Weller 12 Jahre Wheated Bourbon Whiskey 0,7L 45% Die Marke Weller, ursprünglich Teil der Stitzel-Weller Distilling Company, wird heute von der Sazerac Company in Frankfort, Kentucky, hergestellt. Die in Louisville, Kentucky, ansässige Stitzel Distillery produzierte vor der Prohibition den Old Rip Van Winkle und war während der 13 Jahre des "großen Experiments" unter staatlicher Lizenz aktiv, um "medizinischen Alkohol" herzustellen. Später wurden in dieser Brennerei bekannte Marken wie W.L. Weller, Cabin Still, Rebel Yell und Old Fitzgerald produziert. Nach mehreren Besitzerwechseln wurde die Destillerie 1991 schließlich geschlossen. Während die meisten Bourbon Whiskeys hauptsächlich Mais und Roggen als Grundlage verwenden, setzt Weller auf Weizen als zweites Getreide neben Mais. Diese Tradition geht auf William Larue Weller zurück, der als erster den damals üblichen Roggen durch Weizen ersetzte und 1849 seinen ersten Wheated Bourbon Whiskey herstellte. Der W.L. Weller 12 Jahre Wheated Bourbon Whiskey reifte 12 Jahre lang und hat einen mittleren Bernsteinton. Er bietet süße Noten, die sich harmonisch mit blumigen Aromen und Vanille verbinden. Sein Körper ist kraftvoll und ausgeprägt, mit einem ausgewogenen Mundgefühl. Fruchtige, honigartige Aromen spielen aufregend mit Vanille und scharfen, würzigen Tönen.
