Even if you can read 'Est. 1886' on the labels of the bottles, this only refers to the founding date of the distillery itself. Until 1999, the distillery was only a whisky distillery. At the turn of the century in the 2000s, the range was expanded to include the well-known gin. Special edition by master distiller Lesley Gracie With the new special edition of Hendrick's Gin called 'Lunar', master distiller Lesley Gracie wants to tease out the special sensitivity for aromas. The idea behind this gin, which is made under the influence of the moon, is that people are particularly sensitive to aromas at night. Bombay Sapphire Gin Sunset Special Edition 0.5L 43% Bombay Sapphire A well-known gin brand that has become an indispensable part of the spirits shelves. The brand was founded in 1987. A recipe that dates back to 1761 is said to be used to produce the well-known gin, but this is often controversial. The distinctive light blue bottle, which has even been trademarked, is characteristic of Bombay Sapphire Gin! 44N Gin 0.5L 44% Comte de Grasse It is a collaborative research that is influenced by the terroir and heritage of the Côte d'Azur. The artisanal yet quite innovative gin 44°N is produced in a former perfume distillery dating back to 1820 in Roure. Here you can find a great interplay between pure science and the fine noses of the gin experts. And the production itself is also a little different to what you are used to from some other manufacturers. After the ultrasonic maceration, vacuum distillation and finally CO2 extraction follow to further strengthen the aroma. A piece of the Côte d'Azur for your home The botanicals naturally come from the wonderful landscape of the Côte d'Azur, some of them are Cade (a more woody botanical), Immortelle (for notes of dried fruit and slightly smoky notes), Mimosa (provides the recognizable maritime toughness) and the Rose Centifolia for the subtle floral notes. On the nose, there are first fresh citrus and grapefruit notes. This is immediately joined by a hint of sea breeze and the juniper is also present. On the palate, the floral notes follow and the aroma of bitter orange and warming pepper notes join in. These continue into the finish and leave a incredibly innovative impression.

A gin full of girl power, because G&J owns well-known brands such as Greenall's and Bloom. In addition to the 'Arabian Edition', the 'Oriental Spiced' and the 'Far East Edition', the 'European Edition' is part of a special series from Opihr Gin. Botanicals that can be found in the more than 500-year history of the Venetian spice trade were used for the 'European Edition' gin. It therefore reflects the different facets of the whole of Europe. Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale Gin 0.7L 41.3% The family story The history of the Tanqueray distillery begins with a decision made by the young Charles Tanqueray. After his family, who worked in silversmithing, emigrated from France to England at the beginning of the 18th century to try their luck there, Charles decided a good 100 years later to leave the family tradition behind and take up a life as a preacher. It is also known that the original recipes of other spirits can be traced back to servants of God, including Charles Tanqueray, who became familiar with the benefits of alcohol at a very early age. Charles aspired to found his own gin distillery, and no sooner said than done, he opened his distillery in the London district of Bloomsbury in 1830. Premium Flavoured Gin After interest in gin increased significantly again in the last decade, the trend has been to offer flavoured products in the gin sector for several years. The Tanqueray distillery is launching the 'Blackcurrant Rayale Gin'. The addition 'Royal' here refers more to the past, because in earlier centuries exotic or expensive fruits such as blackcurrants were only available to the nobility. It is characterised by a strong, fruity taste of blackcurrants and light floral notes that come from the use of black orchids. The typical gin aromas spread across the palate.

Nagu Oak Aged Gin 0.5L 47% Finnish Gin Nagu Gin is produced on the southwest coast of Finland. Here, on a small group of islands called Nagu, you will find the small artisan distillery that was founded in 1996. It lay dormant for several years before two childhood friends plucked up the courage to return to their home island and take over the distillery. The small distillery's first 'new' small batch gin left the distillery in 2019, and two new products followed in 2020, the 'Akvavi' and the 'Oak Aged Gin'. The aim is to give the gin a typically Nordic character, so in addition to juniper, rosemary, fennel and spruce shoots are macerated in alcohol for a good 24 hours. The Oak Aged Gin The 'base gin' was used as the basis for the Oak Aged Gin. This then matures for 100 days in New American Oak barrels. This also creates a fine, sweet vanilla aroma and the notes of the oak wood are also transferred to the gin. The color of the gin also changes as it matures in the barrel. Oak Aged Gin is no longer a clear distillate; the gin has a wonderful amber color.

Roby Marton Premium Gin 0.7L 47% Gin from Italy Under the supervision of master distiller Roby Marton, who also gave this gin its name, the finest gin is created in the original Marton distillery in Italy. The gin brand is the only brand that produces Italian dry gin. Local botanicals are primarily used to make gin. Marton takes these from the regions where he believes the best products are to be found, so he can create infusions regardless of the season of the individual botanicals. There can therefore be differences in taste in the individual small batches. Another special feature of this gin is that it is not filtered or clarified, so the gin appears slightly cloudy. Taste To give this gin a strong aroma, the selected botanicals such as anise, ginger, red pepper and red fruits are macerated in grain distillate for 10 days. The very complex aroma is also evident on the nose. Liquorice, juniper and spicy notes are particularly prominent. If you let the gin take effect on the palate, further aromas are revealed, ranging from citrus to liquorice and ginger notes. The finish of the Roby Marton Gin is comparatively mild and soft compared to the abundance of aromas on the nose and palate.

Amazzoni Gin Rio Negro 0.7L 51% Basil Gin The Rio Negro Gin combines only 3 special Brazilian ingredients that have never been found in a gin before. Of the existing 5 ingredients of the Amazzoni Gin, two important ones have been removed, only cocoa, Brazilian chestnut and water lily are the secret of this extraordinary gin. Just two years after the release of the Amazzoni Gin, the master distiller Alexander Mazza developed a completely new London Dry Gin with a very complex body. It differs from the Amazzoni Gin in several ways: In addition to a cold-pressed botanical infusion, the Rio Negro version also contains juniper, coriander and citrus peel as solid botanicals added directly to the still. This is the Manguin distillery. It was founded by Claude Manguin, who owned dozens of hectares of land in the 1940s and planted pear and peach trees there. In 1957, he tried distilling his fruit varieties and 'La Poire Manguin, a pear brandy, was born. Since 2011, however, two other owners have run the company. Béatrice and Emmanuel Hanquiez have made it their mission with the distillery to capture the pure expression of Provence. Oli`Gin A very special expression of Provence is that of Oli´Gin. A gin is distilled using the pot still method, the aroma of which is dominated by the salty notes of olives. The two main protagonists, olive and juniper, are supported by salt and iodine tones as well as floral violet notes and are rounded off with a hint of truffle.

Nolet's Silver Dry Gin The gin from the family distillery in the Netherlands is by far one of the best gins in the world. It should contain the best that French nature has to offer and be reminiscent of old traditions. The French company Ôdevie Creative Spirits has been behind the Generous Gin since 2015. Tasting Notes On the nose, the Côte d'Azur Gin presents itself with powerful citrus aromas. The fine notes of blooming violets and a hint of Mediterranean basil can also be recognized. Wessex Sicilian Lemon and Ginger Gin 0.7L 40.3% For the British Wessex distillery, it is particularly important to use plants, flowers and herbs that reflect Wessex in medieval times. Anglo-Saxon manuscripts and herbaria were particularly helpful for this research, as they provided information on exactly what was being planted at that time and also on the healing properties of individual plants or herbs.
