The Citadelle Gin from France is made from wheat and spring water, enriched with 19 different herbs and spices such as: juniper berries, coriander, orange peel, cardamom, cubeb berries, licorice, savory, fennel, iris root, cinnamon, violets, almonds, cassia, angelica, lemon peel, caraway, grains of paradise, nutmeg and star anise in a triple distillation process according to the original recipe from 1771 and has a very balanced and complex character.

The two came to gin production from not entirely unrealistic jobs: Søren worked in export and sales and had good connections to the apple industry. Bettina, on the other hand, worked in marketing. Since they both have a penchant for good food and excellent drinks and noticed how Gin Mark has become increasingly popular in recent years, they decided that they would like to bring a gin with a Danish character onto the market themselves. The idea behind this gin: to recreate the structure of an oak tree. From the fruit to the trunk to the roots. 44N Gin 0.5L 44% Comte de Grasse It is a collaborative research that is influenced by the terroir and heritage of the Côte d'Azur. The artisanal yet quite innovative gin 44°N is produced in a former perfume distillery dating back to 1820 in Roure. Here you can find a great interplay between pure science and the fine noses of the gin experts. And the production itself is also a little different to what you are used to from some other manufacturers. After the ultrasonic maceration, vacuum distillation and finally CO2 extraction follow to further strengthen the aroma. A piece of the Côte d'Azur for your home The botanicals naturally come from the wonderful landscape of the Côte d'Azur, some of them are Cade (a more woody botanical), Immortelle (for notes of dried fruit and slightly smoky notes), Mimosa (provides the recognizable maritime toughness) and the Rose Centifolia for the subtle floral notes.
