El Dorado Rum Blended in the Barrel 2010/2019 Diamond Port Mourant is a limited edition blended rum from Guyana that comes from two special distillation processes: the Diamond Continuous Coffey Still and the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still. Unlike traditional rums, the distillates of these two types are mixed together immediately after distillation and not after maturation.

The El Dorado Rum 2010/2019 Diamond Port Mourant is bottled with an alcohol content of 49.1% vol. and presents sweet, spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon as well as dark chocolate on the nose. Aromas of vanilla, molasses and licorice unfold on the palate, while the long finish leaves a dry wood note.

This limited edition Albert Michler rum was distilled in 2010 on the Fiji Islands and was aged for 6 years in oak barrels in the tropical climate before being shipped to Great Britain in 2017, where it was allowed to enjoy a second maturation in former bourbon barrels. Bottled at an impressive 53.7% ABV, the Albert Michler Fiji 2010/2022 Single Cask Collection Rum offers aromas of chocolate and orange on the nose. Notes of chocolate pastries and bread are also present. Slightly woody tannins give the bouquet a subtle complexity. You can also smell a hint of volcanic earth. It is clear, spicy and powerful on the palate. The first sip unfolds a dynamic energy that is reminiscent of an alcohol-soaked chocolate cake. A spicy mixture of cake, chocolate and orange unfolds in the mouth. The pleasant pinch of oak, tobacco and chocolate rounds off the taste experience. The Foursquare Rum 2010 Cask Strength matures for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels and presents full-bodied notes. The British Navy received barrels of high-proof rum to disinfect the drinking water on board. On long sea voyages, where water spoiled quickly, it was kept germ-free by adding rum. Each sailor therefore received a daily ration of 0.5 liters (!) of rum. To cope with this enormous amount, up to 300 distilleries in Guyana provided supplies. However, the excessive consumption of rum was by no means beneficial to the health of the sailors. For this reason, rum rations were gradually reduced and eventually eliminated when alternative methods of preserving water on long voyages were developed. This unique El Dorado Rum consists of carefully selected rums distilled in the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still, the Enmore Wooden Coffey Still and the now closed Tri-Canada Still. All components were distilled in 1998, then married and aged for 24 years in former bourbon barrels under the tropical climate of Guyana. This molasses rum is free from cold filtration and additives and has a golden color. On the nose it reveals fruity notes with a hint of anise. On the palate it is fruity with aniseed aromas and a subtle wood tone. The finish is medium-long and soft.
