Michler's Jamaican Artisanal Dark Rum 0.7L 40% incl. cup

The origins of the British distillery lie in Silesia, an area that was once part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and is now mostly in Poland. In 1863, Albert Michler founded his liqueur and spirits factory in Buchsdorf and quickly made a name for himself throughout the empire and kingdom for his distillates. In addition to local herbal distillates, his products also included imported rums from the Caribbean, and he was one of the first traders to bring exotic spirits to Europe. One outstanding recognition was his appointment as official supplier to the imperial and royal court, making Michler the rum supplier to the royal army.

Although the distillery is now based in England, the spirit of the founder lives on in the bottles. The dark rum is made from various distillates, with the mash always coming from original Jamaican sugar cane. The rum from this mash is distilled using the traditional pot still method, which is done in batches due to the small stills and increases the quality of the distilled product. After 5 to 25 years of maturation in white oak barrels, the Artisanal Dark Rum is blended by experienced Caribbean distillers.

The result is a wonderful dark rum that clearly shows its Jamaican origins. The distillate is round, balanced and yet strong in taste, thanks to the spirits that are up to 25 years old. It combines spicy wood notes from the oak barrels, fruity-sweet grapes and appealing nuances of sugar cane molasses to create a harmonious, dark beauty.

The tropical climate and fertile soil make the Caribbean island ideal for growing sugar cane. The actual sugar production also produces molasses, a thick, brown mass that still contains a lot of sugar and is the basic ingredient for rum distillation. English merchants discovered early on that, in addition to sugar cane cultivation, rum production in Barbados is a real gold mine and so many smaller distilleries were built on the island. The distillation of molasses rum is still firmly anchored in Barbados and fills Barbadians with great pride. The rums are mainly distilled in small pot stills and have a strong taste, with notes of molasses and caramel predominating. The name Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserva 1863 0.7L 40% goes back to the Albert Michler liqueur, rum and spirit factory, which was founded in 1863 in Buchsdorf, Austria-Silesia. In addition to the world-famous Buchsdorfer Magenbitter, numerous overseas rums were also imported and sold. However, with the end of the Second World War, the spirits factory had to be closed. Today, Albert Michler Distillery Int. Ltd is based in Bristol in the south of England. The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserva 1863 impressively revives Albert Michler's legacy and history. Austrian Empire Navy 18 Jahre Solera Rum 0,7L 40%
Austrian Empire Navy 18 Jahre Solera Rum 0,7L 40%
Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 Years 0.7L 40% History and Production of Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 The name Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 seems odd at first glance. What does Austria have to do with Navy Rum, and what does Solera actually mean? The answer is less complicated than you might think. But let's start at the beginning: Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 is bottled and sold by the Albert Michler Distillery in Bristol, England. However, this globally operating company originated in Buchsdorf, which at the time of its founding in 1863 belonged to Austrian Silesia. The Albert Michler Liqueur, Rum and Spirits Factory, as the company was then called, sold not only the world-famous Buchsdorfer herbal bitters but also numerous overseas rums, which were acquired in the Caribbean and subsequently transported to Silesia. The first part of the name thus refers to the origins of the Albert Michler Distillery in the Austrian Empire. From 1655 onwards, sailors in the Royal Navy received a quarter liter of rum twice a day as payment. This so-called *tot* was served by the purser and served to prevent mutinies and disinfect the water on board. This tradition was maintained for 300 years, although the quantities of rum were gradually reduced. The rums served were usually blends from different distilleries. The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 is a blend of different Caribbean rums from the Dominican Republic, thus honoring the old tradition dating back to the time of the Royal Navy. The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 is aged for at least 18 years in selected oak barrels using the elaborate Solera method. Rums of different ages are blended together throughout the entire maturation process to achieve a particularly complex aroma and a full-bodied flavor. The Master Blender combines the individual rums to achieve the desired flavor profile. This is extremely time-consuming and requires a great deal of experience and dedication. Taste of Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 has a wonderful aroma of ripe fruits. Bananas, mangoes, and oranges are predominant. These are complemented by notes of vanilla, caramel, raisins, and plums. The taste of the Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 is smooth and well-rounded, without any alcoholic burn. Sweet barrel aromas, especially toffee, candied apples, and cotton candy, are accompanied by bitter notes such as dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is long and lingering, with a robust oak spice and hints of tobacco. The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18 is an outstanding sipping rum with great strength and elegance that should bring much joy to every connoisseur.
