Plantation Rum Trinidad 2009 One Time Limited Edition 0.7L 51.8%

The new one

Trinidad 2009 One Time Limited Edition is a particularly noble and rare drop simply because of its origin. Rum from the Caribbean island of Trinidad is known for its intense and spicy aromas, but products from the former local distilleries are rarely found anymore. So it is all the more pleasing when a bottler has managed to get hold of the limited stocks. This Plantation Trinidad 2009 is also a limited edition.

This rum was produced by Trinidad Distillers Limited and, after distillation in Trinidad, matured for 11 years in former bourbon barrels. The rum was then shipped to Europe, more precisely to Maison Ferrand in France, where it was left to mature for another year in ex-cognac barrels.
The main aromas are tonka bean, coffee, vanilla and toffee. On the palate there are notes of cooked fruit and roasted nuts. All in all, the 2009 One Time is an absolutely harmonious rum, with other aromas such as pastries and light smoky and woody notes emerging in the long finish.

Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaica Rum 0.7L 43% Maison Ferrand France Maison Ferrand is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of the finest volumes. The company was founded in 1989 by Alexandre Gabriel. He wanted to keep forgotten and old artisanal methods alive, but at the same time promote new innovations. The first fine brandy was Ferrand Cognac, 100% regional and with a long history. This was followed by Citadelle Gin and in 1999 Plantation Rums. The latter was intended to represent his passion for old techniques of rum production. He introduced the double maturation process, which is still used in every Plantation Rum today and which distinguishes this rum. This means that first the normal maturation takes place in ex-bourbon barrels. After this maturation phase, the barrels are taken to Château de Bonbonnet in France, where they are transferred to smaller barrels made from French oak by Ferrand and undergo a second maturation phase. In 2017, the West Indies Rum Distillery was bought by the French company. The company also has a one-third share in the Long Pond Distillery and the Clarendon Distillery. Plantation Rum remains at the top when it comes to excellent rum, as Planation Rum was one of the first and most famous bottlers, which is evidence of a great deal of knowledge and craftsmanship. Latest bottling The Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaica Rum has been on the market since 2018. It is a blended rum made from rum varieties from the Long Pond Distillery and the Clarendon Distillery. It was then further refined by extended maturation in selected cognac barrels. In terms of taste, it keeps its promise. Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Rum is a dry rum, which means that no additional sugar has been added. It impresses with its fruity, spicy aromas. As the tasting progresses, other great aromas such as vanilla, ripe bananas and roasted pineapple emerge. There is also a hint of bitter orange. As the tasting progresses, other subtle aromas emerge. These include coconut, allspice, nuts and fruity notes of pears. In conclusion, it can be said that the Xaymaca rum is a very complex bottling, but never seems overloaded. It is a great rum that is very suitable for beginners, especially in terms of value for money.

Plantation Rum Australia 2007 One Time Limited Edition 0,7L 49,3%

Plantation Rum Australia 2007 One Time Limited Edition 0.7L 49.3% Rum from Down Under We're used to a lot with Plantation Rum and it feels like they've presented rum from all over the world, but there's one place they haven't yet covered, and so Maison Ferrand is presenting the result of their collaboration with the Beenleigh Artisan Disitllery from Australia. The foundation for this excellent rum, which is made from sugar cane molasses with two different yeasts, was laid back in 2007. This was followed by 13 years of maturation in the country of distillation before Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel selected 21 barrels for further maturation. These were then finished for another year in ex-Ferrand cognac barrels under French conditions. Taste The taste is characterised by wonderful notes of stone fruit such as apricots and peaches, which are underlined by vanilla and coconut. Fresh citrus notes and a hint of cocoa are also added. The tropical fruity notes also linger for a long time in the aftertaste.

Long Pond Rum ITP 15 Jahre Single Mark Rum Special Edition 0,7L 45,7%
Long Pond Rum ITP 15 Jahre Single Mark Rum Special Edition 0,7L 45,7%

Long Pond Rum ITP 15 Years Single Mark Rum Special Edition 0.7L 45.7% Long Pond - sugar settlement and distillery The Jamaican spirits distillery 'Long Pond' was founded in the middle of the 18th century and is one of the most influential distilleries on the island alongside Hampden and Monymusk, for example. The distillery, located in the municipality of Trelawny, is one of the few remaining distilleries on the island that has managed to remain steadfast over the centuries despite steadily falling sugar prices and industrialization. Long Pond does not have its own clear, recognizable style. By taking over various distilleries, their equipment and their distilling styles, Long Pond is broadly positioned and can therefore now offer a wide range of rum styles. In general, however, it can be said about traditional Jamaican rum that it is more in the high ester range, although Long Pond categorizes it much more finely than the usual general classification. ITP/LSO One of these special 'marks', as these categories are called, is the Distillery Mark 'ITP' - 'Ive Trelawny Pot'. This rum has been distilled at Long Pond since the 1980s and has an ester content of 90-120 (gr/hlpa). This mark was first mentioned in 2018 by the French independent bottler Maison Ferrand.
