Ransom Old Tom Gin, 0,7 L, 44%

Product information "Ransom Old Tom Gin, 0,7 L, 44%"

Ransom Old Tom Gin 0.7L 44%

This remarkable Old Tom Gin is produced by Ransom Spirits, based in Oregon, USA. The gin is a remake of the "Old Tom" style of gin, which was extremely popular in England in the 18th century.

It is a slightly sweetened gin that is the basis of many classic cocktail recipes. Ransom Spirits developed its Old Tom Gin with the help of the famous cocktail historian David Wondrich, who also developed a Curaçao with Cognac Ferrand that was named "Spirit of the Year 2013".

In the production of Ransom Old Tom Gin, a malty spice is used, which is also why the subtle malt notes on the nose are due to it. After distillation, various herbs and spices are added to the base for maceration and then distilled in small pot stills and the best fraction of the distillation is bottled. A great Old Tom Gin that is ideal for the Martinez cocktail.

Jensen's Old Tom Gin, 0,7 L, 43%
Jensens Old Tom Gin 0.7L 43% Inspiration from Japan - recipe from 1840 Christian Jensen, the mastermind behind Jensen Gin, first encountered the almost extinct species Old Tom Gin in Japan and was all the more surprised that this forerunner of the successful dry gin with its own character had not been produced in the traditional gin country of England for years and, after returning to the UK, immediately contacted a local distiller to revive it. The rebirth of Old Tom Gin After intensive research to find the spices in question, Jensens Dry Gin was created first - which, incidentally, makes an excellent gin & tonic. Jensen's Old Tom Gin, on the other hand, took a little longer and is based on a recipe from 1840 and is produced without the often communicated obligatory dose of sugar in Old Tom Gins. Bottled in a very simple-looking frosted white glass bottle, the label on the square shape is also puristic and expressive without any decorations. The taste of Jensen's Old Tom Gin Jensen's Old Tom starts off a little rough on the palate and is best enjoyed in a mixed drink and is less intended to be enjoyed neat. The rich abundance of the botanicals used creates a convincing aromatic, almost earthy aftertaste with a strong dash of juniper berries. The floral note that is usually noticeable in Old Tom Gins is almost completely absent from Jensen's Old Tom. This gin is very special and will probably polarize when used in classic gin cocktails such as Gin & Tonic or Martini Cocktail, which otherwise call for dry gin. In aromatic drinks, however, in combination with sweet vermouth or similar, Jensen's Old Tom will convince across the board.

Hernö Old Tom Gin (Bio) 0,5L 43%
Hernö Old Tom Gin (organic) 0.5L 43% Hernö – organic gin from Sweden! Best Taste Gin 2017 !! Sweden has a long culture when it comes to producing high-quality spirits – think of the world-famous Absolut Vodka, for example! However, many lovers still associate gin with the motherland of gin – England! Although the majority of gins are still produced in England today, there have been some qualitative improvements in other countries. For example, Germany with the Monkey 47 Black Forest Dry Gin and France with the G-Vine also have high-quality gins that are known all over the world. Since 2011, a gin from Sweden, Hernö Gin (organic), has joined the top-class competition and is causing a sensation among connoisseurs around the globe! The Hernö Gin Distillery was founded by Jon Hillgreen, who worked as a bartender in London with some friends in the late 90s. During this time he got to know and love gin and tasted over 100 different bottlings. The great variety fascinated Hillgreen and he decided to delve deeper into the subject. He therefore visited numerous distilleries in the country and exchanged ideas with the master distillers of the individual distilleries. Over time, the decision grew to set up his own gin distillery. Hillgreen had the Hernö Gin Distillery built in the classic Swedish style with white and red painted wooden beams. The distillery is located in the small town of Dala near the town of Härnösand in Ångermanland, making it the northernmost gin production facility in the world! The Hernö Old Tom Gin (ORGANIC) In England, Hillgreen also got to know Old Tom Gin. A slightly sweet gin that was mainly drunk in the 19th century. He wanted to bring this old style of gin to Sweden. Like the "normal" Hernö Gin, Old Tom Gin is made from eight different - organically grown - botanicals. The meadowsweet used is, however, dosed more heavily and the gin is then sweetened with a little honey and sugar. This creates a slightly sweet gin that still has all the typical gin aromas such as juniper, citrus and coriander! A very successful Old Tom Gin!

Both`s Old Tom Gin, 0,7 L, 47%
Both`s Old Tom Gin 0.7L 47% The history of Old Tom Gin Even though it is only known to a few connoisseurs today, Old Tom Gin was once considered one of the most important spirit categories in the world. Old Tom Gin, also known as Old Tom or just Tom Gin, was particularly popular in England in the 18th and 19th centuries. Old Tom Gin is a descendant of the original genever from the Netherlands and is drier than this, but slightly sweeter than the gin known today. At that time, wooden signs in the shape of cats were attached to pubs, which would serve a gin shot to customers by inserting a penny. Since these bars were called "Old Tom" by the locals, it can be assumed that the name Old Tom Gin comes from them. The mechanism of the Old Toms worked in such a way that the penny that was thrown in rolled to the bartender inside the pub, who then poured the gin into a small tube directly into the consumer's mouth using a funnel. An ingenious but also dangerous business idea, as many alcoholics were able to treat themselves to their drinks in secret. Aside from this questionable pouring method, Old Tom Gin also slowly established itself in the more prestigious bars in England and was finally mentioned for the first time in a cocktail book in 1891. This was the book "The Flowing Bowl: When and What to Drink", in which Old Tom Gin was listed as an ingredient in the Tom Collins cocktail that is still popular today. Over the years, things have unfortunately gone quiet around Old Tom Gin, and it has only been experiencing a small renaissance for around ten years now, due to the increasing interest in bar culture. The production of Both's Old Tom Gin Both's Old Tom Gin is produced and bottled by "The Both Distillery" (founded in 1886) for the spirits retailer Haromex. Both's Old Tom Gin is made according to a historical recipe. The basis is high-quality juniper berries which are macerated together with other botanicals in the best neutral alcohol and then gently distilled. Both's Old Tom Gin is then carefully sweetened and bottled in elegant bottles with a strong 47% ABV. The taste of Both's Old Tom Gin Both's Old Tom Gin has a clear color and a sweet, fruity smell. The taste of Both's Old Tom Gin is smooth, sweet, fruity and convinces with a pleasant juniper note and nuances of rose petals, mint, citrus and anise. Both's Old Tom Gin is best enjoyed neat or in historical cocktails such as Tom Collins, Ramos Fizz or Martinez.

Langleys Old Tom Export Strength Gin 0,7L 47%
Langleys Old Tom Export Strength Gin 0.7L 47% The Langleys Old Tom Strength Gin is a real showpiece that has its origins in Great Britain. The Old Tom Export Strength Gin from the renowned Langley Distillery has been available from us for some time. The Old Tom Gin first became known in the 18th century. Thanks to the Dutch, the British were familiarized with the recipe for genever. This almost created a hype in which the schnapps with the juniper flavor was further developed. Due to the Gin Act, the Old Tom lost almost all of its importance and the classic gin took its course. Today, the special gin is once again enjoying great popularity around the world. Old Tom Gin is, so to speak, the absolute opposite of the classic and well-known London Dry Gin. With dry gin, for example, it is strictly forbidden to add any additives such as sugar after distillation. The addition of sugar has no place in the London Dry Gin mentioned above, which is generally considered dry. With Langleys Old Tom Strength Gin, things are quite different. Sugar plays a very important role here. However, the motto is: "less is more". After all, only a subtle sweetness is to be achieved. In addition to the added sweetness, the decisive factor for an Old Tom Gin is the specified alcohol content, which must be at least 37.5%. The aroma and taste of Langleys Old Tom Export Strength Gin is slightly sweet and perfectly balanced. Coriander and the peel of various citrus fruits dominate the palate, which is also accompanied by the classic juniper notes. Overall, the drinking experience is noticeably positive and is quite soft and mild. A loyal companion that prefers to be drunk neat or to play the main role in a fresh cocktail or drink. An example for you at home is the always popular Tom Collins.

Pinckney Bend Gin 0,7L 46,5%
Pinckney Bend Gin 0.7L 46.5% Pinckney Bend Destillery It is the small but subtle differences that allow a small artisanal distillery to keep up with the big global corporations. With attention to detail and the preservation of old traditions and stories, you can often achieve more than a mass-produced gin, whiskey or vodka can. American Gin There are a few special features in the production process that make Pinckney Bend Gin very different from others. The most important point is that this gin is handcrafted in very small batches. Furthermore, the botanicals are treated differently. Some of them are macerated and distilled, others are suspended in the column still. These are, of course, some well-known botanicals, such as juniper, coriander or orris, without which the gin would not be gin at all. But special ingredients such as lavender and special citrus fruits are also used. These subtle differences can be recognized on the palate. First a clear juniper aroma, which gives way to a softer, sweeter aroma. The harmonious gin is rounded off by a light citrus finish.
