Grain Whisky
Whisky from Grains!
While there are strict regulations for the grains used in malt whisky, bourbon whiskey, rye whiskey, and Irish whiskey, any grain can be used in the production of grain whisky. Grain whisky is the main component of the best-selling type of whisky in the world: blended whisky. Unfortunately, single grain whiskies are very rarely available, and we are pleased to offer you whiskies from this category in our online spirits shop.

Grain Whisky – Whisky from Barley and Other Grains
While a malt whisky must be made from malted barley, an Irish whiskey from malted and unmalted barley, an American straight bourbon whiskey from at least 51% corn, and a straight rye whiskey from at least 51% rye, any grain can be used for the production of grain whisky. Unlike malt whisky or Irish whiskey, which are both distilled in pot stills, grain whisky is continuously distilled in so-called coffey stills. Together with malt whisky, the lighter grain whisky forms the base for blended whisky, which can be a mix of up to 50 different malts and grains. Single grain whisky refers to grain whisky that comes from a single whisky distillery. The well-known Cameron Brig single grain whisky was for a long time the only single grain on the market and is still considered a flagship for the single grain whisky category.
