History
Wormwood has long been considered a healing herb. The famous doctor Hippocrates already knew about its significant effects in the 5th century. In the 18th century, the first vermouth was produced in the Italian region of Piedmont. This was a slightly sweet wine mixed with herbs that quickly became known for its appetite-stimulating effect. The French quickly followed suit and quickly brought their own version onto the market, but these were significantly drier than those of the Italians. Dry vermouth is also known as 'dry' and only wines without residual sugar are used here, which are also not sweetened, because a dry vermouth can only contain four grams of sugar per 100 cubic centimeters of wine.
Then there is the color distinction: white 'Bianco' and red 'Rosso'. However, red wine does not always consist of red grapes; sometimes wine is made from white grapes and colored reddish with the help of caramelized sugar.
BCN MUT Barrel Aged
This special vermouth is available in a limited edition of just around 600 bottles.
BCN is not cold-filtered and is stored for 9 months in its own French barrels with a capacity of a good 425 liters.

As with every BCN product, the secret lies in the herbs and spices used. These all come from the mountains of the Priorat. In addition to rosemary and wild herbs, these also include juniper, elderberry and bergamot. The combination with other fresh ingredients makes each product something unique.

The smell is reminiscent of licorice mixed with tobacco and vanilla aromas.
The BCN MUT Negra is also very dry and full of complex aromas. In addition to wild herbs, cinnamon and elderberry, aromas of blackberries and bitter oranges are mixed in and give this great vermouth an extraordinary taste.
BCN MUT Negra is perfect for a spritz mixed with soda and ice. It is also ideal for a good old martini with olives.

BCN Gin 0,7L 40%
BCN Gin 0.7L 40% Gin from Barcelona Spanish gins have been able to establish themselves on the shelves of the markets for some time now. This now includes the 'Prior Barcelona Dry Gin' - BCN Gin from southern Catalonia. BCN is the abbreviation for Barcelona Airport, the capital of Catalonia and not far from the Priorat. The BCN Gin is a dedication to Barcelona because almost nowhere else is as much gin and tonic enjoyed as in the Spanish capital. The motto behind this juniper schnapps "Distilled in the Priorat - enjoyed in Barcelona" reflects exactly this. Just like the ingredients, which mainly come from the region, such as the grapes used, which come from a wine-growing region in Priorat, and water from the "Font del Mas Petit", the in-house spring. Grapes as the basic raw material for the distillate The basis of this Mediterranean gin is Carignan and Grenache grapes, from which first-class wine is also made in the region. The region around Priorat is known for its barren slate soils and the intense sunlight, which allows the grapes to reach their full potential and gives the wine a strong complexity. The pomace that remains after wine production is then distilled in an Arnold Holstein distillery from Germany. With its slightly different botanicals for flavoring the neutral alcohol, the BCN Gin stands out from the crowd. Herbs such as rosemary and fennel are used, all of which come from the mountainous region south of Barcelona and give the brandy its Mediterranean character. Sweet figs bring fruity notes. The carefully balanced ingredients are rounded off with citrus fruits from the south of Catalonia. When you open the bottle, a sweet aroma hits your nose, followed by Mediterranean herbs that immediately give you the feeling of being somewhere by the sea. The taste is exceptionally good. Juniper, grapes and citrus fruits are perfectly balanced. The spicy notes and the sweet fig are also clearly noticeable. In conclusion, it can be said that a premium gin of the highest class has been created here, which every gin lover should definitely try!!!

BCN Vermouth 0,75L 18%
BCN Vermut 0.75L 18% "Anar a fer el vermut" - Let's go and drink some vermut Vermut has a long history. In ancient Greece it was already administered as a medicine for the digestive tract. In Barcelona too it has always been 'sacred'. The wormwood herb stimulates the appetite and the famous doctor Hippocrates attributed healing properties to the plant early on. The use of wormwood as a medicine soon changed to an aperitif and it was used in numerous cocktails. The tradition of making vermouth in Catalonia is of great importance and is passed down from generation to generation. Today, vermouth is an indispensable part of life and has become the absolute favorite aperitif of the people living there, and no family celebration should be without it! Wermut or Vermouth? Wermut is the German name, and this name can also be found on Swiss and Austrian labels. In Europe, vermouth is only reserved for Italian and French products, but in the USA this name is also permitted for domestic products. A distinction is also made between white, i.e. 'Bianco', and red, 'Rosso' vermouth. BCN Vermouth Only the fruits of the old Grenache and Carinena vines from the Terra Alta wine-growing region in southern Catalonia are used for BCN Vermouth. The local microclimate with very dry winds coming from the Ebro Valley and a clayey and limestone-rich soil offer the best conditions for the Garnacha Blanca. The alcohol used to fortify the wine is distilled by hand. Traditional spices such as cloves, cinnamon and wormwood are added during the maceration. To make the BCN stand out from the crowd, botanicals that are typical of the mountains of the Priorat are added. These consist primarily of juniper, rosemary, elderberry and orange zest. BCN Vermouth has a strong orange-caramel color. This is inspired by the original color of the Vermouth from the village of Falset in the Priorat, which has been around since 1919. The taste of the Vermouth is rather dry but full of complex aromas such as bergamot, elderflower and wild herbs, which are rounded off by a hint of orange zest.
