Gin

Gin was first known as a medicine for stomach problems in the 15th century, before the British imported jenever from the Netherlands in the 16th century. It was not until the early 19th century that gin developed into a respected drink, when production guidelines were established. The base consists of grain and must have an alcohol content of at least 37.5% by volume according to EU standards. The addition of spices (botanicals) is particularly important, especially juniper, as well as various herbs, roots and fruits, depending on the variety.

Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur 0,7L 20%
Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur 0,7L 20%

Wisniewski Cherry 0.7L 20%Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur 0.7L (20%) – The authentic cherry liqueur from Poland Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur is an original Polish cherry liqueur that delights with its characteristic taste and the intense aroma of sun-ripened cherries. Produced using traditional liqueur-making methods, it combines artisanal quality with natural maturation – without haste, but with meticulous attention to detail. The process begins in summer, when the juiciest cherries are harvested in Poland's orchards. After careful processing, the liqueur matures in oak barrels, which gives it its velvety depth and warm elegance. On the nose, bright cherry notes and delicate almond tones unfold, immediately whetting the appetite for the first sip. On the palate, Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur is soft and rounded, with an alluring sweetness of ripe stone fruit and a subtly dry finish that lends it a refined balance and depth. The juicy fruit sweetness blends harmoniously with the delicate bitterness of almond kernel notes, while barrel aging imparts a warm, full-bodied structure. Serving suggestion Enjoy Wisniewski Cherry Liqueur at room temperature or slightly chilled – ideal, especially on warm summer days. It can also be heated to up to 50°C, thus developing its full, aromatic bouquet in winter. This exquisite cherry liqueur pairs perfectly with: Chocolate – for an intense, sweet taste experience Almonds and olives – as a refined aperitif Aged cold cuts and cheeses – for savory contrasts Red meat – as an elegant accompaniment to hearty dishes

Aperol Aperitivo 1,0L 11%
Aperol, 1 L, 11%

Aperol Bitter Aperitif 1.0L 11% A classic Italian aperitif After the famous Campari Bitter, Aperol is probably the best-known aperitif liqueur from Italy. This light bitter has a distinctive red-orange color and a fruity yet subtly bitter taste. The history of Aperol Aperol comes from the northern Italian city of Padua. The tradition of producing spirits there goes back to the century before last. One man who was part of this tradition was Giuseppe Barbieri. He founded his own liqueur company in Padua in 1880. Business was good and the company quickly developed into one of the most progressive companies of the time. It is therefore not surprising that his two sons Luigi and Silvio Barbieri also got into the business. When demand for aperitif liqueurs in Europe, particularly in France, rose sharply at the beginning of the 20th century, the brothers decided to develop their own bitter liqueur. They called their product Aperol and presented it for the first time in 1919 at an international trade fair. The Barbieri brothers' Aperol quickly caused a stir because, contrary to drinking habits at the time, it had a relatively low alcohol content of just 11% vol. In addition to the alcohol content, the unusual combination of ingredients was also something completely new at the time. In the production of Aperol, cinchona bark, rhubarb, gentian, bitter oranges and other aromatic herbs are macerated and the extract is carefully reduced to drinking strength with the purest water and then subtly sweetened. How do you drink Aperol? Aperol is the ideal aperitif, and not just because of its low alcohol content. Its stimulating taste also makes it the perfect drink before a meal. The international bar and restaurant crowd prefers to enjoy Aperol neat, on ice or with soda. Since the current Aperol Spritz wave, however, Aperol has also been used again for numerous mixed drinks. Its bitter-sweet taste components make it the ideal accompaniment to grapefruit, passion fruit and orange juice. The tart aromas of a tonic water also go perfectly with Aperol. A versatile and excellent liqueur! Finally, a small note: Since 2006, Aperol has been offered in Germany with 15% vol. due to the current deposit regulation (drinks with 15% vol. or more are considered deposit-free spirits). However, we are proud to be able to offer you the traditional version with 11% vol., which made Aperol world famous!

Bells Original Scotch Whisky, 1 L, 40%
Bells Original Scotch Whisky, 1 L, 40%

Bells Original Scotch Whisky, 1 L, 40% The history of Bells Whisky The history of Bells Whisky begins in 1840. At that time, Arthur Bell, the founder of Arthur Bell & Sons, joined the spirits and wine business of his friend Thomas Sandeman in Perth. Thomas Sandeman was related to the well-known port wine dynasty Sandeman and accordingly had good contacts in the industry. After eleven successful years at Sandeman's side, Bell then went into business for himself and expanded quickly. After another decade, Bell was finally the first whisky dealer to open a shop in London. Arthur Bell quickly established himself there and established a global distribution network. In addition to trading, Arthur Bell also specifically promoted the product whisky. For example, he was the first whisky dealer to campaign for binding quality standards and the introduction of standardized bottle sizes. However, it was his sons who brought the first whisky with the name "Bell's Whisky" onto the market at the beginning of the 20th century. Arthur Bell's sons were also responsible for taking over several whisky distilleries and thus laid the foundation for the company Arthur Bell & Sons, which is still successful today. Bell's Original Scotch Whisky Bell's Original Scotch Whisky is one of the most successful standard blends in the world. Bell's Original Scotch Whisky probably contains a fairly high proportion of malt whiskies from the company's own distilleries Pittyvaich, Inchgower, Dufftown and Blair Athol. Bell's Original Scotch Whisky became particularly well-known through intensive TV marketing and the lavishly designed Bell's Decanters. These bell-shaped ceramic decanters are issued on special occasions, e.g. the Queen's jubilee, and are extremely popular with collectors. They have the advantage of not only being very light, but also shatterproof. A shatterproof bottle is a great advantage, especially for standard blends such as Bells Original Scotch Whisky, which you don't always drink in fancy hotel bars. The taste of Bells Original Scotch Whisky On the nose, Bells Original Scotch Whisky has gently malty aromas and a light peppery note. The palate of Bells Original Scotch Whisky is characterized by heather notes and a little caramel. The aftertaste of Bells Original Scotch Whisky is medium-length and relatively spicy. Bells Original Scotch Whisky is and remains a classic and loses none of its charm!

Ransom Old Tom Gin, 0,7 L, 44%

Ransom Old Tom Gin 0.7L 44% This remarkable Old Tom Gin is produced by Ransom Spirits, based in Oregon, USA. The gin is a remake of the "Old Tom" style of gin, which was extremely popular in England in the 18th century. It is a slightly sweetened gin that is the basis of many classic cocktail recipes. Ransom Spirits developed its Old Tom Gin with the help of the famous cocktail historian David Wondrich, who also developed a Curaçao with Cognac Ferrand that was named "Spirit of the Year 2013".In the production of Ransom Old Tom Gin, a malty spice is used, which is also why the subtle malt notes on the nose are due to it. After distillation, various herbs and spices are added to the base for maceration and then distilled in small pot stills and the best fraction of the distillation is bottled. A great Old Tom Gin that is ideal for the Martinez cocktail.

When Prohibition began in 1919, consumers' drinking habits shifted massively. The basic spirits, such as whiskey and gin, were only available from dubious sources and in very poor quality, if at all. High-quality products such as cocktail bitters almost completely disappeared and only a few brands managed to survive the "dry period". When Prohibition was finally over in 1933, the remaining cocktail bitters found it difficult to position themselves in the changed market, as cocktail culture had almost completely come to a standstill. The revival of cocktail bitters It took a surprisingly long time, until 2006 to be precise, for the cocktail bitters segment to gain momentum again. At that time, the two internationally known bartenders Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck founded the bitters manufacturer "The Bitter Truth" in Munich. The ambitious and clear vision of the two entrepreneurs was to make long-forgotten and thought-lost ingredients available to bartenders and connoisseurs in outstanding quality. The conditions for this were ideal, as both Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck had already gained experience in the production of cocktail bitters during their time behind the bar, as they made them themselves by hand for the bars in which they worked. In addition, Stephan Berg has one of the most extensive collections of historical cocktail bitters in the world, so that Berg and Hauck knew what the bitters must have tasted like in the past by carefully and purposefully tasting them. As some standard bitters, such as Angostura, were still available, Berg and Hauck searched through old cocktail books for cocktail recipes that could no longer be made true to the original with the bitters available, and for which the revival of old recipes was necessary. In autumn 2006, the first three products from "The Bitter Truth" were finally released: an Orange Bitters, an Aromatic Bitters and a Lemon Bitters. The further development of The Bitter Truth The products from "The Bitter Truth" immediately attracted great interest in the international bar scene and were quickly able to position themselves in some of the most important cocktail bars worldwide, which was certainly also due to the attractive product design by graduate designer Alexander Hauck. Encouraged by the positive response from colleagues, “The Bitter Truth” developed further exciting bitters creations over the next few years, such as Jerry Thomas Own Decanter Bitters, Chocolate Bitters, Creole Bitters, Grapefruit Bitters and a Celery Bitters, which was named “Best Spirit of the Year” at the 2008 Mixology Bar Awards and won the title of “Best New Product” at Tales of the Cocktail New Orleans 2010. Since the company's original idea was to "revive forgotten ingredients", the range was expanded over time to include other niche products such as Violet Liqueur, Apricot Liqueur, Elderflower Liqueur, Orange Flower Water, Rose Water, Pimento Dram, Sloe Gin, Pink Gin, Falernum and the herbal liqueur ELIXIER. The Bitter Truth Peach Bitters - taste Peach is a product that has been used by bartenders for decades - think of the famous Bellini cocktail, for example. For this reason, The Bitter Truth decided to create a bitter with the taste of natural peaches. The result is Peach Bitters, which was first presented at the Bar Convent Berlin 2012. It impresses with a great bouquet of dried and fresh peaches and a slightly floral note. If you try the bitter, the peach notes are accompanied by a subtle marzipan aroma and enormous fruitiness. In contrast to other products, the bitterness of Peach Bitters is less pronounced. This has the advantage that you can add 1-2 dashes more to the drink if you want the fruity note to come across particularly well. The aromas of Peach Bitters go particularly well with whiskey, gin and bourbon. A cocktail tip from the editors is "The Derby": The base of this drink is bourbon or gin, which is refined with fresh mint and peach bitters. Cheers!

Nolets Dry Gin Silver, 0,7 L, 47,6%
Nolets Dry Gin Silver 0,7L 47,6%

Nolet's Dry Gin Silver 0.7L 47.6% The history of Nolet's Dry Gin Silver The history of the Nolet family, which produces Nolet's Dry Gin Silver, goes back to 1691. That was when the Nolet distillery was founded, making it the oldest distillery in the Netherlands. For a long time, Genever, the national spirit of the Nollanders, was produced. Business was always good, but Genever consumption has fallen drastically in recent decades. The reason is that consumers are dying out, as young people prefer to enjoy spirits that reflect a certain lifestyle. The company is now in its tenth generation and managing director Carolus HJ Nolet had to rethink things. He then introduced Ketel 1 Vodka, which is now one of the best known vodkas on the market. After the great success of the vodka, the owners wanted to return to the company's roots and recently brought Nolet's Dry Gin Silver onto the market, which has its origins in classic genever. The production of Nolet's Dry Gin Silver Nolet's Dry Gin Silver is a London-style gin that is distilled in pot stills. This makes Nolet's Dry Gin Silver unique in the Netherlands. The botanicals used to make Nolet's Dry Gin Silver are also extremely untypical for a gin. In addition to the classic flavors such as juniper, licorice and citrus fruits, Turkish rose petals, white peach and raspberries are also used. With this new type of aroma, Nolet's Dry Gin Silver is clearly aimed at a new generation of drinkers who are looking for new tastes in classic spirits. The taste of Nolet's Dry Gin Silver The atypical botanicals naturally give Nolet's Dry Gin Silver a very special taste. On the nose, Nolet's Dry Gin Silver has a very floral smell and you can clearly detect fruity notes of raspberries and peaches. On the palate, Nolet's Dry Gin Silver initially seems quite strong due to its 47.6% vol., but then becomes very smooth and shows the aromas already known from the bouquet. The aftertaste is gentle and slightly sweet. Due to its overall lighter character, Nolet's Dry Gin Silver is ideal for classics such as the Martini Dry Cocktail. Its great fruit aromas come into their own particularly well in a Gin & Tonic! Anyone looking for a new kind of gin should definitely try Nolet's Dry Gin Silver!

Jensen's Bermondsey Gin, 0,7 L
Jensen's Bermondsey Gin, 0,7 L, 43%

Jensen's Bermondsey Dry Gin 0.7L 43% Dry Gin as a way to achieve your goal Christian Jensen became a gin producer by chance when he came across the forerunner of dry gin on a visit to Japan. Old Tom Gin was a very popular gin style in England long before dry gin and almost led to the collapse of society when the gin craze could only be contained with difficulty in the 17th and 18th centuries. Only in Japan at that time did Old Tom Gin still have a few fans and it appeared there every now and then. Starting the revival of Old Tom Gin Jensen was all the more surprised that this delicious gin was no longer produced in England, even though major brands still had it in their range in the 20th century. After returning to England, he continued to follow the trail of Old Tom Gin and contacted a local distiller to revive it. Through extensive research into suitable spices, Jensen's Dry Gin was first created, which was not the goal but at least the path to Old Tom Gin and produces a wonderful gin & tonic. Jensen's Bermondsey Dry Gin in the taste test The aroma is clearly led by juniper berries, and intense tones of fresh herbs and spices can be detected. Very delicious and with a complex and velvety structure. Perfect in combination with tonic water or in the king of cocktails, the Dry Martini. Jensen's Dry Gin is convincing across the board and you may find it hard to believe given the very minimalist product presentation, but it is not the high-quality packaging that counts here, but the honest and extremely delicious contents in the bottle.

El Dorado Rum 12 Years, 0,7 L, 40%

El Dorado Rum 12 Years, 0,7 L, 40%

El Dorado Rum 12 Years 0.7L 40% Guyanese Rum El Dorado Rum 12 Years comes from the South American state of Guyana, which borders Brazil, Suriname and Venezuela as well as the Atlantic. Although Guyana only has a population of around 750,000, the small country can look back on an eventful history in the production of rum. In the heyday of rum production, almost every sugar cane plantation in the country had its own distillery. Of the 200-300 distilleries that once existed, only one remains. But how did the once flourishing industry decline so sharply? To understand this, we need to take a look at the history of the country. The history of rum from Guyana The history of Guyanese rum is closely linked to that of the British Navy. In the 18th century, the three colonies of Demerara, Essequibo and Berbice in Guyana were owned by the Dutch crown. After a slave revolt in 1763, however, their ownership changed hands between the French, Dutch and British. The British were the ones who built the first sugar cane plantations to produce spirits. They needed the liquor for their ship crews. As it was impossible to keep drinking water sterile on long crossings at the time, each sailor was given a ration of 0.5 liters of rum per day to make their water drinkable. The demand was so enormous that more and more plantations and distilleries were built in Guyana, eventually reaching the aforementioned number of 200-300 distilleries. However, due to improved hygiene conditions and microbiological findings, rum on board ships became increasingly pointless and daily rations were steadily reduced. After a long period of being purely traditional, the last rum was finally served on board British ships on July 31, 1970, the so-called Black Tot Day. The ban on rum on board ships also sealed the fate of the distilleries and the last remaining distilleries gradually closed their doors. Only Demerara Distillers remained. However, this distillery is no ordinary one, as many famous stills from the closed distilleries were collected there. These old pot stills and continuous stills are not museum-like, but are still in operation, allowing Demerara Distillers to produce a variety of different rum styles and keep the myth of Guyanese rum alive. El Dorado Rum 12 Years The El Dorado 12 is probably the best-known rum from Demerara Distillers. It was the first rum that company boss Yesu Persaud brought to market. He had the vision early on to create a rum that stood out from the often overwhelmingly heavy style of former Demerara rums. He succeeded in doing this with the El Dorado, which, in addition to the heavy molasses tones, also has fine fruity aromas of orange and pineapple. El Dorado Rum 12 Years is an outstanding rum that is a real treat both neat and in cocktails and long drinks. Absolute recommendation!
