For Dos Maderas, rum from Barbados and Guyana is mixed. The first maturation phase of Dos Maderas rum takes place in the home country in a tropical climate. After this first phase, the rum is transported to Europe to be further processed by the company Bodegas William & Humbert. They are actually responsible for Spanish sherry and brandy and this is exactly what is used for the further resting period of the rum. It is now allowed to mature further in old sherry and brandy barrels. Sometimes there can even be a third decanting into a different type of barrel.
