A Navy Rum from Austria
A navy from Austria? There actually was one in the 18th century for the occupations of the Mediterranean in Italy and the Balkan states.
The company responsible for the rum, the Alber Michler Liqueur and Rum Factory, was founded in 1850 in Buchsdorf, which was then in Silesia and Austria. When it was founded, it mainly imported original Jamaica rum and later became a purveyor to the Austrian royal family. Rum is still imported from the Caribbean today, although the company is now based in Bristol, England.

Austrian Empire Navy Rum Anniversary 0,7L 40%
Austrian Empire Navy Rum Anniversary 0,7L 40%
Austrian Empire Navy Rum Anniversary 0.7L 40% Where does Austrian Rum actually come from? Caribbean, Austria or perhaps England? If you look into the history behind Austrian Rum, you'll find that all three are correct. It doesn't originally come from Europe, but was delivered to Austria by the Albert Michler Distillery in Barbados, Caribbean, to supply the Austrian royal family in the 19th century. It was only many years later that the company was reopened by successors in Bristol, Great Britain. Many special editions from various rum producers or bottlers have been produced specifically for a special occasion, be it a brand anniversary, a political or seasonal event, or national celebrations. This also applies to Austrian's Empire Navy Rum Anniversary. It was specially produced for the 100th anniversary of the separation of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Aromatically, this blend has a lot to offer. By combining barrel contents of different ages, a good balance has been created. The nose reveals an extremely round aroma with seductive notes of vanilla and fresh fruit as well as a hint of Caribbean influence, coconut. In the taste, the fruity notes are then clearly recognizable as tropical fruits with a very pleasant sweetness. A hint of dark chocolate coating also resonates in the background. The pleasantly subtle sweetness is also present in the finish, leaving a warm, long finish together with spicy wood notes.

Espero Extra Anejo XO 0,7L 40%
Espero Extra Anejo XO 0,7L 40%
Espero Extra Anejo XO 0.7L 40% Espero Extra Anejo The blend is a combination of 12 to 18 year old molasses rum from the Dominican Republic with 6 to 12 year old solera rum. The latter comes from various Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, Barbados or Trinidad. After the marriage of these already fantastic rums, the rum is stored for an impressive 18 years during which time it develops into an aromatic, slightly smoky rum with tropical fruit notes. The name alone indicates that this product is very exclusive. The term 'Espero' comes from Spanish and means something like 'hope'; the hope for a particularly fine drop is fully fulfilled here in any case. The abbreviation XO, which is already known from other spirits such as cognac, also stands for the particularly long maturation, i.e. 'Extra Old'. Variety of flavors As soon as you open the bottle you are convinced that you are holding a special curd in your hands. Delicate, but also smoky with recognizable fruit notes and spices. The entire flavor profile then becomes clear on the palate. It is creamy and soft on the palate. Honey aromas and the Caribbean influence of tropical fruits are recognizable first. This is followed by notes reminiscent of leather, which, accompanied by citrus and coconut notes, create a great picture. The long-lasting finish has slightly peppery spice notes that leave a warming feeling.

Michlers Jamaican Artisanal Dark Rum 0,7L 40% inkl. Tasse
Michlers Jamaican Artisanal Dark Rum 0,7L 40% inkl. Tasse
Michler's Jamaican Artisanal Dark Rum 0.7L 40% incl. cup The origins of the British distillery lie in Silesia, an area that was once part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and is now mostly in Poland. In 1863, Albert Michler founded his liqueur and spirits factory in Buchsdorf and quickly made a name for himself throughout the empire and kingdom for his distillates. In addition to local herbal distillates, his products also included imported rums from the Caribbean, and he was one of the first traders to bring exotic spirits to Europe. One outstanding recognition was his appointment as official supplier to the imperial and royal court, making Michler the rum supplier to the royal army. Although the distillery is now based in England, the spirit of the founder lives on in the bottles. The dark rum is made from various distillates, with the mash always coming from original Jamaican sugar cane. The rum from this mash is distilled using the traditional pot still method, which is done in batches due to the small stills and increases the quality of the distilled product. After 5 to 25 years of maturation in white oak barrels, the Artisanal Dark Rum is blended by experienced Caribbean distillers. The result is a wonderful dark rum that clearly shows its Jamaican origins. The distillate is round, balanced and yet strong in taste, thanks to the spirits that are up to 25 years old. It combines spicy wood notes from the oak barrels, fruity-sweet grapes and appealing nuances of sugar cane molasses to create a harmonious, dark beauty.
