Plantation Sealander Rum ist eine faszinierende Fusion der Rumtraditionen von Barbados, Mauritius und den Fidschi-Inseln. In der West Indies Rum Distillery auf Barbados, der Saint Aubin Brennerei auf Mauritius und der Rum Co. of Fiji Destillerie werden Melasse und Zuckerrohrsaft zu einem spannenden Blend verarbeitet. Die Gärung dauert 3 Tage bis 3 Wochen, und die Destillation erfolgt sowohl in Pot Stills als auch in Column Stills. Nach mehreren Jahren tropischer Reifung in Bourbonfässern folgt eine zusätzliche kontinentale Reifung von einem Jahr in Ferrand-Fässern. Diese einzigartige Reise durch die Weltmeere manifestiert sich in jeder Flasche Plantation Sealander Rum.

In der Nase präsentiert der Plantation Sealander Rum 0,7L 40% sanfte Aromen von Birne, Quittengelee und Stachelbeere, begleitet von einem Hauch rauchiger Melasse. Am Gaumen entfaltet er reiche und zarte Noten von Kleeblütenhonig, Lakritze, Bienenwachs, Vanille-Fudge und Pflaume. Der Abgang ist langanhaltend und geprägt von gekochtem Apfel, Tonkabohne und getrockneter Banane.

After 8 years of maturation in American bourbon barrels in Barbados, the Plantation Barbados 2013 One Time Rum is shipped to France. There it undergoes a final 1-year finish in 400-liter Ferrand barrels. With an alcohol content of 50.2%, it reveals a fruity, sweet and spicy aroma of orange blossom, peach, bananas, coconut, roasted almonds and pepper on the nose. On the palate it is extremely rich, with additional notes of honey, hazelnut, pastry and a hint of ginger and tobacco. The finish is long and fruity.

It matured for a total of 21 years, including 19 years in Fiji in former American oak bourbon barrels. It was then shipped to France, where it rested for 1 year in former Ferrand cognac barrels before being finished for a further 4 months in Rozelieures single malt whisky barrels. The nose reveals aromas of flambéed bananas, vanilla and hazelnut, followed by nuances of quince, peach, a hint of seaweed and marzipan.
