Midsummer is a fun time in Scandinavia, as the days are particularly long and the nights extremely short. The northern European countries celebrate the brightness and summer on Midsummer's Eve on June 24. Scandinavian spirits such as gin and Akvavit harmonize with this happy time of year - both neat and as a mixed drink.

Gin is an ingredient in numerous drinks. The classic Martini drink can only succeed with an excellent quality gin. This is undoubtedly a perennial favorite at stylish cocktail parties and sophisticated evenings with friends on the roof terrace. But if that's not summery enough for you, you can serve this spirit to your guests in a whole new guise. How about a bramble full of berry flair? To make it, mix 5 cl of gin with 2 cl of lemon juice and 1 cl of sugar syrup. Five decorative and delicious blackberries are added to the glass for an extra summer touch. The Gin & Juice is less citrusy, but no less refreshing. For this, 5 cl of gin is mixed with 15 cl of red grape juice. A zest of grapefruit is added to the glass as a decorative and refreshing garnish. Those who prefer to concentrate on the essentials - the whisky - will opt for the legendary Old fashioned, which never goes out of fashion: 6 cl whisky, 0.5 cl Demarara sugar syrup, 2 dashes Angostura Bitters, 1 dash Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters and 1 orange and 1 lemon zest.
