Reimonenq Rhum Agricole Blanc Manta Selection 2021 0.7L 55%

Maison ReimonenQ, a rather lesser-known distillery, is located in the commune of Sainte-Rose in northern Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe. It was founded in 1914 by two Finnish brothers, Léopold and Fernand Reimonenq. Fernand, in charge of production, is distinguished by his inventiveness and improves the supply of cane sugar while ensuring its cleanliness. His son Léopold, born in 1933, still attaches great importance to the quality of the selected sugar canes and to ensuring that they never touch the ground to guarantee the quality of the rum. Léopold Reimonenq was proud to acquire the first tractor in the region and to introduce the first sugar cane cutting machines in the archipelago. Part of the rum produced annually at the distillery matures in 200-liter oak barrels. The terroir of Basse-Terre is characterized by volcanic soils and dense, humid vegetation, which creates optimal conditions for growing sugar cane.

Reimonenq Rhum Agricole Blanc Manta Selection 2021 0.7L 55%, harvested in 2021, is an agricultural white rum that has been fermented in stainless steel tanks for over a year. The slow reduction to 55% vol. has given this brandy a unique flavor composition characterized by sweet and fruity aromas of mango, Peyi apricot and Liana apple. Spicy notes of star anise, cinnamon and mint complete the taste experience.

The deep blue bottle features a manta ray on the label, as a tribute to the collective spirit and complementarity of the transatlantic captains.
