The history of Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey

This exceptional bourbon takes its name from the small river Knob Creek, which gave its name to a small settlement near Bardstown. This place is closely linked to American history, as Abraham Lincoln spent part of his childhood here. Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon is part of the well-known small batch series from American Brands and is produced by the Jim Beam Distilleries in Clermont. Knob Creek Bourbon was created by the well-known master distiller Booker Noe, who wanted to revive the taste of bourbon whiskeys before Prohibition. Before the start of Prohibition in 1919, American whiskeys were stored for much longer and therefore had a more intense flavor than today's bottlings.

The production of Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey

The secret to producing Knob Creek is that every step of the production process tries to adhere to the standards of the time before Prohibition. For example, the grain mix for the mash is blended in the pre-Prohibition style and stored for at least nine years in extremely charred oak barrels. This gives Knob Creek an incredible aroma that sets it apart from standard bourbons. The only addition that Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey receives after barrel storage is water. It is diluted to 50% ABV with pure spring water. diluted and is therefore significantly stronger than regular bourbons.

The taste of Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey

The nine-year storage makes Knob Creek robust and complex and gives it a color reminiscent of copper and medium amber. Aromas of roasted nuts, grains and oak on the nose. On the palate, Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey is intense and sweet, with a full body, paired with fruity notes, vanilla and classic bourbon aromas. The aftertaste of Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey is very glowing, long and intense.

Maker's Mark Bourbon Cask Strength 0.7L 54.75% American Bourbon Distillery Makers Mark, or sometimes also known as Star Hill Distillery, is an American bourbon whiskey distillery in Kentucky. It was founded by the Samuels family, which can also be seen in the logo. It features a circle broken up by a five-pointed star and an S for the founders' surname. In 1780, Robert Samuels, a retired officer, moved from Pennsylvania to Kentucky to work as a farmer and distiller. It was not until a grandson that he began commercial whiskey production in 1844. Every whiskey that leaves the distillery is not only presented in a really special bottle. In addition, each label is handmade and each bottle is individually sealed by hand with wax. Bourbon Cask Strength This Bourbon Cask Strength matures for a slightly longer time than is actually intended for Bourbon, namely six years in white oak barrels. This gives the whisky a much more mature taste than its younger counterparts. Another special feature: it has not been filtered and comes to the house at cask strength. It also impresses with its spicy, soft character and notes of vanilla, caramel and oak.

Knob Creek Cask Strength Straight Rye Whiskey 2010 0.7L 63.5% The Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye 2010 is an unfiltered whiskey that perfectly represents the distinctive pre-Prohibition style. All of the rye used in this bottling dates back to 2010 and was stored in Warehouse A in Frankfort, Kentucky. This warehouse is the oldest on the Jim Beam estate and was built in 1915. The Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye is a bold addition to the Knob Creek portfolio and embodies the unique style that Booker created 26 years ago. The Knob Creek Cask Strength Straight Rye Whiskey 2010 presents itself in a radiant golden amber. Its fascinating aroma is a successful composition of dill, spices, honey and charred oak. The taste shows a balanced fusion of dill and cloves, which gradually turns into sweet baking spices with subtle wood nuances. The finish is light on the tongue, with the warm baking spices lingering and ending in a characteristic "Kentucky Hug" that highlights the impressive cask strength.
