Official Whiskey of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival

1792 Ridgemont Reserve Barrel Select is produced in Bardstown, Kentucky, the heart of the US whiskey industry, at the Barton Brands Distillery, and is a small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Like the Buffalo Trace Distillery, the Barton Brands Distillery belongs to the Sazerac Company, known for its 6-year-old rye whiskey sold under its own label. There are a number of bourbon whiskey distilleries in and around Bardstown, including Heaven Hill, Jim Beam and Makers Mark. Bardstown is also the venue for the annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival, an event with great appeal for bourbon whiskey lovers all over the world. In 2012, 1792 Ridgemont Reserve is the official bourbon of the multi-day event.

In 1792, Kentucky became a state of the USA

1792 Ridgemont Reserve Barrel Select is a bourbon whiskey that has been aged for 8 years in new, freshly charred white oak barrels and is bottled at 93.7 proof or 46.85% ABV. and its large letters refer to the year 1792, the year when Kentucky became the 15th state of the USA. Priced in the upper price segment for bourbon whiskey, this fine and wonderfully complex small batch whiskey is in direct competition with well-known brands such as Woodford Reserve or Knob Creek.

It has only been called 1792 Ridgemont Reserve since 2004, after the Brown Forman Corporation, owner of brands such as Jack Daniels and Woodford Reserve, successfully sued against the original name "Ridgewood Reserve 1792" and the Barton Brands Distillery was forced to change the name.

1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in taste

Colored in an inviting, dark amber tone, the nose immediately reveals clear tones of spicy rye and ripe fruit such as bananas, orange peel and apples, paired with caramel. Rye tones dominate the aroma and are supported by oak notes. Rye repeats on the palate, with notes of pepper, mint, liquorice, cinnamon bark and a good portion of wood tones. Once the first burst of oak has evaporated, nuances of raisins, dried apricots and apples can be perceived. The aftertaste is extremely dry and lacks the well-known bourbon sweetness, but offers a medium-long finish with rye and oak.

Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey, 1 L, 40%
Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey, 1 L, 40% Whiskey production after Prohibition In 1934, shortly after the end of Prohibition, Heaven Hill Distillers Inc. was founded in Bardstown, Kentucky by the Shapira family. At the time, this new market was a highly speculative business, comparable to the internet market of the 1990s. The risk for Heaven Hill was enormous, as it had no brands or whiskey stocks of its own - and this in the middle of the "Great Depression". After a short, successful production phase, the distillery was closed by the US government in 1942 to produce spirits for the war effort. After the end of the war and the entry of Earl Beam, from the Jim Beam Company, as master distiller in 1946, things went steeply uphill again. It was finally in 1957 that Evan Williams Bourbon was introduced and quickly became the most popular bourbon in the USA. Heaven Hill Distillery today Over the years, Heaven Hill introduced numerous successful brands such as Elijah Craig and Rittenhouse Rye and became the largest family-run spirits company in the USA. The company now has 900,000 barrels of whiskey in its halls. These are the seventh largest bourbon whiskey stocks in the world. In addition to bourbon, the company also sells other spirits such as Hpnotiq Liqueur and Pama Pomegranate Liqueur. Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey is the company's very high-quality base bourbon, which is a delight both neat and in cocktails. Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey is very young and is stored for at least 4 years and a little longer. The nose reveals an intense rye aroma and sweet spiciness. On the palate it is spicy, light with a hint of wood. The aftertaste is warm and pleasant with a sugar/caramel note.
