Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port 2013 0.75L 19.5%

Quinta do Infantado has a long history dating back to its foundation in 1816. Named after the Infante D. Pedro, later King D. Pedro IV of Portugal and D. Pedro I of Brazil, the estate remained in the possession of the Roseira family for over a century. It is located about 4 km from Pinhão, in the heart of the unique terroir of Vale de Gontelho, a micro-region known for the quality of its wines. For six generations, the Roseiras from Covas do Douro have lived a life in harmony with the vineyards and wines with passion and commitment. The first two generations devoted themselves exclusively to viticulture until João Lopes Roseira began producing fortified wines by purchasing Quinta do Infantado. In 1979, his sons Luís and António began bottling their Port wines at Quinta do Infantado, realising the family dream. This innovation broke the monopoly of the négociants of Vila Nova de Gaia and made Quinta do Infantado a winery that grew and bottled Port wine. After the death of Luís and António, their heirs continued the search for the highest quality and continued the path of innovation in tradition. Quinta do Infantado cultivates 46 hectares of vineyards in Covas do Douro, 100% classified with the highest official classification A of the Douro Delimited Region. Of these, 12 hectares are organic and 34 hectares are in integrated production, which favours sustainable viticulture. The soils are slate and poor, and the vines were selected by mass selection from over 20 Douro varieties between white and red. This diverse vineyard landscape allows Quinta do Infantado to produce a variety of wines without manipulation.

The Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port 2013 0.75L 19.5% comes from the Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional grape varieties grown on the estate. Its palate reveals sweet, black berry aromas accompanied by clearly noticeable tannins. This port wine is perfect as a dessert wine to enjoy neat or in combination with nuts and cheese. A truly delicious treat for special moments and fine palates.

Quinta do Infantado Port 10 Years Tawny, 0,375 L, 19,5%
Quinta do Infantado Port 10 Years Tawny, 0.375 L, 19.5% The history of Quinta do Infantado Quinta do Infantado is a small port wine estate from the town of Pinhão in the Gontelho region of the Douro Valley. Like many other small estates, Quinta do Infantado was severely limited in the sale of its port wines until 1986. This was due to a trade law that only allowed the export of port via the port city of Vila Nova de Gaia. Since many smaller producers could not afford a trading location within the city area, their only option was to sell their port wines domestically or to sell them by the barrel to large manufacturers. Fortunately, this law was overturned, allowing port wine lovers all over the world to enjoy high-quality port wines from previously lesser-known companies. In the area of estate-bottled ports, Quinta do Infantado is now one of the leading suppliers! The production of port at Quinta do Infantado Quinta do Infantado has several terraced vineyards which, due to their soil conditions, provide ideal conditions for growing grapes. The greatest emphasis is placed on manual work when harvesting and caring for the vineyards. After the grapes have been picked by hand, they are taken to the winery and crushed there in the traditional way. In this case, traditional means that the vineyard workers trample the grapes with their feet. This is still the gentlest method, as mechanical presses often damage the grape seeds and bitter substances get into the port. After fermentation has been stopped with brandy, the still young and fiery port is stored in barrels and tanks. The Quinta do Infantado Port 10 years This bottling is a 10-year-old Tawny Port. So in the end it is a Ruby Port that has been stored for a long time and which has transformed some of its fresh and fruity notes into mature notes of nuts, dried fruit and caramel during the long storage period. The aftertaste is very long and this 10 year old Tawny Port is quite rightly considered one of the best in its class!

Quinta do Infantado Port 20 Years, 0,75 L, 19,5%
Quinta do Infantado Port 20 years, 0.75 L, 20% The history of Quinta do Infantado Until 1986, all port wines that were to be transported had to go through the port city of Vila Nova de Gaia. Since many small producers could not afford a trading location there, their only option was to sell the wines in their own country or to sell them by the barrel to the large corporations. The small winery Quinta do Infantado was also affected by this law. The estate is located in the Gonthelo region, which is particularly known for the good quality of the grapes grown there. After the trade law was overturned, Quinta do Infantado and its ports quickly made a good name for themselves abroad. The winery is now considered a leading provider of estate-bottled ports - ports that are bottled directly on the winery. The production of port wines at Quinta do Infantado The Quinta's vines grow on terraced vineyards and are cultivated using traditional methods. This includes harvesting by hand and then pressing the grapes with the feet of the vineyard workers. This natural method is far gentler than mechanical pressing, as this is the only way to ensure that the majority of the grape seeds remain intact and that fewer bitter substances get into the pressed juice. After a short but intensive fermentation, the yeast activity is stopped by adding brandy. This is followed by storage, which can last several decades. The Quinta do Infantado Port 20 years This is also the case with the Quinta do Infantado Port 20 years, which is stored for a total of 20 years. During this long storage period, this Tawny Port develops a color reminiscent of amber with light brown reflections. On the nose and palate, the twenty-year-old port is reminiscent of plums, dried apricots, figs and walnuts. The long aftertaste is characterized by the aroma of vanilla and hazelnuts. To allow this rare port to develop its full aroma, we recommend decanting it at least an hour before consumption.

Quinta do Infantado Porto Miniatures, 5x0,05 L, 19,5%
Quinta do Infantado Porto Miniatures, 5x0.05 L, 19.5% The story of Quinta do Infantado If you mention the term Vila Nova de Gaia in the Douro Valley in Portugal, you will often hear cursing words from the owners of smaller wineries. Until 1986, all port wines intended for export had to be shipped via the port city of Vila Nova de Gaia. This often made it impossible for the operators of small houses to sell their wines abroad, as they simply could not afford to operate a trading office in Vila Nova de Gaia. However, after the law was overturned, completely new markets opened up for the producers and port wine lovers all over the world had the opportunity to taste numerous new bottlings. Among the small wineries, Quinta do Infantado in particular has established itself in recent years and is now considered the leading supplier of estate-bottled ports - in other words port wines bottled on the winery. The production of port wines at Quinta do Infantado Quinta do Infantado is considered a very traditional producer. The vineyards of this estate are still worked by hand, which includes harvesting the grapes. The harvest is then traditionally pressed with the feet of the vineyard workers. This is the only way to guarantee that the majority of the grape seeds remain intact and that only a small amount of bitter substances get into the pressed juice. The short and intensive fermentation that follows is interrupted with brandy and the still young and fiery port is then stored. Very different port wines are produced depending on the grapes and the type of storage. This gift set contains five of the most popular bottlings from Quinta do Infantado. The contents of the gift set This small but fine gift set contains a total of five different port wines. A mild, white port that is particularly suitable as an aperitif is included, as is a young and fruity Ruby Port that is best enjoyed with food. The Tawny Port and the Reserva Especial, which are also included, have a slightly stronger aroma. They have been aged for several years and are comparable to the intensity of a Vintage Port. Last but not least, the Reserva Dona Margarida is also included. A six-year-old Tawny Port with the great aroma of dried fruit, nuts and vanilla. This set is the ideal gift for every port wine lover!
