Wenneker

The distillery goes to work with a passion for good drinks and a desire to share this with the world. It has been family-owned since it opened in 1693 and sells high-quality liqueurs and spirits that have won many medals. At that time, Hendrick Steeman was granted a license to set up two brandy stills and so the history of the distillery began. In 1812, it was bought by Joannes Wenneker. In 1903, due to a lack of success, his great-grandson Franciscus had to hand it over to Johannes Cornelis van der Tuijn, who thus became the first generation of Van der Tuijns to have the say over the company. Today it is in the fourth generation.
With steadily growing success, the Wenneker distillery eventually became too small and they had to expand. As this was not permitted at the Schiedam location, the decision was made to move to Roosendaal, as there are good connections to shipping there, as Roosendaal is located between Rotterdam and Antwerp.
In around 230 years, the company has built up a very good reputation on the world market and the distillery's spirits can now be bought in over 50 countries.

Wenneker Zeer Oude Korenwijn

Like all products from the Wenneker distillery, Korenwijn is made based on original recipes from the 17th century.
Korenwijn consists of a combination of malt brandy, grain alcohol and a special distillate of Korenwijn, which consists of a special blend of spices and thus gets its subtle taste. The 3-year maturation phase in selected oak barrels, which hold less than 300 liters of distillate, is also special.
As a finish for the Very Old Korenwijn, this mixture is made drinkable from 60% vol. to 38% vol.

The opinion of customers has always played a major role at Wenneker and so the taste is tailored to the customers' preferences.
In order to achieve a perfect taste experience, only the best rye is used for the base. The botanicals used are the result of years of testing and are subject to the strictest secrecy, but it is clear that juniper must be included.

Das Korn - Echter Deutscher Doppelkorn 0,7 Ltr 38%
The Korn - Genuine German Doppelkorn 0.7 Ltr 38% The history of the Prussian Spirits Manufactory "The best raw materials, homemade macerates and distillates, complex processes, months of resting in earthenware vessels, ... the magic is always in the details." This is the guiding principle behind the production of schnapps at the Prussian Spirits Manufactory in Berlin - and has been since 1874. At that time, the building was built by Prussian cabinet order as an "experimental and training institute for spirits production" for the next generation of distillers and distillers. At the beginning of the 20th century, the distillery reached its peak under the name "Adler Spirituosen" and was able to achieve enormous sales with the production of liqueurs and drinking brandy. However, due to the two world wars that followed and the economic depression that intervened, sales figures collapsed and the distillery ultimately had to close down. Operations were only able to resume in the 1950s when the well-known master distiller Ernst Dobislaw took over management of the distillery. Unfortunately, the company was never able to repeat its previous successes, which was also due to the state monopoly on spirits that had existed up to that point, without which competition had become significantly tougher. Since 2005, however, the distillery, now renamed Prussian Spirits Manufactory, has been on the up again. Since then, the Spirits Manufactory has been under the management of Dipl.-Ing. Prof. Dr. Ulf Stahl and the qualified hotelier Gerald Schroff, who are constantly working on the perfection of their spirits from both a gastronomic and a technological point of view. Das Korn One of these spirits is an outstanding double grain called "Das Korn". "Das Korn" has successfully managed to put the somewhat dusty German spirit back in the spotlight. Not only is it made from the highest quality wheat, but the modern design of the bottles also sets "Das Korn" apart from comparable products. After careful distillation, "Das Korn" matures in stoneware vessels and has the opportunity to harmonize its aromas. The crystal-clear "Das Korn" is extremely mild on the nose and palate and shows fine nuances of wheat and a hint of vanilla in the medium-long aftertaste. An exciting product!

Zuidam Korenwijn 5 Jaar vatgelagerd, 0,5L 38%
Zuidam Korenwijn 5 Jaar vatgelagerd, 0.5L 38% The story of Zuidam It was in 1975 when the Dutchman Fred van Zuidam decided to found a small spirits factory. His clear philosophy behind it: to produce the highest quality distillates from the best basic ingredients! Even if this idea sounds simple at first, the implementation is very complex. After a long planning and concept phase, Fred van Zuidam finally built his factory on an area of just 300 m², which initially consisted of a copper pot still and a manageable bottling line. As with many newly founded companies, the first few years at Zuidam were a bit difficult, but the hard work paid off and just ten years later, Zuidam Distillers was one of the best known spirits companies in the Netherlands. The founder's wife, Helene van Zuidam, was also heavily involved in this. The designs she created and the use of her own bottle shape ensure Zuidam's special look, which is a unique selling point in the industry. Due to increasing demand, the production line was expanded in 1989 and a hall was added, so that production could now take up 600 m². Fred and Helene van Zuidam have now handed the company over to their two sons Patrick and Gilbert, and the production area has been expanded to 3600 m². While Patrick van Zuidam takes care of the processes within the distillery, his brother Gilbert is responsible for marketing and communications. The two sons are also committed to the principle of supplying customers with the best possible distillate! Zuidam Korenwijn 5 Jaar vatgelagerd This Zuidam Korenwijn Single Barrel, which has been stored in oak barrels for five years, is undoubtedly an extremely high-quality distillate. Korenwijn is a classic Dutch spirit that resembles the 18th century genever style and, like it, is considered the forerunner of gin. This barrel-aged variant impresses with a fine sweetness and notes of chocolate, vanilla and liquorice. The aftertaste is pleasantly mild and surprisingly long. The Zuidam Korenwijn 5 Jaar vatgelagerd is very suitable for authentically mixing gin-based cocktail creations from the 19th century.
