Arran Barrel Reserve Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 43%Arran Barrel Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Natural Purity from the Isle of Arran Arran Barrel Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky begins its life as pure Scottish rainwater at Loch Na Davie, high in the hills above the distillery in Lochranza. On its way down to the valley, the clear water flows down the Easan Biorach stream and passes six waterfalls – a natural purification process that contributes to the exceptional quality of this whisky. The barley comes as whole grain from select maltings on the Scottish mainland and is gently milled in Lochranza. The maturation process then begins in the warehouses on Arran, where the whisky matures for years in carefully selected oak casks. Arran Barrel Reserve is matured in 100% ex-bourbon casks, which impart its light color and fruity-sweet character. Cask quality is paramount at Arran. No caramel is added for color, nor is chill filtration used, which could remove aromas from the whisky. This ensures that the character remains completely natural, clear, and unadulterated. Bottled at 43% ABV, Arran Barrel Reserve impresses with fresh, light, and sweet fruit notes typical of the distillery. On the palate, it is lively, smooth, and harmonious – with a pleasant vanilla sweetness from the bourbon cask and a clear, pure structure. This no-age-statement single malt is a fantastic discovery and is perfect for any occasion: neat, on the rocks, or as a high-quality base for long drinks and whisky cocktails. Aberlour Single Malt Whisky Casg Annamh Batch 4 Non Chill Filtered 1.0L 48% Aberlour The name Aberlour means 'mouth of the Lour' because it was built at the foot of the Lour. The distillery's whiskies are known for their sweet rather than smoky aromas. They mature mainly in sherry or wine casks, which contribute to the fruity-sweet aromas. In 1879, a good 50 years after it was founded, the distillery burned down. It was James Fleming who rebuilt the distillery and kept the most modern distillery of the time alive. Shortly before the turn of the century, in 1898, another fire destroyed most of the Abalour buildings and supplies. Here too, they did not let this get them down and quickly rebuilt the distillery. Aberlour Casg Annamh The name 'Casg Annamh' means 'rare barrel' in Gaelic and probably refers to the storage in the rare Oloroso sherry casks. In addition to this type of cask, the blend also consists of whisky from two different American white oak casks. The use of these two types creates a fine, fruity whisky for which Aberlour is also known. When tasting, the first aromas to emerge on the nose are of blood orange, sweet cherries, fresh ginger and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with other fruity notes. Ripe peaches, apple pie with cinnamon and other spices such as cloves and anise. In the finish, the Aberklour Casg Annamh can further develop the impression it leaves behind. It is long-lasting and full-bodied, spices and notes of the barrel types leave a great taste.

Benromach Single Malt Whisky 10 years 0.7L 43% The Benromach distillery, built in 1898 in Forres near Elgin, was taken over by the Urquhart family in 1993. Their aim was to revive the lost Speyside style with malted barley and a hint of peat smoke. This traditional process dates back to the time when all malthouses in Speyside used peat as fuel, which gave the Benromach whiskies their characteristic taste. The reopening of the distillery in 1998 by Prince Charles marked the return of a lost Speyside single malt style. The distillery relies on tradition and craftsmanship. The highly qualified master distillers rely exclusively on their senses and experience to produce the award-winning handmade whisky. The four ingredients barley, water, yeast and a human touch form the basis. The mash is stirred by hand, water flow and grist are manually controlled and fermentation takes place in larch washbacks. Double distillation in bespoke copper stills produces a medium-strength spirit suitable for variable maturation periods. The quality of the casks, particularly first-fill oak casks after wort with bourbon or sherry, is crucial to the flavour and character of the whisky. The maturation process is strictly controlled to ensure excellent quality standards. The 10-year-old Benromach Single Malt Whisky is a golden amber. Sweet green apple and pear unfold on the nose, accompanied by creamy dark honey. Gentle smoke is accompanied by a development of gentle vanilla notes. On the palate, gentle flavours of malted grain and compote combine with warm toffee and a hint of black cherry. The full-bodied finish presents malty grain and gentle smoke.

Single Malt Whisky – the Unique One Among Whiskies!
Why is Single Malt Whisky unique? The name says it all: "Single". This type of whisky is called so because it comes from a single distillery – unlike other whiskies, which are blended from various distillates. As a reliable online spirits shop, we naturally offer a wide selection in our malt whisky shop. We would like to explain what exactly makes malt whisky special. Firstly, it is the grain raw material from which malt whisky is made. This consists exclusively of malted barley. Hence the name "Malt" Whisky, which means "malt" whisky in English. Among spirits, the "water of life" is considered one of the noblest and highest quality – and is a must at any spirits counter.
The high quality is also due to the exceptionally long aging and maturation period, which often exceeds a decade. The age statement refers to the youngest cask used in which the single malt whisky has matured. However, this type of whisky goes through several production steps before you can buy it online. It starts with malting the barley. For this, the barley is soaked in spring water for a few days, then spread out on a surface and turned and dried for up to two weeks. The so-called wort produced through this process is poured into large vessels and fermented by adding yeast. This results in an initial alcohol content of 5%. Then, the consistency is distilled, while the rising vapors of the still unfinished whisky are condensed to an alcohol content of up to 24%. This process is repeated, in short, until the alcohol content rises to 65%-70%. The distillate is then filled into oak barrels and aged for at least three years. During this time, about two percent of the alcohol evaporates each year – only then can the alcohol be called whisky.
In the finishing stage, the flavor is specified by transferring the distillates to other barrels that previously held sherry, rum, or wine after years of aging. Finally, the malt whisky is mixed with water until it reaches an alcohol content of 40% to 46%. This results in four different flavor profiles, which you can also buy online 24 hours a day in our malt whisky shop: smoky, from the smoke used to dry the barley; soft, as the barley was dried without smoke; light, when the whisky has a fruity taste of green grass; and rich, when the aroma has a vanilla influence. But why not see for yourself by ordering your favorite whisky – in our extensive whisky world right here!
Malt Whisky – Single Malt Whisky from the Finest Barley Malt
Malt whisky is made exclusively from barley malt, water, and yeast. It is the most original of all whiskies and the term "water of life" also refers to it. Malt Scotch whisky is divided into two groups. Straight Malt Whisky, which can only contain distillates from one distillery, and Vatted Malt Whisky, which can contain malt whisky from several distilleries. Straight Malt Whisky is further divided into four subcategories. The most famous is Single Malt Whisky, which contains only distillates from a single distillery. The superior version of Single Malt Whisky is Single Single Malt Whisky, for which only a single distillation run of a whisky distillery is used. Additionally, there is Pure Single Malt, which is a distillate from several casks, and Single Cask Malt, which is malt whisky bottled from a single cask and is therefore often strictly limited.
