Don Papa Rum 10 Years 0.7L 40% Philippine Rum The Bleading Heart Rum Company, which is responsible for Don Papa Rum, chose the island of Negros in the Philippines for growing sugar cane. The ideal climate and tradition in growing the plant have characterized this island for many centuries. The rum gets its name from one of the few known heroes of the Philippine Revolution, 'Papa Isio or Don Papa'. It stands for the fact that you should never give up hope and that even as a simple man (that's what he was, a simple worker on the sugar cane plantation) you can achieve a lot. Don Papa Rum 10 Years Don Papa Rum has been known for some time now and is enjoying ever increasing popularity. After the Don Papa Rum or the Don Papa Sherry Edition comes the 'Don Papa 10 Years'. This is a limited small batch rum that was stored in re-charred barrels. This not only gave it a deep brown color over 10 years, but also a unique aroma. Full-bodied and with a soft, long-lasting finish, it is mainly vanilla and oak aromas that characterize the taste.

Berry Bros & Rudd Nicaraguan Single Cask Rum 13 Years 0.7L 66.7% Berry Bros. & Rudd History In 1698, it was the widow Bourne who we have to thank for what we now know as the independent bottler 'Berry Bros. & Rudd'. The young woman founded a merchant's shop called 'The Coffee Mill' in London. By 1760, the business had developed such a good reputation that even the royal court got wind of it. During the reign of King George the 3rd, they supplied the royal family with wine, whisky or gin, and they still do so today! In 1854, two brothers (George and Henry) took over the business, which has been known since then as 'Berry Brothers'. When a well-known wine connoisseur by the name of Major Hugh Rudd joined the business in 1914, the company name was changed to the one we know today, namely 'Berry Bros. & Rudd. Product description The Nicaragua Single Cask 13 YO is a cask strength bottling. This means that the rum was not diluted with drinking water before bottling, but bottled at pure cask strength. As the name suggests, it comes from Central America. The dark Berry Bros. & Rudd Nicaragua Single Cask matured for 13 years in oak barrels and was able to develop a spicy aroma. Here it is cinnamon and cloves as well as the aroma of oak that are predominantly recognizable. On the palate these spicy notes are accompanied by tropical hints. Pineapple and mango are the aromas that can be tasted most clearly here. The finish is long-lasting and has warming spicy notes.

Berry Bros & Rudd Nicaragua Rum 14 years 0.7L 46% Nicaragua The country in Latin America is probably best known for its political instability, poverty and climate problems. The most important industry in Nicaragua is probably the sugar industry. With around 17,000 tons of sugar per day, this accounts for around four percent of the gross domestic product. For several years now, however, Central America has managed to consolidate its international presence again with domestic products. Nicaragua has become increasingly well-known and popular for rum and cigars in particular in recent years. The independent British bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd has also discovered this potential and has added a rum from Nicaragua to its range. The result is the Berry Bros. & Rudd Nicaragua Rum 14YO. It is very complex in aroma and taste, the 14-year maturation period is perfectly balanced here. Clearly fruity notes with sweet undertones set the tone. Warming spicy notes linger in the background, and in the finish there are notes of honey and molasses as well as bitter notes of tobacco or oak.

The spirits store has been around since 1698, and back then even the British royal family was so convinced by the company that they quickly appointed Berry Bros. & Rudd as a purveyor to the court. Over the centuries they have been able to develop into an increasingly larger and, above all, more successful company. Even today they still have a wide range of spirits in their extensive range and sell them as independent bottlers. But our own products such as Berry's Own Rum have also found a permanent place in the product range. Barbados Single Cask The rum bottled as Cask Strength is an exclusive bottling that has been put together with great care. It was distilled by t in Barbados. It is therefore no wonder that this rum is an absolute high-class premium rum, as Foursquare is known worldwide for its first-class distillates. The rum, which has been aged for 12 years, has a full-bodied and complex aroma. On the one hand, there are notes of yellow fruits and caramel, but bitter tobacco notes can also be detected. In addition to the best conditions for growing sugar cane, it is obvious that a rum distillery is also located here. This has been here since 1870. With its extraordinary nature and unique ecosystem, the island has many facets to offer. In order to express this and bring it to the world, it was decided to develop 'The Wild Island Edition'. It pays homage to wild nature, which is often still so original and untouched. Savanna Traditionnel 2003 16YO 'Armagnac Finish' The fourth product in 'The Wild Island' special edition is the Traditionnel 2003 16 YO 'Armagnac Finish'. It most closely reflects the typical rum character of Savanna. At first it is very intense and rich on the nose, but clear aromas cannot yet be detected. It needs some time to fully develop. Four new rums with very different taste profiles were created. Grad Agricole 2012 6YO Calvados Finish One of the four special bottlings is the 'Calvados Finish' Rhum Agricole. This has many fruity nuances on the nose. Apples, pears, a hint of vanilla and warm wood make you want more. On the palate it seems a little heavier compared to the light aromas on the nose. It is reminiscent of earthy, mineral tones, but then the fresh aromas come back at the end. Sweet sugar cane, vanilla and here the aroma of the Calvados comes through more clearly. In the finish, there are more bitter aromas of wood and some notes reminiscent of orange.

Seagram began producing rum in 1944 in the Long Pond distillery in Jamaica under the name 'Captain Morgan Rum Company'. The spiced rum as we know Captain Morgan today is thanks to a family of pharmacists from Kingston. They bought the raw rum and then refined it with herbs and spices, allowed it to mature and bottled it for sale. The CEO of Seagram took notice and ultimately bought the distribution rights. Today Captain Morgan belongs to the Diageo group and has been the best-selling rum brand in the world since 2004, with 54 million litres of rum sold. Mango & Pineapple The new flavoured Captain Morgan Mango & Pineapple is ideal for cocktails and long drinks. When you open the bottle, a tropical bouquet unfolds. The basis of this flavoured rum is Captain Morgan Black, which matures in burnt-out wooden barrels after distillation. Aromas of roasted coffee beans, vanilla and dark chocolate form the basis. This is then flavoured with notes of ripe mango and pineapple. This creates a coppery rum with its own character. The sweetness and acidity of mango and pineapple are perfectly matched and are reminiscent of a holiday in the Caribbean.

Once a simple foreman on a sugar cane plantation, the name Don Papa/Papa Iso today stands for the hero of the Philippine revolution. In memory of this brave and successful man, there is now the well-known brand of Don Papa Rum, which comes from the Philippine island of Negros. Today it is loved around the world for its high quality and exceptional taste, and not just by rum connoisseurs. Sherry Cask limited Edition The basic distillate for this blended rum is the same, but after distillation and an initial maturation of 4 years in oak barrels, it is transferred to four different sherry barrels (Pedro Ximenez, Cream, Palo Cortado and Fino). The Don Papa rum is stored there for a further 18 months, until they are reunited and finally bottled. During this time and through the selection of the different types of barrels, the rum was able to develop a very fruity, sweet bouquet. Nutty aromas combine with the fruity notes of the sherry, vanilla, plums and figs remain in the background and lead into a complex, long-lasting finish.

Caroni Navy Rum Extra Strong 100th Anniversary 0.7L 51.4% Caroni Founded in 1918 and closed in 2002, the Caroni distillery can proudly claim to have built up a good reputation over the many years of business. The distillery was built right next to a sugar cane plantation and thus had the best conditions for rum distillation. After the sugar cane was harvested and processed into sugar, a waste product, molasses, was created in the production process. However, the farmers recognized the potential of this molasses, which was delivered to the distillery, fermented and then distilled into Caroni rum. Since the distillery had to close in 2002, Caroni rum has not been forgotten, because thanks to the Italian Luca Gargano we can still enjoy the rum. He discovered the closed distillery while on holiday on the island and, with the help of the independent bottler La Maison du Whisky, bought up the stock of rum barrels. Caroni rum has become an absolute collector's item and has achieved cult status among rum lovers. 100-year anniversary To mark the distillery's 100-year anniversary, Caroni has of course also designed a special product. The bottle design is reminiscent of the Caroni style of the founding years in 1940. The contents are an 18-year-old rum that was matured on the Caribbean island of Trinidad and then bottled at a drinking strength of 51.4% vol. The aroma is reminiscent of fruit, roasted nuts and bitter coffee and leather notes. On the palate it is oily with subtle fruit notes. Here, too, the roasted aromas as well as coffee, molasses and leather are noticeable and end in a long finish.

Bacardi Rum Gran Reserva Especial 16 Years Limited Edition Rum 1.0L 45% Bacardi When it comes to rum, the Bacardi brand is one of the best-known and best-selling rum brands in the world. The history of the distillery began in the middle of the 19th century, founded in Santiago de Cuba by Facundo Bacardi i Masso. The brand is known across all national borders thanks to the bat depicted on the label. This is a symbol of luck in Cuba. Bacardi Gran Reserva Especial 16 years Bacardi is already known for an 8-year-old Gran Reserva, but this is now topped by a rum that is twice as old. In terms of taste, the 16-year-old Bacardi can definitely keep up with the high-quality single malts of the world. It delivers warming wood notes paired with fruity stone fruit and caramel notes.

Malteco Rum Viejo Dorado 1.0L 40% Ron Malteco Rum Who do we have to thank for the internationally famous Ron Malteco rum? Guatemalan style, so it can only come from the country of the same name... But that's wrong. Strictly speaking, we have Ron Malteco rum to thank for a small distillery in Panama. 'Golden Rum' The rum from Malteco, also known as 'Golden Rum', is the matured brother of the Malteco Seco Puro, which is also in our range. The Malteco Seco Puro is of course also matured, but in bottles, whereas the Viejo Dorado is matured in oak barrels. The rum also bears the name 'Superiore', which indicates a long maturation phase and thus places the rum in the premium segment. Premium taste In terms of aroma and taste, the Viejo Dorado has just enough to offer so that it is not overloaded, but on the other hand not too boring. The dryness known from the Seco Puro can be found again with a hint of sweet notes. The Viejo Dorado goes a step further, fruity overtones can also be detected here. The sweetness comes from high-quality vanilla, and spice notes provide a certain bite. It is recommended to enjoy it pure, with or without ice, but the Viejo Dorado is also not too good for use in cocktails.

Malteco Rum Seco Puro 1.0L 37.5% White rum This Blanco rum is based on an ancient original recipe from the 'Maestro Cantineros'. The recipe comes from Guatemala, where there are optimal conditions for growing sugar cane. Located in the very south of the country, directly on the Pacific coast, the country is characterized by volcanic soil. For some, this may be dead land, but for growing sugar cane it is the best foundation you can get. Due to the large amounts of minerals contained in the soil, the sugar cane grows particularly well on the plantations and also acquires a very unique taste. Distillation takes place after the harvest, also using a very traditional method. The difference to similar products such as brown rum is that Seco Pure is not matured in oak barrels, but is bottled directly after distillation and the maturation takes place in the bottles. Aromas of Malteco Seco Puro On the nose, clear notes of fresh herbs, liquorice and a hint of sweet almond are first noticeable. These aromas also prevail on the palate, which is exactly what the name 'Seco Puro' stands for. 'Seco' means dry, Puro' stands for pure and purity. In terms of taste, the style of Seco Puro can be described as very good with dry and some sweet notes.

Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 years 0.7L 43% Worldwide enthusiasm The Appleton Estate distillery in the Caribbean has existed since 1749, making it the oldest distillery in Jamaica and one of the best known and most popular rum distilleries. It is noteworthy that Appleton is one of the few spirits distilleries that has been in continuous operation since its founding and produces the highest quality rum! The company was independent until the beginning of the 20th century, when it was taken over by J.Wray & Nephew in 1916 and then bought again by Campari a good 100 years later. Responsible for the high-quality rum and its special taste is a woman, almost as rare as the distillery's rum, namely master blender Joy Spence. Appleton Estate Rare Blend Rum The newest rum from the distillery's product range is available in different ages: starting with the 12 YO up to the 18-year-old, this blended rum series offers great taste experiences. The 12 YO moves in its aroma between fruity and spicy notes. You will find typical Jamaican notes here as well as well-known aromas such as vanilla and oak, and it always has a particularly mild effect on the palate.

Berry's Own Finest Haiti Rum 9 Years 0.7L 46% The Forgotten Island If you think of Haiti today, most people would never suspect that the island in the Caribbean was once a stronghold of sugar production; more than half of the island was active in this sector and was the biggest driver of rum in the Caribbean. It was Christopher Columbus who discovered the island on his first voyage in the name of the crown and sugar cane was already being grown there in 1492. In contrast to the now famous rum from the Dominican Republic, its style can be described as more 'French'. Berrys Own Finest Haiti Rum 9 Years The 9-year-old Haiti Rum is a rum bottling from 2004 and belongs to the 'Berry's Own Selection' series. Bottled in 2013, the Caribbean rum impresses on the nose with its oak spice, dark toffee notes and smoky aroma. On the palate, you then surprisingly discover fruity notes that are reminiscent of melon, among other things, before the Haiti rum then lingers in your memory with a long finish.

Admiral Rodney HMS Royal Oak Extra Old Rum 0.7L 40% St. Lucia Distillers Group of Companies What place in the world could be more suitable for rum production than the Caribbean? It has always been a tradition to make the finest, high-quality rum from sugar cane. This tradition is also maintained in the Roseau Valley on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. This is home to the St. Lucia Distillers Group, which is world-famous for the rum brand 'Admiral Rodney'. It is a merger of two family distilleries, those of the Bernard family and the Geest family. Together they wanted to set themselves apart from the mass production of rum and were able to specialise in the production of the finest, high-quality rum through modernisation and expansion, and with great success. In recent years, the rum distillery has won several international competitions and also impresses with its sustainability and environmental protection. Golden mean The Admiral Rodney HMS Royal Oak is in the middle between the Princessa and the Formidable. The blends used for the Royal Oak matured in old US bourbon barrels for between 7 and 12 years. If you taste this high-quality rum, it immediately leaves a lasting impression. It is characteristic, but still harmonious at the same time. As with the other two products in the series, a pleasant sweetness in combination with fruity notes plays a role at the beginning. As a little time passes, the spicy notes of the oak barrels appear. These have a spicy to peppery effect, but then give way to finer notes such as caramel and vanilla in the finish.

Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa Fine & Mature Rum 0.7L 40% Namesake The Spanish ship 'HMS Princessa' is the namesake for the fantastic Admiral Rum. The ship was captured by the British in 1780 during the naval battle of Cape St. Vincent and was the first ship to sign up for the Battle of Les Saintes. As is often the case with rums, this one is also a blended rum and is a mixture of exclusive rums that have matured in American white oak barrels for between five and nine years. Blending these rums has created a complex, perfectly coordinated aroma. These can be seen on the nose in the form of honey sweetness, raisins and a hint of tobacco. When tasting, it offers a sweet aroma on the palate that is strongly reminiscent of brown sugar or crème brûlee. The wonderful aroma of the oak wood, which comes from storage, is perfectly presented and not too intrusive. The Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa Rum ends in a long-lasting finish. The taste shows the complexity of the rum once again, as well as sweet notes of caramel and tropical spices.

Velier Royal Navy Very Old Rum 0.7L 57.18% Royal Navy Very Old Rum is a blended rum by chef Mr. Luca Gargano made from three different rums from different regions. The label also shows that less is often more. Every rum lover will be happy here, because the label reveals the most important information about the three rums: Trinidad Rum, Caroni, 20 years of tropical maturation; Guyana Rum, Demerara Rum 15 years of continental maturation and Jamaica Rum, Pure Single Rum +12 years of drop maturation. The place of blending and bottling is also visible. The uncolored rum appears in the glass with a dark brown color. The nose initially reveals terracotta notes, accompanied by fruit notes such as banana, ripe pineapple, raisins and a strong aroma of vanilla. It is a little dry on the palate, the aroma ranges from bitter notes such as dark chocolate and bitter orange to fruity-sweet notes such as malt and vanilla. The high alcohol content, as is usual for a Navy Strength, does not have a negative impact, on the contrary, it is well integrated here.

Espero Ron Ultimo 0.7L 42% Highest quality The rum of the Ron Espero brand stands for the highest quality. The story began with a Spanish explorer, governor and conqueror who crossed Panama from the Atlantic to the Pacific in 1513. He was the first European to reach his goal. After further expeditions, he finally settled on the island of 'Hispanola', now known as the Dominican Republic, and founded his own settlement there. Ron Espero Ultimo The Ultimo from Ron Espero is a perfectly balanced blended rum made from up to 15 different types of rum, all of them solera or vintage rums from the Dominican Republic. After blending, further maturation takes place in selected former cognac barrels. A multifaceted aroma of fruits such as bananas and Caribbean spices such as vanilla or coffee was able to develop. The subtle aroma of the cognac is also noticeable on the palate.

Bristol Rum Caroni Trinidad and Tobago 1997/2019 0.7L 56.4% Trinidad Rum 1997/2019 A rum was distilled in column stills at the Caroni distillery on Trinidad and Tobago, which ultimately matured for 22 years on the island before being bottled at 56.4% vol. after another year in the warehouses of Bristol in Great Britain. The high alcohol content should not scare you, because on the palate the Trinidad & Tobago 1997/2019 is surprisingly soft and full-bodied. The complex aroma offers notes of dried fruit, spices and oak spices, but also sweet notes reminiscent of dark chocolate or toffee.

Bristol Rum Enmore Guyana 30 years 1988/2018 Sherry Cask finish 0.7L 46.5% Product information Bristol Enmore Guyana The independent bottler Bristol from the United Kingdom has once again done a great job and made a wonderful rum available. This is an Enmore product that was first finished in re-filled bourbon barrels and then in sherry barrels. This rum was distilled in 1988 and then matured for twenty years in used bourbon barrels. This is how a true premium product was created. In aroma, it offers a beguiling scent of vanilla and smoke, in taste a pleasant sweetness and the fruitiness of exotic fruit. You can also sense spicy notes and subtle notes of wild herbs. And the sherry cask finish leaves nothing to be desired for rum connoisseurs.

Bristol Rum Port Morant Demerara Guyana 2008/2018 0.7L 44% What makes Port Morant Rum special? Not only does it come from a distillery that has already been closed, but the way it is produced also makes Port Morant Rum a very special representative in its field. Despite the closure, the distillery's peculiarities can live on. The rum's unmistakable taste is created during production, because here there is not the usual copper or stainless steel still, but a wooden still! After being distilled in this construction, it was then matured again in an oak barrel for a decade. Distillation and maturation create a deep dark color and an absolutely unmistakable aroma. It is already very complex in taste, but has a great balance between complexity and elegance, with notes such as sweet toffee, dried fruit and of course oak notes.

Bristol Trinidad and Tobago Rum 2006/2019 Cask 472/1 Limited Edition 0.7L 59.8% Trinidad & Tobago Getting an exquisite rum from the Caribbean island state of Trinidad and Tobago has become a rarity these days. After the Caroni Distillery closed its doors in 2002, the only company left to produce rum is the Trinidad Distillers Group. Despite the few products still available, rum from Trinidad and Tobago has not lost its good reputation and is still considered one of the best rums in the world. Bristol Trinidad & Tobago 2006/2019 Single Cask No. 472/1 We have an independent bottler to thank for the fact that a few of these rarities can still be found on our European market from time to time, even if often only as a limited edition. One of these excellent products is the Bristol Trinidad and Tobago distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2019. It was distilled from molasses and finally bottled at cask strength without additives. Its aroma speaks for the island state: tropical fruit notes are complemented by a fine oak spice which is accompanied by other Caribbean spice notes and ends in a great, long-lasting finish.
