Product information "Fernando de Castilla Sherry Fino Classic Dry, 0,75 L, 15%"

Fernando de Castilla Sherry Fino Classic Dry

Quality wine has been produced in the Andalusian city of Jerez de la Frontera for over 3000 years. The anglicized form of the city's name ultimately gave its most famous wine, sherry, its name.

The Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla has been located in the heart of the city since 1837 and produces sherry of the highest quality.

The house's fame is partly based on this Fino Classic Dry Sherry. The Fino Sherry is produced in the traditional way and matures under a thick layer of flor in open wooden barrels. This layer of yeast protects the wine from strong air contact and allows it to mature naturally. The result is a light golden sherry with a fine aroma and taste that is ideal as an aperitif.

Fernando de Castilla Solera Gran Reserva Selecto, 0,7 L, 40%
Fernando de Castilla Solera Gran Reserva Selecto 0.7L 40% Jerez de la Frontera is probably the most famous wine town in Spain and gives its name to the world-famous sherry. In the middle of the historic center of the city lies the Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla, which is known far beyond the country's borders for its sherries, brandies and vinegars. The estate's brandies are distilled only from selected white wines in a traditional alembic (distillation helmet). This distillation method, already known to the Arabs, enables the production of particularly flavorful spirits. All brandies produced by Fernando de Castilla belong to the two highest DO categories, Solera Reserva and Solera Gran Reserva. After distillation, they mature in new barrels made of French and American white oak.The special Selecto Brandy is the house's premium product and the result of the marriage of the house's best brandies in the classic Spanish Solera process. This brandy is a true gentleman. Extremely aromatic, but never intrusive. The aftertaste is gentle and soft and leaves a satisfied smile. A brandy that can compete with any good cognac.

Fernando de Castilla Sherry Manzanilla Classic, 0,75 L, 15%
Fernando de Castilla Sherry Manzanilla Classic 0.75L 15% The Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the heart of the Andalusian wine town. It has been producing sherry of the highest quality since 1837. Jerez is considered the heart of sherry production and gave the wine its name. Wine has been produced here for over 3000 years and the town is therefore one of the oldest wine towns in the world. This Manzanilla Classic is a very special product because it is exposed to the moist sea air during the maturation period. This creates a thicker layer of flor on the sherry than is the case with Fino sherry. This means that the wine matures more slowly and retains a slightly stronger acidity, as the thicker layer of yeast protects it even better against oxidation.Fernando de Castilla Sherry Manzanilla Classic is sold with its natural alcohol content of 15% and has a crisp, dry aroma. On the palate it is very fine and full of finesse. An excellent aperitif!

Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva 0,7L 36%
Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva 0.7L 36% The history of the Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla winery begins with the Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who began producing sherry wines in the Jerez region two centuries ago. The "Fernando de Castilla" brand was finally founded in 1972 by Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde with the aim of bottling some of the finest brandies in Spain under this name. The name goes back to King Fernando de Castilla "El Santo", who conquered large parts of Andalusia in the 13th century and discovered extraordinary soil and climatic conditions there, which made it possible to produce wines of exceptional quality. Spain is the country with probably the longest brandy tradition in Europe and is considered the largest brandy producer in the world, with 90% of the brandies produced in Spain coming from the region around Jerez de la Frontera on the Atlantic coast. Brandy from Spain is the only brandy in the world to have a designation of origin approved by the EU. Another special feature is the solera process used for storage and aging, which is not used for brandy or cognac, for example. Several rows of barrels are stacked on top of each other, with the youngest distillate being filled into the top row of barrels. The brandy intended for bottling is taken from the bottom row of barrels and the resulting loss in the barrel is made up by distillate from the row of barrels above. In this way, the manufacturers are able to offer their customers the most homogeneous taste possible for decades. Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva This process is also used for the Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva, which is stored for five years in a Solera system. The barrels used are made from American oak. The grape variety used for the base wine of the Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva is Airén. This is a white wine variety that is only grown in Spain and is also known as "Lairén" or "Aidé". The mahogany-colored Fernando de Castilla Solera Reserva impresses with its fruity aroma and a soft and very balanced taste.
