Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala

This is an amalgamation of various distilleries, bottlers and other companies, to which Botran Rum also belongs. A well-known name to connoisseurs might be Zacapa Rum, which also comes from this amalgamation.

Rum made from honey

Most rum varieties are made from molasses, a by-product of sugar cane cultivation. Then there is the route via sugar cane juice. At Botran they have opted for a 'middle path', so to speak. Here they make rum from what is known as sugar cane honey or syrup. To make the syrup, sugar cane juice is heated very gently and the liquid is extracted, resulting in a concentrated, sweet syrup. Fermentation and distillation then take place as usual.
Another highlight is the storage of the premium rum. This takes place in the highlands, 2,300 meters above sea level, using the Solera method in white oak barrels.

Anejo 8 years

There is also a miniature version of the Anejo 8 years of 0.05l.
And it's not just its great light amber color that makes it stand out. Due to the low level of evaporation, which is what storage in the highlands aims to achieve, the 8-year-old rum produces a particularly fine aroma. On the nose, there is a pleasant aroma of fresh sugar cane and well-balanced spice notes. Vanilla and honey, as well as smoky notes are also recognizable. On the palate, the particularly soft rum shows itself in all its glory. A pleasant sweetness, beautiful spice notes and fine vanilla notes round off the taste.

Botran Rum Blanca 3 years 0.05L 40% miniature Protected designation of origin Botran is so proud of its products that the brand even has a protected designation of origin. This means that a product is named after the region or geographical area in which it was produced. This is done to protect a special characteristic, ingredient, production process, etc. that is typical of the region. In the case of Botran aged rum, this is due to special human and natural factors that play a role, but above all to the special volcanic soil conditions, the traditional production process and the climatic conditions. Many people may be familiar with Ron Zacapa rum as a product from Guatemala, but there are many other products from this area. Another distiller is Botran, who definitely deserves a lot of attention. Anyone who wants to try out this premium rum has the opportunity to taste the 3-year-old rum made from freshly pressed sugar cane juice from the distillery here in miniature. You will receive a small 50ml bottle of Botran Blanca 3 years. What can you look forward to at the tasting? Don't be misled into thinking that you're not getting a particularly clear rum here, but rather a slightly yellowish rum, despite the name 'Blanca'. For a completely clear white rum, it is normally subjected to a special filtering process after distillation. In addition to the colorings still contained, many flavors are also filtered out, so Botran forgoes this process and puts quality before quantity. In terms of taste, the white rum flatters every palate with its creamy, soft texture. It shows a balanced balance between sweet and dry. Great notes of vanilla and dried fruit are evident. The finish also reveals spicy wood notes and a pleasant peppery note.

Botran 5 Jahre 0,05L Miniatur 40%
Botran 5 Yo Miniature 0,05L 40%
Botran Rum 5 years 0.05 L 40% miniature Premium product from Guatemala The country, which lies between North and South America, offers the best conditions for growing sugar cane. A diverse ecosystem, volcanically enriched soil and the perfect climate for cultivation are the optimal basis for premium rum from Guatemala. The maturation process is also special here. Unlike most other rums, Botran rum is not stored in ordinary cellars, but is brought to rock caves in the highlands. Located at high altitudes, the altitude and the cooler temperatures prevent the rum from evaporating, allowing it to adapt its taste profile to suit its individual needs. Botran rum has been produced according to this uncompromising tradition for over six decades. Over time, a true art of rum production has been acquired and passed on from generation to generation. Botran 5 years The young Botran rum matured for around five to six years in the Solera process typical for Botran. For its young age, it is considered one of the best in this age category. With 40% vol., the rum has a pleasant drinking strength so that it doesn't seem too strong. Convince yourself of the premium rum from Guatemala and try the rum in the perfect sample size of 0.05L.

Brugal Ron 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar Doblemente Anejado 0,7L 40%
Brugal Ron 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar Doblemente Anejado 0,7L 40%
Brugal Ron 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar Doblemente Anejado 0.7L 40% Brugal Rum Rum from the Dominican Republic is hardly a rarity, but smaller companies still manage to develop a class of their own and stand out from the standard varieties and quality. Rum from the 'Brugal' distillery is one of these special products. Although the brand is one of the top brands in the country and you might think that the focus here is more on quantity than quality, you are wrong. Some of the distillery's special vintage bottlings are aimed particularly at connoisseurs and collectors and are not really for the general public. The premium rum was distilled twice and went through the first phase of maturation in former bourbon barrels, where the rum matures for a good eight years. This is followed by a second maturation phase, the finish, of up to six years in former Spanish sherry barrels. The finish in the sherry barrels can create a fine, sweet aroma which, in addition to the sweetness of the sherry, also reveals the aroma of various fruits. When you open the bottle, the nose initially reveals notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla and dried fruit. On the palate, the Brugal 1888 then unfolds its full aroma. In addition to toffee, there are notes of cocoa, red fruits, a hint of vanilla and the notes of raisins and dates resulting from maturation in bourbon barrels.

La Hechicera Extra Anejo Rum 0,05L 40%
La Hechicera Extra Anejo Rum 0,05L 40%
La Hechicera Extra Anejo Rum 0.05L 40% In Germany, rum is often associated exclusively with the Caribbean. But this perspective is more the result of the marketing of large corporations, because the largest producer of sugar cane spirits in the world is South America. From Mexico to Patagonia, rum and related products are the preferred spirit, which means that there are a variety of different rum styles on the South American continent. Colombian rum is particularly popular with connoisseurs. Colombian rum is often described as medium-heavy in body and fruity-chocolatey in taste. A well-known example is Dictador Rum, and the XO variants of this first-class rum in particular are highly praised by experts and connoisseurs. For several years, however, another Colombian rum has been fighting for the top position - La Hechicera Rum. La Hechicera Rum is produced in a part of Colombia that borders the Caribbean Sea and is exposed to similar climatic conditions as the famous Caribbean rums. The La Hechicera Extra Anejo Rum 0.05L 40%, distilled from molasses, matures for 12-21 years in American white oak barrels. The name is derived from the Spanish word "enchantress". And this rum also presents itself magically in the glass, with a color reminiscent of maple syrup. On the nose, it reveals elegant aromas of orange peel, toffee, wood and vanilla. On the palate, it unfolds an impressive complexity with explosive aromas of tobacco, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, walnuts and apricot. The finish is surprisingly mild and long. La Hechicera is definitely a rum that should be enjoyed neat or slightly chilled and is ideal as a digestif or accompaniment to a medium-strength Colombian cigar.

Pusser's Rum British Navy Rum 0.05L 40% Pusser's British Navy Rum has a rich tradition and is a premium blend with a long history. Since the conquest of Jamaica by the English fleet in 1655, the daily "Tots" of Rum was common practice in the Royal Navy. This tradition, carried out by an official called a "Purser" (colloquially "PUSSER"), served to provide moral support to sailors and was part of English seafaring tradition until 1970. However, with the advancement of technology and the increased risks associated with it, state-mandated drunkenness was curbed. Previously reserved exclusively for the Royal Navy, Pusser's Rum is now also available to landlubbers. Pusser's Rum British Navy Rum 0.05L 40% is made from a blend of six individual rums produced on various Caribbean islands, including the British Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Guyana. It impresses with its sweet bouquet and notes of caramel and spices.
