History and production of the Aberfeldy 12 year old:

The Aberfeldy distillery was founded in 1896 by the two brothers John and Tommy Dewar in the town of the same name. For a long time, Aberfeldy was only known for the famous Dewar's Blended Whisky, which was particularly popular in the USA. The focus on single malt whisky only came later.

The extensive portfolio now includes bottlings from 12 to 28 years and inspires countless whisky fans all over the world. This is mainly because the single malt whiskies from Aberfeldy are all extremely soft and mild, but at the same time also provide an intense taste experience. The Aberfeldy 12 years has a deep dark color reminiscent of amber, in keeping with its age. On the nose, it initially presents itself as typical for a Highland malt. Subtle, well-integrated fruit notes of apples, pears, lemons and pineapple are supported by a pleasant sweetness composed of aromas of vanilla, malted barley and honey wafers. Overall, very delicate and natural, the Aberfeldy 12 years impresses with its incomparable harmony without rough edges.

The velvety mildness and softness are also noticeable on the tongue. Very oily and viscous, the Aberfeldy 12 years caresses the taste buds and leaves behind rich notes of raisins, fruit bread, baked apples and candied oranges.
