palate it is a very full-bodied, strong Islay whisky. The typical sea air smoky notes are accompanied by sweet bourbon notes with hints of vanilla and toffee. The finish is long-lasting, with the already familiar aromas of sweetness, hints and oak. Laphroaig 25 years was bottled in 2021 and comes in a beautiful, high-quality box, which makes the whisky a wonderful gift idea.

Glenmorangie X Single Malt Scotch Whisky 0.7L 40% Glenmorangie since 1843 The well-known, artisanal whisky distillery was founded in 1843 by the married couple Anne and William Matheson. With the distillery, the couple fulfilled a long-held dream that is still honored today. Especially suitable for mixing The new X Single Malt Whisky was created in collaboration with top bartenders. In terms of taste, it is a sweet and rich whisky that, thanks to its versatility, goes well with all kinds of cocktails and long drinks. The aim is to encourage whisky lovers to try new things and combine whisky in different ways. The distillery also provides some cocktail recipes on its website. The aromas are sweet and fruity with notes of pear, vanilla, caramel and orange peel. The selection of different barrels also brings out a certain spiciness and subtle aroma of oak.

Fettercairn Warehouse 2 Batch No. 002 2021 Highland Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 48.5% Fettercairn and the unicorn The whisky distillery is based in the town of the same name, Fettercairn, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay and was the second distillery in Scotland to receive an official distillery license. The distillery can be found at the foot of the Grampian Mountains in the Scottish Highlands, which is reflected in the name of the brand. Translated from Gaelic, Fettercairn means something like 'at the foot of the mountain' and not, as one might think from the company logo, something to do with a unicorn. The brand's logo is thanks to its founder; the unicorn has always been Sir Alexander Ramsay's private coat of arms. ...To be continued... After the very successful warehouse bottlings that have already been released, the second small batch bottling is now underway. The Fettercairn distillery is now launching Warehouse 2 Batch No. 002, which again comes from warehouse No. 2. The barrels selected for this limited edition this time are 29 first-fill rye and first-fill bourbon barrels. These have been stored in the warehouse since 2009 and are now being bottled. Knappogue Castle Irish Single Malt Whiskey 12 Years Barolo Wine Cask Finish 0.7L 46% Knappogue Castle Distillery If you drive through the mountains and valleys of Ireland, you will notice an incredible number of stately country houses from centuries long forgotten. One of these many impressive buildings is Knappogue Castle, which dates back to the 15th century. In 1966 it was bought by Mark Edwin Andrews, who restored the castle together with his wife, a very well-known architect at the time. It was also at this time that Andrews began buying rare pot still whiskeys from the distilleries in the region that were (still) producing them. At first they matured for some time in his own warehouse until Andrews died and the stock was passed on to his son. He discovered the potential in the whiskeys and gradually sold them under the Knappogue Castle label. One of the oldest vintages in the inventory was a 36-year-old whiskey from 1951. Cask Finish Series - Marchesi di Barolo Limited Release The series includes a range of single malts that were finished in different types of barrels. The 12YO Barolo Wine Cask Finish uses special barrels from the well-known Barolo Winery, in which the whiskey is aged after 12 years in bourbon barrels. Special aromas are fruity notes of strawberry, cinnamon and caramel. On the palate you discover further fruit aromas paired with a finely balanced spiciness. The finish is slightly peppery and spicy with smoky oak.

Tamdhu Speyside 15 Year Old Limited Release 0.7L 46% Tamdhu Distillery The Tamdhu Distillery Company was founded in the midst of the whisky boom at the end of the 19th century. It was founded by a union of merchants and whisky blenders. In addition to the well-known William Grant, a well-known architect, Charles Doig, was brought on board to build one of the most modern distilleries for the time. Just one year later, the first whisky was distilled and bottled. As with most distilleries, many closures and changes of ownership followed in the 20th century. Production was most recently discontinued between 2009 and 2012, with the Edrington Group, which had owned the company since 1999, selling the distillery and all associated shares to Ian Macleod Distillers in 2011. Ian Macleod Distillers recognized the potential behind the brand and decided to get the still fully functional distillery up and running again and give the 'Tamdhu' brand a new image. At the same time, they still maintain that the whiskeys have a strong sherry influence. Tamdhu Single Malt Whisky Batch Strength No. 6 Limited Release 0.7L 56.8% Sixth limited edition This is the sixth time that the award-winning bottling has been released in the 'Batch Strength' series. After Batch Strength No. 005, which won gold at 'The Spirits Buisness Luxury Masters' in 2020, its successor Batch Strength No. 6 follows. Batch Strength No. 6 is an unfiltered whisky with an alcohol content of 56.8% vol. This series is matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, which sets it apart from its competitors, as usually only the finish takes place in sherry casks. Particular emphasis is placed on a high proportion of first-fill barrels. The aim here is to achieve a complex taste profile, resulting in an intense oak aroma with sweet, dry sherry notes. The rich taste really develops on the palate: Red summer berries with fine vanilla and a creamy mouthfeel. If you add a few drops of water, clear notes of orange, lemon and oak spice emerge. The finish is, as always, Tamdhu's 'trademark': Very long-lasting and also with a wealth of aromas. Again, the notes of fruit, spices and the distinctive sherry notes accompanied by spicy notes such as cinnamon.

Aberlour Single Malt Whisky Casg Annamh Batch 5 Non Chill Filtered 0.7L 48% Aberlour Distillery The Aberlour whisky distillery has been located directly on the small river Lour since 1879. This perfect warehouse is used to its full potential in whisky production, using the soft water of the Lour, which rises from the granite rocks. To refine the taste of its whiskies, the Aberlour distillery is known for finishing in bourbon and sherry casks, which clearly characterize the taste of the whiskies. A rare cask If you translate Casg Annamh from Gaelic into German, this means 'rare cask', which is quite fitting, because only a limited number of casks are available from Batch 5. The selected casks are finished in Oloroso sherry casks, which wonderfully complement the taste of the Aberlour distillery. In terms of taste, you can look forward to a rich, intense whisky that is bursting with fruity overtones. Spice notes such as anise, ginger or cinnamon round off the taste experience.

Bushmills 10 year old Irish single malt whiskey Causeway Collection 2021 German release Cuvee finish 0.7L 54.8% Bushmills distillery The Bushmills whisky distillery is the oldest distillery still in existence in Northern Ireland. Inspired by the Giant's Causway, a formation of over 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns, which is now a stone's throw away, the whisky distillers Bushmills developed the Causeway Collection, which is now released annually and now includes 12 bottlings. In addition to the 30 Year Old New American Oak Cask, the second bottling is now being released for the German market. Characteristics The Bushmills 10 year old Causeway Collection 2021 cuvee finish is a non chill-filtered whisky that was bottled at cask strength and as a limited edition. It is not entirely clear whether coloring was used, but it is assumed that it is probably colored. The top notes of this whisky are fruity, with a fresh lemon zest aroma, vanilla and a hint of oak. On the palate, the vanilla sweetness that is typical of Bushmills comes through more clearly, with toffee notes joining in and underlining the fresh lemon flavor. Spice notes of allspice are more in the background, but clearly enough in the foreground to be recognizable. The aftertaste is again characterized by citrus freshness and the stronger notes of oak.

Bowmore Single Malt Whisky 21 Years Aston Martin Masters Selection 0.7L 51.8% Whisky meets automotive design In cooperation with the well-known luxury car brand Aston Martin and after the successful refueling in 2020 with the Bowmore DB5 1964, Bowmore is presenting the new Masters Selection - Edition1 together with Aston Martin. Responsible for the new edition are Bowmore Master Blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichmann. The base for the new edition was a 21-year-old Bowmore that matured in both First Fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. This was married with older matured products. The aromas on the nose are primarily sweet and reminiscent of Manuka honey and maple syrup. Fine notes of hazelnuts and leather, as well as various spices, underline these sweet notes. A very soft, powerful whisky presents itself on the palate. Sherry notes are more clearly evident here. Other aromas are dark chocolate, spicy black pepper, vanilla and coffee. The finish is a warming whisky with sweet and spicy oak notes.

Cardhu 14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky Special Release 2021 0.7L 55.5% The Story of Legends Untold 2021 For 2021, the global manufacturer and distributor of alcoholic beverages Diageo has come up with a very special special release. The series contains eight whiskies from seven distilleries, each from four different whisky regions in Scotland. The distilleries' stocks were searched through and a mixture of 8- to 26-year-old whiskies was chosen to present to the customer. Each whisky has undergone a unique maturation process and is inspired by the respective mythical creatures that, according to legend, can be found in the respective whisky regions and around the distilleries themselves. Special Release Cardhu The bottling of the Cardhu distillery represents the mystical world of Scottish legends and myths that exist around the distillery. The label of the Cardhu bottling already gives a small insight into this world with its distinctive, colorful and mystical nature. The bright red tree shown is reminiscent of Scarlet Blooms Of Black Rock: a mysterious, bright red tree grew out of a hill of black rock. It was enveloped in a fine honey scent mixed with beguiling spice notes. When the tree lost its leaves and died, a distillery was created. These aromas of this legend have now been captured in the Legends Untold Cardhu! Behind the 2021 Reales is a 14-year-old Cardhu, which is characterized by gentle aromas. The texture is irresistibly soft, followed by a sweet taste reminiscent of toffee. Floral notes with a pleasant honey sweetness round off the taste.

Mortlach 13 Year Old Single Malt Whisky Special Release 2021 0.7L 55.9% Diageo Special Release 2021 With the special series, the company wants to set a foot in a different direction today. The special release has ushered in a time of 'change' in which the company wants to show that the range of taste expression is being expanded more and more clearly. In doing so, the company not only relies on special finishes, but also takes this path directly in the production of the whiskies. The 2021 release shows that it is easy to reinterpret the taste profiles of classic distilleries. Not losing the actual character, emphasizing certain nuances but also providing surprises was a challenge, but one that was once again implemented perfectly. Mortlach 13 Years Release So what gives Mortlach whiskies their special character? Legend has it that it is the mighty call of the wolf that echoes through the halls of the distillery at nightfall in the light of the full moon, giving each whisky its extraordinary, almost magical character. The 13-year-old Mortlach from the Speyside distillery Dufftown was finished in new and re-filled American oak barrels. It initially appears very mild on the nose, with subtle wood notes and a hint of sweet and sour red currants. This is followed by an unexpected wave of swampy notes of heather and herbs, reminiscent of the wolf's habitat. On the palate, the Mortlach 13 Years is very full-bodied and at the same time has a very soft mouthfeel. In addition to the aromas already present, you can now also detect vanilla, clear oak notes and a certain spiciness or sharpness. The finish is surprisingly long-lasting and all the aromas mentioned above make a reappearance here.

Oban Single Malt Whisky 12 Years Special Release 2021 0.7L 56.2% Legends Untold-Diageo Special Release 2021 Diageo's new special series is a tribute to the mysterious fairy-tale worlds of Scottish history. According to various legends, mythical creatures have always protected the sometimes very remote distilleries. Each distillery has its very own creatures, after which the 2021 bottlings were created and with which they were brought to life, so to speak. Not only through taste but also through the images of the well-known illustrator Ken Taylor, the mythical creatures are brought back to life through different interpretations. The Legends Untold series apparently contains some of the most valuable reserves still maturing in Scotland The legend of the Oban distillery First of all, you have to know where exactly the distillery is located. It is located exactly between the Highlands and the Isles. According to legend, twin foxes were born here in light and darkness. The foxes balance each other out, so to speak, they are the Scottish yin and yang. The Oban 12 years in the Legends Untold series has taken this to heart and created a fine harmony between the Highland notes and those of the Isles.

Royal Lochnagar Single Malt Whisky 16 Years Special Release 2021 0.7L 57.5% Legends Untold experience series With this special series, Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson has managed to select and refine each hand-picked single malt so appropriately that you really feel like you can sense the spirit of the respective distillery legend in every bottling. In addition to the artfully designed bottle and packaging designs by illustrator Ken Taylor, which perfectly embodies each individual creature, another special feature has been thought up with the packaging: There is a QR code on each package. If you scan this, the legends are 'unlocked', so to speak, and a multisensory experience begins! This is followed by the telling of the story of the single malts and a mixed reality tasting. Royal Lochnagar 16 years There is also a special legend for Royal Lochnagar. The lands of Royal Deeside are said to have been covered in thick, cold fog for decades. One day a proud, white stallion rode up and broke through this eternal, icy veil. To this day, his rapid gallop is said to drive the stills of Royal Lochnagar and give each single malt its sparkling, fresh, almost spring-like character. Talisker Single Malt Whisky 8 Years Special Release 2021 0.7L 59.7% Diageos Special Releases Towards the end of the 1980s, the company tried for the first time to establish a limited release series on the market with the well-known 'Classic Malts' series. At that time, the series comprised six single malts from six distilleries. Interest in older or rarer malt bottlings quickly grew, which was finally covered by the 'Rare Malt' series known between 1995 and 2005. Even before these special bottlings were completed, it was quickly noticed that the demand for special bottlings with a distinctive character and limited bottlings at cask strength was enormous. In 2001, the 'Special Releases' series with an annual collection was therefore launched. This year, 2021, the series has been given the motto 'Legends Untold', presenting a single malt collection that presents the stories and their guardians in a unique way. Talisker 'The Rogue Seafury' From the legend of the oldest still operating distillery on the Isle of Skye, the Talisker distillery, comes the Leviathan sea dragon of the Loch, who watches over his home. He is said to give the Talisker whisky its distinctive salty character. This presents an aroma of sweetness and maritime saltiness at the same time, seaweed and iodine mix with the aromas of barley and hazel, and wood aromas can be perceived in the background. On the palate, salty notes are accompanied by sweet peat smoke. Slightly spicy pepper notes round off the palate. The finish is warming and ends with smoky notes.

Arran 21 year old Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd As the name of the distillery might suggest, it is located on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. In direct comparison with other distilleries in the whisky region of Scotland, Arran is a very young distillery. Harold J. Currie only started building the distillery in 1991. The name may sound familiar to some, as Currie had already gained a lot of experience over the years as managing director of Seagram. The distillery is still owned by Currie today, making it one of the few privately run distilleries in the country. Arran 21 years As simple and straightforward as the bottle and label design may be, the Arran 21 years has all the more to offer in terms of taste: Fine sherry notes ensure great complexity in the whisky, but at the same time give it fine fruity-sweet notes. These are accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, spicy ginger notes and, above all, strong, spicy oak tones. The finish is also impressive with long-lasting and perfectly balanced aromas.

Macallan A Night on Earth in Scotland Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% Speyside Distillery In the world of whisky, Macallan from Easter Elchies is one of the best known and most valued whisky producers on the scene. The distillery has been in existence since 1824, so you could say that a lot of expertise and passion goes into its work. With its small wash and sprit stills, the distillery is based on the originals from 1824 and so produces in smaller quantities, which is why limited editions are always in high demand. The local source 'Ringmoren Burn' is used for production and the whisky is stored exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks. A night on Earth in Scotland With the new special edition 'A night on Earth in Scotland', Macallan is paying homage to New Year's Eve, as it is known in Scotland, 'Hogmanay'. Together with the renowned Japanese-French illustrator 'Erica Dorn', the exciting bottle and packaging design was created to remind people of the celebration rituals/fireworks that people all over the world enjoy at the turn of the year. It is also intended to remind people of various traditions that are usually observed in Scotland on New Year's Eve: Vanilla aroma, for example, stands for Scottish shortbread, which is a popular gift on New Year's Eve. Benromach Speyside Single Malt Whisky 21 years 0.7L 43% Benromach Distillery The family-run distillery is known for its traditional whisky and small batch bottlings. It is the smallest whisky distillery in Speyside and employs just two people. After years of inactivity, the distillery was officially reopened by Prince Charles in 1998. The distillery's 21-year-old complements the Classic Lein in a special way: It embodies the handmade character through and through. The whisky was distilled in the year of the reopening. After distillation, it was matured in oak barrels in which sherry had previously been stored. This gives the whisky not only its deep amber tone, but also distinctive sherry notes. On the nose, this is accompanied by citrus, cinnamon and oak notes. On the palate, spicy notes of ginger and pepper as well as fruity orange notes complement the taste profile. In the background, the smoky undertone known for Benromach whisky can be detected, which intensifies further in the finish.

Torabhaig The Legacy Allt Gleann Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 46% Torabhaig Distillery The Scottish whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye is still a relatively young distillery, having only started operations in 2017. On the grounds of a well-preserved farm, the walls of the distillery were built from the stones of the nearby castle ruins 'Camus'. It was important to the founders of the distillery to incorporate as much history as possible into the construction of the distillery. This includes an old mill wheel, which has been restored and retrofitted and is now operated with the cooling water from the distillery. The young distillers were also trained by experienced distillers who passed on their centuries-old knowledge to the next generation. The Legacy Series This series is intended to reflect the distillery's journey from 2017 to its coming of age in 2028. As you might expect, all bottlings in the series are strictly limited, Allt Gleann to around 4,800 bottles. Compared to its predecessor, the Allt Gleann has already improved considerably in terms of peat aromas. It is a very characterful whisky with depth and complexity. In addition to the distinctive peat notes, fruity and smoky notes also accompany the tasting.

Isle of Jura 12 Years Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% Signature Range Series The 12 Years Single Malt is presented in a new guise in the already well-known Signature Range series. The series represents the company's special style. The 12-year-old can safely be classified above the 10-year-old and the Jura Journey with no age statement. This means that it appeals not only to beginners, but also to the odd whisky expert who wants to be inspired by the perfectly balanced aromas. At the beginning there are aromas of fine vanilla, toffee and malt and a subtle hint of pear. The peat smoke then becomes more apparent on the palate, along with notes of iodine, leather and a pinch of salt, although the whisky always appears very soft and non-alcoholic. The aroma of oak wood lingers more in the background, heralding the surprisingly long, soft finish characterized by light peat. Here, too, vanilla, malt and citrus accompany the palate before toasted oak wood takes over.

Crabbie 12 Years Lightly Peated Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 40% John Crabbie & Co If you have previously held bottlings with the brand name Crabbie, these were whisky bottlings from third-party stocks. Since the brand does not (yet) have its own production facility, this is to open under the name 'Crabbie Micro Distillery', a peated single malt from another island distillery, which is not named, was used here. Aroma: intense with a malty aroma, fresh citrus notes. Taste: full-bodied whisky, fine honey notes with orange notes and green tea. Finish: long and smoky with a fine peppery spice.

Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch Whisky 33 Years The Ian Hunter Story Book 3 Source Protector 0.7L 49.9% Islay Whisky Whisky specialists know what makes whisky from the island of Islay so special: a much stronger peat aroma characterizes the whisky from the eight remaining local whisky distilleries. One of these eight is the Laphroaig distillery. Alongside the Bowmore distillery, these two are the only ones on the island that still produce some of the malt needed to make whisky themselves. This allows the distilleries to better influence the roasting with peat and create another, very unique character. Ian Hunter Ian Hunter was the last heir to the founding Johnston family, who once founded the Laphroaig brand. From 1908-1944, Hunter had the honor of successfully leading the family business. To honor him, the series 'The Ian Hunter' - Story Book Series was developed. It is a fifteen-part series of rare single malt bottlings, each of which represents a special chapter in Ian Hunter's life. Story Book 3 is a whisky distilled in 1987. It represents Hunter's influence and is the only whisky he ever helped to develop. It matured in refilled ex-bourbon barrels for a good 33 years and is bottled at 49.9% ABV.

Macalllan Single Malt Whisky M Decanter Release 2020 0.7L 45% Master Series In the Master Series, Macallan embodies two of the strengths it has developed over the centuries. Firstly, the storage in oak sherry casks and secondly, the fact that Macallan does not need any additional coloring to preserve the fascinating color reflections. With the 2020 release, Macallan's M series is already presenting its eighth whisky masterpiece. Like its predecessors in the series, it is also strictly limited and is probably more for whisky connoisseurs. In terms of color, it stands out from its competitors with its strong, dark color. As always, the bottle design of the Single Malt M Decanter Release 2020 is a real eye-catcher. The aromas have been shaped by a long maturation in sherry casks, so it presents itself with rich notes of exotic fruits, subtle sweetness and spicy notes.
