Gin Mare - an innovative gin

Innovations in the gin segment are rarely successful these days. However, Gin Mare, produced in Spain, has already won over many gin lovers with its unusual taste. It is the first and only Mediterranean gin from Spain.

The production of Gin Mare Gin

Gin Mare is produced in a distillery in an old fishing village on the Costa Dourada. There, the finest neutral alcohol is extracted from the best wheat using the pot still process and then mixed with Mediterranean botanicals. It is these botanicals that make Gin Mare so special. Green Arbequina olives, basil from Italy, rosemary from Greece and thyme from Turkey are used for the maceration, among others. These aromas give Gin Mare a touch of the Mediterranean and a light, relaxed taste. After the production process is complete, the Gin Mare is bottled. However, no ordinary bottles are used, but specially made bottles from a designer collection. With its curved shape, this bottle combines blue and white light reflections that are intended to symbolize the connection between sky, sea, water and foam. This unique bottle design has already won awards and underlines the super premium gin quality of Gin Mare.

The taste of Gin Mare Gin

The bouquet of Gin Mare initially appears somewhat weak. However, this is deceptive, as one is simply used to more intense aromas from other gins. If you smell the Gin Mare a little longer, wonderfully interwoven aromas emerge that immediately remind you of the Mediterranean and vacation. On the palate, the aromas of the Gin Mare then become stronger and thyme, rosemary, juniper and olives can be clearly tasted. The aftertaste of the Gin Mare is surprisingly long and nuances of citrus peel and floral notes can be perceived. Gin Mare has already won numerous awards, including some very important ones such as an award at the One World Spirits Competition (International Competition in San Francisco). Although Gin Mare is wonderful in cocktails, it is also worth trying it neat with Mediterranean dishes!

Monkey 47 Dry Gin, 0,5 L, 47%
Monkey 47 Dry Gin 0.5L 47% Gin from the Black Forest The history of Monkey 47 is a success story. The self-proclaimed Black Forest Dry Gin was introduced in May 2010 and quickly gained international renown. It can now be found in the best bars and restaurants in Spain and Great Britain. The history of Monkey 47 No good product without a good story. This is also the case with Monkey 47. According to legend, the British Royal Air Force soldier Montgomery "Monty" Collins ended up in the Black Forest after a stay in Berlin. As the diplomat's son Montgomery spent his childhood in India, he had a great affinity for exotic flora and fauna. This also explains why he adopted a Java monkey from the Berlin Zoo before leaving Berlin. After arriving in the Black Forest, he opened an inn there and named it "Zum wilden Affen" in reference to his adopted monkey. As a British gentleman, Montgomery naturally did not want to do without the most British of all drinks - gin - in his inn. For this reason, he developed a recipe with 47 botanicals. These herbs and spices were based on his own life story and so he combined traditional gin aromatics, such as juniper, with exotic botanicals from India and pure and original aromas from herbs native to the Black Forest. In the 1960s, all trace of Montgomery was lost and with him the recipe for the gin. It was not until the turn of the millennium that an old box with the recipe was rediscovered in the attic of the inn. Alexander Stein, the managing director of the Blackforest distillery, quickly recognised the potential of the recipe and began making initial attempts to produce the gin according to the old recipe. He finally succeeded and so the Monkey 47 Black Forest Dry Gin saw the light of day again. The taste of Monkey 47 All of the botanicals used in Monkey 47 are hand-picked and of exceptional quality. Particularly noteworthy is the use of fresh blueberries, which give the gin an incomparable aroma. After distillation, the gin matures for 100 days in ancient stoneware jugs, which allow oxygen to be exchanged with the environment through fine pores. This allows the aromas in the product to harmonise particularly well. Finally, the gin is reduced with extremely soft spring water to a drinking strength of 47% vol. This old-school gin has a wonderful bouquet of cranberries, spruce needles and cucumber and lime aromas. The aftertaste is characterized by fine floral nuances and remains in the memory for a long time. A great product!

Gin Mare 0,1L 42,7%
Gin Mare 0.1L 42.7% Convincing people with innovations in the gin segment is becoming increasingly difficult given the sheer number of products flooding the market. In recent years, only a few brands have managed to establish themselves sustainably and gain worldwide distribution. Alongside Monkey 47 Gin from the Black Forest, for example, the Spanish Gin Mare has also succeeded in becoming a global player in the highly competitive gin market. Gin Mare is produced in a small fishing village on the Costa Dorada in Spanish Catalonia in a very time-consuming and laborious process. Unlike many other gins, not just one maceration batch is produced, but several. With the exception of the citrus fruits used, the peels of which are macerated together for 300 days, all ingredients are separated and individually soaked in base alcohol for up to 36 hours. In addition to the citrus fruits used (orange and lemon), as well as the classics juniper and coriander, Mediterranean aromas such as rosemary, thyme, basil and olives also find their way into the gin. After distillation, Gin Mare is bottled at a strong 42.7% in the special Gin Mare bottles, the design of which takes up the Mediterranean theme. Not only does the bottle shimmer in the colors of the Mediterranean, but it is also elegantly decorated with shrubs that are inevitably reminiscent of the Mediterranean region. If you taste Gin Mare, after an initial trace of juniper, strong notes of rosemary, thyme and citrus fruits appear on the nose. The flavor structure on the palate is very Mediterranean and transports your mind straight to the Mediterranean. Since only a few people drink their gin neat, we have also tasted the Gin Mare & Tonic variant for you. In the Gin & Tonic, Gin Mare develops a very unique character with dominant rosemary aromas, which makes it stand out from ordinary gin & tonic mixtures. Gin Mare is a wonderful addition to the gin market and, in our opinion, should be in every gin lover's collection. The 0.1 L bottle is ideal for getting an idea of this excellent gin!

Gin Mare Miniature 0,05L 42,7%
Gin Mare Miniature 0.05L 42.7% Mediterranean Gin If you're not a gin connoisseur, you probably don't associate Spain with gin. But once you look into the subject, it quickly becomes clear that Gin Mare is a very popular gin, especially among beginners. It is produced in Vilanova, which borders Barcelona directly. In a direct comparison with a Nordic gin, the differences are very clear. With its dry and spirited aroma, Gin Mare embodies its country of origin through and through. When tasting Gin Mare, you almost feel like you're in a small herb garden. You might not believe it, but the notes of olives, rosemary and thyme in this Spanish gin complement the otherwise very typical juniper notes. However, each bottle is unique because the main ingredient, the Arbequina olive, has a different acidity level in every season. So you have to let yourself be taken on a new journey every time. In addition to the spicy aromas of olives and Mediterranean herbs, other ingredients from the Mediterranean coast are also used in Gin Mare. The taste also has clear notes of juicy oranges from Valencia, lemons from Seville or even cardamom and coriander.
