Malteco Rum 20 Years 0.7L 40% Malteco Rum The rums in the Malteco range are mainly produced for the European market and offer an almost incomparable price-performance ratio. Malteco rums are already classics in the rum sector and can be found in numerous bars. They are suitable for high-quality cocktails and long drinks as well as for pure enjoyment, e.g. with a medium-strength cigar. A total of three ages of Malteco are available. The highest quality is this 20-year-old bottling, which is complemented by a Malteco 10-year-old and a Malteco 15-year-old. The Malteco Rum 20 Years This special Malteco rum has been aged for a remarkable period of at least 20 years in oak barrels. This is very, very long for a rum, as most distillates are bottled much earlier. This fine distillate has a noble amber color. The nose reveals aromas of vanilla, tobacco and dried plums. The palate has a delicate sweetness with aromas of apricot, banana and chocolate. The aftertaste is medium-length and also has a very sweet and spicy structure. We recommend that you allow yourself enough time to enjoy the Malteco rum for 20 years. For each year of barrel aging, you should allow this rum at least a minute to experience it in all its facets.
Malteco Rum 15 Years 0.05L 40% South American Rum Yes, good rum does not always come from the Caribbean. Good rums can also be found in Latin America. In fact, more sugar cane liquor is produced and brought to market here than anywhere else. There are of course some differences in what we consider to be rum, but on the whole they are quite similar. Ron Malteco The dark amber-colored 15-year-old Malteco rum, like its other siblings, matures in specially selected oak barrels. The special climatic conditions help the rum to develop a special aroma. Sweet vanilla aromas are the first thing that reaches the nose when the bottle is opened. On the palate, notes of toffee, chocolate and vanilla combine with fruity hints of plum and coconut to create a harmonious taste. Compared to the 10-year-old, the aromas here are a little stronger, but not too overwhelming. Malteco 15 years impresses with a fine, long-lasting finish. To give you a taste, we have added the miniature version of Malteco 15 years to our range.
Ron Malteco 10 years 0.7L 40% incl. 2 glasses With the Malteco 10 YO, this is a good 10 years in which the climate can react with the wood and a special aroma is created. It is very soft and complex on the palate. The bouquet is permeated by fine, sweet aromas of vanilla, chocolate and raisins, but at no time does the sweetness seem too dominant.
Malteco Rum Seco Puro 1.0L 37.5% White rum This Blanco rum is based on an ancient original recipe from the 'Maestro Cantineros'. The recipe comes from Guatemala, where there are optimal conditions for growing sugar cane. Located in the very south of the country, directly on the Pacific coast, the country is characterized by volcanic soil. For some, this may be dead land, but for growing sugar cane it is the best foundation you can get. Due to the large amounts of minerals contained in the soil, the sugar cane grows particularly well on the plantations and also acquires a very unique taste. Distillation takes place after the harvest, also using a very traditional method. The difference to similar products such as brown rum is that Seco Pure is not matured in oak barrels, but is bottled directly after distillation and the maturation takes place in the bottles. Aromas of Malteco Seco Puro On the nose, clear notes of fresh herbs, liquorice and a hint of sweet almond are first noticeable. These aromas also prevail on the palate, which is exactly what the name 'Seco Puro' stands for. 'Seco' means dry, Puro' stands for pure and purity. In terms of taste, the style of Seco Puro can be described as very good with dry and some sweet notes.
Malteco Rum Viejo Dorado 1.0L 40% Ron Malteco Rum Who do we have to thank for the internationally famous Ron Malteco rum? Guatemalan style, so it can only come from the country of the same name... But that's wrong. Strictly speaking, we have Ron Malteco rum to thank for a small distillery in Panama. 'Golden Rum' The rum from Malteco, also known as 'Golden Rum', is the matured brother of the Malteco Seco Puro, which is also in our range. The Malteco Seco Puro is of course also matured, but in bottles, whereas the Viejo Dorado is matured in oak barrels. The rum also bears the name 'Superiore', which indicates a long maturation phase and thus places the rum in the premium segment. Premium taste In terms of aroma and taste, the Viejo Dorado has just enough to offer so that it is not overloaded, but on the other hand not too boring. The dryness known from the Seco Puro can be found again with a hint of sweet notes. The Viejo Dorado goes a step further, fruity overtones can also be detected here. The sweetness comes from high-quality vanilla, and spice notes provide a certain bite. It is recommended to enjoy it pure, with or without ice, but the Viejo Dorado is also not too good for use in cocktails.
