A Navy Rum from Austria
A navy from Austria? There actually was one in the 18th century for the occupations of the Mediterranean in Italy and the Balkan states.
The company responsible for the rum, the Alber Michler Liqueur and Rum Factory, was founded in 1850 in Buchsdorf, which was then in Silesia and Austria. When it was founded, it mainly imported original Jamaica rum and later became a purveyor to the Austrian royal family. Rum is still imported from the Caribbean today, although the company is now based in Bristol, England.
Interesting facts about the Empire Navy Rum Reserve Double Cask Cognac
This fresh, elegant Barbados Blended Rum is a finely balanced blend made up of rums of different ages that have been stored in American and French oak barrels. The oldest representative in this blend is up to 23 years old. The long storage and the mix of different products resulted in an intense and quite complex aroma and its fine mahogany tone was also influenced by the barrel aging.
