Product information "Williams & Humbert Canasta 20Yo Cream Sherry 0,5L 20%"

Williams & Humbert Canasta 20 Years Cream Sherry 0.5L 20%

Quality liqueur wine from Andalusia

For the Canasta 20 Years Cream Sherry, a balanced blend of three grape varieties was chosen: Sobretablas, Palomino and Pedro Ximenez. Storage takes place according to Humbert & Williams in the Solera method, as well as in the Criaderas system in oak barrels. The corresponding aromas are created by the oxidation of the wood with the moisture and oxygen.

Taste in the sample

There are two well-known names for this type of sweet Oloroso Sherry: “Oloroso Dulce” or “Cream”, as is the case with this product. It is very gentle on the palate, velvety and warming due to the alcohol content. Aromas are clearly dried fruit and nuts, and a subtle association with raisins and browned sugar also spring to mind when tasting it.
This cream sherry goes best with almost any kind of dessert, but if you like, you can also drink it neat. In that case, however, it should be well chilled or at least drunk with a little ice.

Don Guido Solera Especial 20YO Pedro Ximenez 0,5L 18%
Don Guido Sherry Solera Especial PX 20 years 0.5L 18% This extremely delicate Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry is produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert in the Andalusian city of Jerez de la Frontera. Jerez looks back on a wine-growing tradition that goes back over 3000 years and gave the legendary sherry its name. After the white PX grapes have been dried in the sun on the "Almijar" for 15 days, a large part of the water has evaporated through the thin skins of the grapes and the sugary, raisined grapes remain. These are pressed in special presses and the resulting must is immediately fortified to 9% vol. After a maturing period until the cold period, the wine is fortified again, this time to 18% vol., and then transferred to the traditional Solera system. Several rows of barrels are stacked on top of each other and only the wine is taken from the bottom row of barrels for bottling. The wine taken out is refilled from the row of barrels above and the upper row of barrels is always filled with the youngest wine. This results in an incredibly harmonious taste.Don Guido Sherry Solera Especial PX matures for over 20 years in the Solera barrels and is bottled as a black mahogany-colored, viscous sherry. It flows into the glass like honey and has a characteristic aroma of raisins, nuts, oranges and figs. The aftertaste is very long, intense and warming. Ideal with sweet desserts and dark chocolate.

Williams & Humbert Dry Sack Medium Sweet Solera Especial 15 Yo 0,5L 20,5%
Williams & Humbert Dry Sack Medium Sweet Solera Especial 15 years 0.5L 20.5% Williams & Humbert Anyone who doesn't know the company yet will probably assume it's a British company because of the name. Although it has British origins, it is now a distillery in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia. As early as 1877, Sir Alexander Williams, a wine expert for sherry wines, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations at the time, dedicated themselves to the Williams & Humbert Bodega. They became known above all for their special storage and the resulting special quality. This is the solera process. Solera process The Dry Sack Medium Sweet Solera Especial 15 years is also a sherry that was produced using the solera process. The barrels are stacked in a pyramid shape, then a certain amount is taken from a barrel in the bottom row and filled into a barrel in the row above. This is continued until the top barrel, where the final product is then found. Products made using this process therefore always contain a mixture of short, medium and long-aged distillates. Dry Sack 15 Años Solera Especial Due to the long maturation of 15 years, this sherry is bursting with complexity and at the same time appears elegant and mature. Nuts and the aroma of dried fruit are clearly in focus, but accompanied by raisins and figs. Despite the significantly sweeter touch, it also has tart barrel notes. It is a sweet, 'medium sweet' sherry that goes particularly well with sweet desserts, chocolate or as an aperitif.

Williams & Humbert As You Like It Medium Sweet Sherry 0,5L 20%
Williams & Humbert As You Like It Medium Sweet Sherry 0,5L 20%
Williams & Humbert As You Like It Medium Sweet Sherry 0.5L 20% Cultural asset from Spain Anyone who wants to delve into the world of sherry flavors should try to start with a product from home. Andalusia, or rather the area around Jerez, is known worldwide for high-quality (and sometimes really inexpensive!) wines and sherries. You should do a bit of reading beforehand, as there is a lot of variety. Medium, cream, Oloroso and Amontillado are just a few special types, so you have to find out for yourself which product you particularly like. The Bodega Williams & Humbert is known for its sweeter blends, all of which are matured using the special Solera process, in which different barrel vintages are repeatedly blended together. Amontillado Blend The Montillado sherry variant is a special maturation process. The addition of yeast cultures creates a foamy layer of flor yeast. This prevents the distillate from reacting with oxygen. After a certain time, the yeast cultures die off and the so-called 'oxidative maturation' begins. The result is a very dry sherry. 'Blend' in this case indicates that a large proportion of Amontillado is still contained in order to be clearly perceptible, but it has a more noticeable sweetness. As you like it This special bottling was already available in the 1970s, but after falling demand and a general decline in interest in expensive sherry, it was discontinued. It is all the more pleasing that an untouched Solera from those years has been preserved. Since this was dry Amontillado, the As you like it series was intended to commemorate an old custom. Back then, people liked to add a little sugar to the strong, old Amontillado to make it more palatable. This time, the new edition of As you like it is the blend described above.

Fernando de Castilla Sherry PX Antique
Fernando de Castilla Sherry PX Antique, 0,5 L, 15%
Fernando de Castilla Sherry PX Antique La Frontera wine has been produced in the traditional Andalusian city of Jerez for over 3000 years. This makes it one of the oldest wine-producing cities in Spain. The city's most famous wine is probably the sherry named after it. A winery that has specialised in the production of high-quality sherries and brandies for over 150 years is the Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla. This Pedro Ximénez (PX) Antique Sherry is the house's flagship product. Only the best products are bottled in the Antique line, and this PX definitely belongs to this category. To produce it, the grapes of the grape variety of the same name are dried under the heat of the Andalusian sun. Over time, the water evaporates through the thin-walled berry skins and the fruit sugar concentrates naturally. When the berries have reached the appearance of raisins, they are pressed and the resulting wine is bottled in wooden barrels. Here it matures for many years and develops an incredible variety of aromas. The PX runs almost black and honey-like into the glass and shows intense dried fruit, nut, vanilla and orange aromas.A really great product that screams chocolate. The aftertaste is so long and intense that you'll gladly pour yourself another glass.

Fernando de Castilla Sherry Palo Cortado Antique The traditional house Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the heart of the old town of Jerez de la Frontera. The bodega was founded in 1837 and continuously supplies high-quality sherries and brandies. But not only the bodega, but also the city can look back on a long tradition. Wine was produced here over 3000 years ago and the legendary sherry was invented. A very special and rare form of sherry is the Palo Cortado. The base wine for this sherry was originally intended for the production of Fino Sherry, but for some reason did not develop a natural flor layer. This means that it matures more quickly and is aromatically a cross between an elegant Amontillado and a rather strong Oloroso. Fernando de Castilla only bottles his best sherries under the Antique line. Definitely a sherry with rarity value!

Fernando de Castilla Sherry Oloroso Antique The Andalusian city of Jerez de la Frontera can look back on a wine-growing tradition spanning over 3000 years. This makes it one of the oldest wine-growing cities in the world and is also the birthplace of sherry. The name of this speciality is derived from the anglicized form of the city's name. The traditional Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the heart of the old town of Jerez. Sherry and brandy of the highest quality have been produced here for over 150 years. The base wine for the Oloroso sherry is fortified with brandy to approx. 18% after vinification. The high alcohol content means that the yeasts do not have a suitable breeding ground and no flor layer can form on the sherry. The direct contact with air means that the Oloroso matures more quickly and intensively, and the alcohol content also increases over the years through slow evaporation.Only the best sherries are bottled for the house's Antique collection, so this Oloroso is also something very special. The nose shows clear notes of maturity, which can be perceived on the palate as nut and orange aromas. The aftertaste is dry and very long. Ideal for fine chocolate!

Cream sherry was created for the English market at the end of the 18th century by Harveys in Bristol. At that time, the English preferred very sweet products (such as sweet champagne) and gratefully accepted cream sherry. To make cream sherry, rich Oloroso sherry is combined with sweet wine made from Pedro Ximénez grapes. The result of this marriage is a mahogany-colored cream sherry with intense nut, fig and orange aromas. It fills the entire mouth with velvety flavors and warms you from the inside. Combined with chocolates, it makes a great digestif!

After the harvest, the thin-walled and very sugary grapes are exposed to the Andalusian sun to dry.
