The manufacturer describes Blackwoods Vintage Dry Gin as the true essence of the Shetland Islands. For this gin, local smallholders collect a variety of the necessary bonaticals on the islands themselves every summer, with the harvest time limited to the months between July and September.
The ingredients collected from the Shetland Islands are then transported to the Scottish mainland, where Blackwoods is distilled in small batches. The bonaticals used include wild water mint, nutmeg, sand cloves, juniper berries, lily roots, liquorice, coriander, cinnamon, violet blossoms and turmeric (also known as turmeric).
Blackwoods Vintage Dry Gin, with its light salty note, is reminiscent of a walk by the sea on a windy day. With its typical juniper notes in the smell, this gin has a subtle sweetness, reduced juniper aroma and a soft body, which is due to the use of the purest spring water. Blackwoods Vintage Dry Gin is a very pleasant gin with a characterful and long-lasting aftertaste. The bottling offered here is a high-proof bottling with 60 percent alcohol by volume.
