The manufacturer of Akori Gin is Destilerías Campeny SA, located near Barcelona, right by the sea, which has already launched well-known products such as Tann's Gin and Only Gin. The company Destilerías Campeny SA was founded in 1970 by the Catalan businessman Amadeo Campeny i Pons, who managed to turn the distillery into one of the most important Spanish spirits producers in just a few years. Destilerías Campeny SA now exports to over 15 countries and, in addition to gin, also offers gin, tequila, absinthe, cream liqueurs and numerous other spirits and liqueurs. However, many of these products are relatively classic, which is why the Akori Gin was a completely new approach. The Akori Gin The basis for the Akori Gin is high-quality grain alcohol. This is then mixed with various herbs and spices, the so-called botanicals, and distilled again after a certain maceration period in order to transfer the flavors dissolved from the botanicals into the finished gin. As mentioned at the beginning, Destilerías Campeny SA was inspired by Japan when it came to the botanicals used for the Akori Gin. Ginger, kumquats and dragon fruit are among the flavoring components used. This is of course also clearly noticeable when tasting, as the Akori Gin differs significantly in its taste profile from common gins. Its fruity and exotic gin gives classics such as the Gin & Tonic or Martini Dry Cocktail a completely new twist, but is also the basis for numerous new cocktail creations and long drinks.
