The history of MacNaMara Blended Whisky

MacNaMara Blended Whisky is produced by the company "The Gaelic Whiskies" on the Isle of Skye off the west coast of the Scottish mainland. The whisky company The Gaelic Whiskies was founded in 1976 by Sir Ian Noble to provide work on the island and at the same time produce an authentic whisky for the Gaelic-speaking population of Scotland. From the very beginning, The Gaelic Whiskies relied on traditional production methods. For example, the whiskies from The Gaelic Whiskies are largely not chill-filtered in order to preserve the authentic character of original Gaelic whiskies. The Gaelic Whiskies is one of the few remaining family-run Scottish whisky companies and the only whisky company based in the Inner Hebrides.

The production of MacNaMara Blended Whisky

The MacNaMara Blended Whisky is the main product of The Gaelic Whiskies. The MacNaMara Blended Whisky is a relatively light blended Scotch whisky with a high proportion of spicy grain whiskies. Like other Scottish blended whiskies, the MacNaMara Blended Whisky is a traditional blend of grain and malt whiskies. However, the whisky makers of the MacNaMara Blended Whisky do not like to reveal their cards, which is why the exact blend of the individual malt and grain whiskies is a secret. What is clear, however, is that the individual whiskies are distilled in both column stills and pot stills. The art of the house's master blenders then lies in producing a whisky that always tastes the same. The makers of MacNaMara Blended Whisky are without question masters of their craft and manage to give MacNaMara Blended Whisky its unmistakable taste every year.

The taste of MacNaMara Blended Whisky

The dark golden MacNaMara Blended Whisky is relatively light on the nose, but shows fine floral and spicy aromas. On the palate, MacNaMara Blended Whisky is light-hearted and surprises with clearly defined aromas of biscuit and citrus fruits. The medium-long aftertaste of MacNaMara Blended Whisky is stronger than the impression on the nose and palate. Overall, a beautiful blended whisky that shows that good Scotch is not only produced on the Scottish mainland.

Ordentlicher Whisky

Wie gewohnt zügig geliefert. Der Whisky ist zwar kein Highlight, liefert für den Preis aber eine gute Qualität.

The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey 0.7L 46% The myth lives on Like many whiskeys, rums, gins, etc., there is often something profound behind the name of the product. Be it a story about old sailors, tales from war or mythology. The Silkie blended Irish Whisky also uses one of these exciting creatures from old Irish or Scottish folklore. This great blended Irish whiskey is supposed to remind you of a mythological creature with its name and its 'irresistible' taste. According to stories, it lives in the water and resembles a seal there, but on land it transforms into 'irresistible' human-like creatures. 'Irresistible' is also the taste of this blended Irish whiskey, which was distilled and bottled for the Sliabh Liag Distillery - Donegal - Ireland. This is how a whiskey was designed that presents notes of fresh fruit on the nose. These include apricot and white grapes. Malt and honey as well as a floral note ensure a fresh whiskey. On the palate, this fruity part is accompanied by honey or syrup wafers, a little violet and a note reminiscent of perfume. The finish is rather short, a slightly bitter note with oak aroma comes through.

VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky 0,7L 40%
VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky 0,7L 40%
VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky 0.7L 40% VAT 69 - A great whisky classic The Scotch Whisky Vat 69 is as well known as Johnnie Walker, J & B or Black & White. In recent years, the popularity of the Vat 69 Blended Whisky has increased enormously thanks to the TV series "Band of Brothers", but even before that, it was on everyone's lips, literally. The Vat 69 is manufactured in the Scottish capital Edinburgh by the William Sanderson company. The company was founded in Leith in 1863 and was one of the first to offer whisky in bottles. Until then, it was common for pubs and hotels to buy whisky by the barrel and then resell it by the glass. The original shape of the bottle was modeled on a port wine bottle, as these were particularly robust. However, a different bottle format is used for this 0.375 L bottling. William Sanderson began working in the wine and spirits industry at the tender age of 13. At the age of 24, he opened his own business, which his son William Mark Sanderson also joined. Together, the two then decided to bring a new blended Scotch onto the market and started various barrels, which they tasted together with fellow blenders and friends. The participants chose the barrel with the number 69 - VAT 69 - by a large majority. Not only was a great new blended whisky born, but the right name was also found. The Vat 69 Blended Whisky quickly made a name for itself and was taken by Ernest Henry Shackleton on his famous Antarctic expeditions in 1914 and 1921. The taste of the VAT 69 Blended Scotch Whisky The Vat 69 is a fruity, light and creamy blend. On the nose, the blended whisky has fine fruity but also spicy aromas. On the palate, the Vat 69 is also spicy and has a fine malt sweetness. The rather short aftertaste reveals aromas of apple, malt and caramel. A great everyday whisky!

MacNaMara Madeira Finish Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% The name "Mac Na Mara" means "the son of the sea" in Gaelic and reflects the ancient maritime tradition of the Hebrides in Scotland. This region was historically closely linked to the Celtic sea kingdom that dominated the great sea routes from the Isle of Man to the Isle of Lewis, from the Middle Ages until well into the 16th century. The exquisite Gaelic MacNaMara Madeira Finish Blended Whisky 0.7L 40% was carefully selected and refined in Madeira barrels after a traditional maturation in bourbon barrels. The double maturation gives the limited edition MacNaMara Madeira Finish a subtle sweetness and increases its complexity. Aromas of almond blossom and cherry cake unfold on the nose, accompanied by a hint of spices and an exotic sea breeze. The palate is dominated by rich malt and a hint of peach, rounded off by a light note of light citrus jam. The buttery sweetness from the Madeira barrel and the golden raisin notes provide a pleasant balance. The finish is slightly creamy with a hint of baked apples, which perfectly rounds off the taste experience.
