100% agave - The best tequila made from 100% blue Weber agave
Tequila is a form of mezcal, an agave spirit from Mexico. Tequila comes from the city of Tequila in the state of Jalisco and is made from the heart of the blue agave (Agave tequilana Weber, azul, Agavaceae). 100% agave tequila is the highest quality tequila and must be distilled from 100% blue agave. Depending on the degree of maturity, 100% agave tequila is divided into blanco (silver), joven or oro (gold), reposado (aged), añejo (extra-aged) and extra- añejo (ultra-aged). While Mixto Tequila is particularly suitable for mixing cocktails such as Tequila Sunrise, Margarita and Tequila Sour, 100% Agave Tequila can also be enjoyed neat like a high-quality cognac or brandy. Well-known 100% agave tequila brands are Patron, Casa Noble, Cuervo, Esperanto and El Caprichio.

Ocho Tequila Reposado, 0.5 L, 40% About Ocho Tequila There are two men behind the renowned Ocho Tequila - Carlos Camarene and Tomas Estes. Tomas Estes is "Ambassador of Tequila to the European Union" and is considered one of the most innovative minds in the industry. Carlos Camarene is a master distiller and is already in the third generation. He is a man who preserves old production methods without closing himself off to new technologies and ideas. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and innovation is the result of the cooperation between Carlos Camarene and Tomas Estes. Together they want to take the product tequila to a new level. An important goal that they are pursuing is the idea of bringing the "terroir" of the region into the tequila. Just like vineyards, the agaves on each plantation develop very differently. The production of Ocho Tequila Reposado While with other products entire agave fields are often harvested at the same time, Ocho Tequila is produced more carefully. The harvest workers, known as "jimadors", only select individual plants from the fields that have reached perfect ripeness. It can take up to three years for a field to be harvested for the production of Ocho Tequila Reposado. After the jimadors have exposed the heart of the agave, it is baked in large ovens until soft and then pressed. The agave juice obtained in this way is fermented in open wooden vats and then double distilled. After distillation, the wine is matured in barrels made of American white oak that have already been filled with tequila 6-7 times. This multiple filling ensures that the influence of the wood on the Ocho Tequila Reposado is not too strong. When Master Distiller Carlos Camarene considers the Ocho Tequila Reposado to be mature, it is diluted with the purest water and bottled. The taste of the Ocho Tequila Reposado Soft and delicate with fine vanilla aromas - this is how the Ocho Tequila Reposado presents itself on the nose. On the palate, the Ocho Tequila Reposado then becomes significantly stronger and impresses with vegetal notes and hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The aftertaste of the Ocho Tequila Reposado is also strong and very long. A very fine Reposado Tequila that offers great quality for its relatively low price!

Ocho Tequila Añejo 0.7L 40%Ocho Tequila stands for uncompromising quality, provenance, and genuine craftsmanship from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. As a single estate tequila, the agave used comes exclusively from select fields in the so-called "Golden Triangle" of Los Altos and neighboring regions such as Michoacán and Guanajuato. Here, the blue agave grows for 7 to 10 years until it reaches optimal ripeness and is harvested by hand. Ocho Añejo Tequila matures for one year in ex-American whiskey barrels, developing an elegant balance of agave and wood. In the glass, it displays a light amber color. The nose and palate reveal complex aromas of cooked agave, dark cocoa, coffee, nutmeg, dried fruit, and salted caramel. Selva Negra 0.5L 46% 'Tequila' from the Black Forest If you are wondering whether it is really true that a 'Tequila' can be made in Germany, you have read correctly. However, it should be said that this product cannot be called 'Tequila', because only agave liquor that was also produced in Mexico can be called that. For the Selva Negra, 100% agave extract is extracted from the Salmiana Agave in Mexico and exported to Germany unfiltered and preserved. Once it arrives in the beautiful Black Forest, it is fermented and mixed with a special yeast. This mixture is then distilled twice. What makes the Selva Negra agave schnapps taste different from other comparable products? Well, first of all, it is of course a special thing when you hear that it comes from Germany. But it also tastes different from its competitors. The inventors behind Selva Negra wanted to incorporate the taste of the Black Forest and so their tequila was influenced by Black Forest spruce.

Goya Tequila Single Estate Blanco 0.5L 40% Goya has taken the quality of tequila to a level that has probably never been produced in Mexico before. This is a single estate tequila, meaning that the agave used comes exclusively from a carefully selected farm. Goya uses fully ripe piñas that are naturally grown and harvested organically. As a blanco, it is not treated in wooden barrels to hide unwanted flavors. The cultivation, harvesting, production and bottling all take place on their own finca, so Goya has full control over the quality of the product. The attention given to each of the small vintages requires one of the slowest production processes in Mexico. The taste is minimally mineral and has gentle notes of slow-roasted pine mixed with citrus. A well-crafted silky texture with a smooth feel for the European palate. It is said that it takes about 13 days to make 1 liter of Goya Tequila, but you never know for sure. The time it takes to make each vintage should not be determined by anyone. The tequila itself controls the process, we simply listen to it. This process is rare and unhurried.

Ocho Tequila Blanco 0.5L 40% About Ocho Tequila Ocho - This is not just tequila. Ocho is a joint project by two of the most creative and talented men in the industry. This is the "Ambassador of Tequila to the European Union" Tomas Estes, who manages to represent the tequila brand with his tremendous passion like no other. The second man in the group is Carlos Camarene, a third-generation tequila master distiller and one of the most experienced men when it comes to distilling agave. Together, Camarene and Estes wanted to create a product that was not yet available on the tequila market. The "terroir" of the region should be tasteable in their distillate - they have achieved this with the Ocho Tequila, which stands out positively from other tequilas in this price range in terms of taste. The production of the Ocho Tequila Blanco The basic requirement for a high-quality tequila is of course the best raw materials. For this reason, only individually selected, overripe agaves are used for Ocho Tequila. The field workers, known as "jimadors", go through the Ocho plantations every day and use skilful blows to free the hearts of the best agaves from the leaves that are unusable for making tequila. Since only individual agaves are selected at a time, it can take up to three years until an agave plantation is completely harvested. After the harvest, the highly ripe agave hearts are baked in ovens for several hours until they lose their firm structure and become soft. After this process, the hearts are gently pressed to release the sweet agave juice. This is then fermented by wild yeast in open wooden vats and the fermented juice is then distilled. To guarantee the purity of the Ocho Tequila Blanco, it is double distilled and then diluted with clear water to 40% vol. As Blanco Tequila is not stored for any significant length of time, the Ocho Tequila Blanco is bottled shortly after distillation and thus retains all of its natural aromas. The taste of the Ocho Tequila Blanco The crystal-clear Ocho Tequila Blanco shows the expected aromas of fresh, ripe agave and a subtle sweetness on the nose. Light accents of marzipan and citrus fruits can also be detected. If you then take a sip of the Ocho Tequila Blanco in your mouth, a variety of nuances of agave, pepper, citrus, plums and again a subtle sweetness are revealed. The aftertaste of the Ocho Tequila Blanco is surprisingly long, smooth and aromatic for a Blanco Tequila. Without a doubt, the Ocho Tequila Blanco is one of the best unaged 100% agave tequilas in this price range!
