Famous Grouse

As early as the late 1890s, Sir Perthshire began producing the first whisky together with a wine merchant named Matthew Gloag. In order to establish themselves as a brand on the market and to be remembered by people, the two chose the capercaillie, which is widespread in Scotland, as their logo. At that time, the distillery was only known under the name Grouse, and it was not until the beginning of 1905 that the brand name was supplemented with Famous.

The Famous Grouse is a blended Scotch that has undergone a maturation phase in selected first fill sherry casks. In addition to products from the Highland Park distillery, the blend also contains whisky from Glenturret and Macallan, among others. The aromas on the nose are reminiscent of dark cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, the aromas of maturation in the sherry cask come through, accompanied by spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. Subtle woody notes and peat are also noticeable in the medium-length finish.

Only the best barrels from each region were selected, resulting in a balanced yet complex Scotch that will completely convince both whisky lovers and newcomers to this field. The aromas The nose initially reveals hints of smoke paired with slightly floral and fruity notes. This is intended to reflect Speyside and Islay. On the palate, the focus is on the character of Campbeltown and the islands, which are embodied by vanilla, toffee and a slight saltiness. The finish is rich and full of spices, which represents the Highlands and Lowlands.

Jameson Irish Whiskey, 1 L, 40%

Jameson Irish Whiskey 1.0L 40% The history of Jameson Whiskey Jameson Irish Whiskey is the world's best-selling Irish whiskey and is produced by the Jameson Distillery in Midleton. Even though Jameson Irish Whiskey in its current form has surprisingly only been around since 1968, the origins of the Jameson distillery go back to 1780. The Jameson distillery was founded by the immigrant Scotsman John Jameson. His son of the same name took over the distillery and managed to sell an enormous output for the time and finally founded a joint stock company in 1902. Jameson had to go through many crises over the course of the last century and sales dwindled massively due to American Prohibition and the increased import duties in the UK due to Irish independence. The other producers in the Republic of Ireland were no better off and so in 1966 a decision was made to cooperate. Jameson, Power and the Cork Distilleries then operated under the name Irish Distillers Group (IDG). Jameson Irish Whiskey has been produced by IDG in Midleton since 1968. The production of Jameson Irish Whiskey The mash for Jameson Irish Whiskey is made from both malted and unmalted barley. The malted barley is dried in closed kilns so that no smoke gets to the malt. As is usual for Irish whiskey, Jameson Irish Whiskey is triple distilled to guarantee a special purity. The subsequent storage takes place in former sherry, port wine and bourbon oak barrels. The house's master blenders then mix the individual barrels to create the typical taste of Jameson Irish Whiskey. The taste of Jameson Irish Whiskey Jameson Irish Whiskey is, as is typical for an Irish whiskey, relatively light on the nose and palate. Jameson Irish Whiskey is soft on the palate, with sweet sherry notes, delicate spice aromas, notes of citrus fruits and a hint of vanilla. The aftertaste of Jameson Irish Whiskey is dry and has a light fruity note.
