6 O´Clock Sloe Gin 0,05L 26%
6 O´Clock Sloe Gin 0,05L 26%

6 O'Clock Sloe Gin Miniatures 0.05L 26%Almost 30 years ago, Edward and Penny Kain ran a fruit farm and began producing fruit liqueurs on the side, which quickly gained popularity. Based on their first gin recipe, they developed an aromatic sloe gin. A few years later, their children, Michael and Felicity, took over the successful distillery. Drawing on their knowledge of the family tradition of liqueur making, they further refined the gin recipe. The result is the distinctive 6 O'Clock Gin, which impresses with its refreshingly clean taste thanks to carefully selected botanicals and a perfectly balanced recipe. 6 O'Clock Sloe Gin uses London Dry Gin as its base, which is refined with plenty of hand-picked sloe berries and a perfectly balanced amount of sugar. The mixture is then gently macerated for at least six months – significantly longer than at most other distilleries. The high ratio of sloe berries to gin and the long maturation period ensure a particularly smooth, intensely fruity flavor that beautifully preserves the fresh, slightly tart note of the sloe berries.

Ableforths Bathtub Sloe Gin 0,5L 33,8%

Ableforths Bathtub Sloe Gin 0.5L 33.8% Bathtub Gin If you translate 'Bathtub Gin' literally, this gin means 'bathtub gin' and is an allusion to the time of Prohibition in America. During this time, alcohol lovers tried everything possible to get their hands on a fine tipple. In the 1920s, many tried their hand at this field as amateurs. There were many poor quality variants, often consisting of a mixture of cheap wheat distillate and water, to which additional flavors had been added. If the bottles available at the time were too big to be filled under the sink, people would resort to the bathtub tap and often the alcohol was distilled in the bathtub at home. This is how the name 'Bathtub Gin' came about. The Bathtub Sloe Gin by Ableforth is a special edition of the Bathtub Gin. The gin is produced using the cold-compounded distilling process. It is a process that has almost been forgotten. It does not use heat and therefore achieves a much better aromatic fullness. The packaging of each bottle is special: Each bottle is wrapped by hand, tied and dipped in wax. Professor Cornelius Ableforth, who is behind this impressive gin, has selected a number of herbs and spices to combine with the sloes, including coriander, cinnamon, cloves and orange zest. The Bathtub Sloe Gin As soon as you open the bottle you are surprised by an incredibly fruity aroma. In combination with the spices used, the gin creates an association with freshly baked cake. The taste then surprises you with marzipan and juniper aromas. Berries, citrus fruit and vanilla meet oak and tannin to create a harmonious taste. Bathtub Sloe Gin impresses with a spicy and long finish. You should simply enjoy this sloe gin neat, best chilled in summer and warm in winter for a change.

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Creme D'Ardeche Chestnut 0,5L 16%

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Creme Chataigne D'Ardeche (chestnut) 0.5L 16% Aelred These products under the new name 'Aelred' also come from the already well-known French spirits and liqueur brand Eyguebelle. The A and E are written together, 'Ælred', and are intended to represent the development of the company and the transition from Aiguebelle to Eyguebelle. Once you know that Eyguebelle translates as 'beautiful water', the new brand name also makes sense and is something like the spiritual version, Aelred stands for 'spirit of the source'. Liqueur 1889 Creme Ardeche Chestnut For the Chestnut Liqueur, only chestnuts from the Ardèche are used. It must be clearly mentioned here again that the term 'chestnut' refers to an edible variety. Sweet chestnuts (marrons) or chestnuts are relatives of the 'horse chestnut' that you know from the large parks. These are in fact inedible and some are poisonous. The fruits that are used in the liqueur come from specially grafted trees whose fruits are suitable for consumption. In terms of taste, the Chestnut Liqueur moves between sweet caramel notes and the nutty character of the chestnuts and is incredibly soft on the palate. It is particularly good as an accompaniment to cocktails, but it also shows its nutty aroma in the kitchen, for refining sauces or over vanilla ice cream. In 2018, the Liqueur 1889 Creme Ardeche Chestnut even won the gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris and the silver medal in 2020.

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Crème de Cassis de la Drôme 0.5L 16% Since 1889 – Aelred The monks who lived here at the beginning of the monastery's history developed their own recipes for various spirits. To this day, these are of great importance for production and some of the products on the market are still made according to the monks' recipes. Production also follows a closely guarded process, which preserves the unique character and typical taste. Sometimes up to three different processes are used in one product: maceration, distillation or infusion. Crèmes de Fruits The Crème de Fruits range consists of a total of eight products. All products are based on the same principle: Fruit teas are combined with alcohol and cane sugar to create a fine liqueur with intense fruit notes. You can serve the Crème de Cassis with white wine or, for the sparkling version, with Prosecco.

Aelred liqueur 1889 Creme de Mûre Sauvage (blackberry) 0.5L 16% In the footsteps of the old monks They were gifted experts in the world of herbs and plants and only in this way could the products made from plants, sugar and alcohol not only convince with their unmistakable taste, they were even said to have a digestive and invigorating effect. It all began with these plant liqueurs, which have such a long tradition, require masterly expertise that has been passed down from generation to generation and of course the most important factor: time. Today, in addition to the original products, the range also includes others, such as modern liqueurs with a low alcohol content and special aromas, anise liqueurs such as the well-known French pastis, fruit aperitifs and liqueurs. Liqueur or crème? In Aelred's premium segment, we find a range of spirits that have the word 'crème' in their name. What exactly is the difference between this and a normal liqueur? The sugar content of crème is even higher than that of a normal liqueur. This means that the aromas are even more intense. For the Mûre Sauvage, or wild blackberries in English, only wild blackberries are used, as they have a more distinctive taste than traditionally cultivated blackberries.

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Elixer Coiron Jaune 0,7L 43%

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Elixer Coiron Jaune 0.7L 43% The recipes for the spirits are sacred because they come from the old Cistercian monks who once lived there. The original recipe for 'l'Elixir de Vie', for example, dates back to 1239. Benedictus von Nuraien from the Villeneuve de Berg Abbey created it. Some of the other recipes for the spirits that are still available today also date back to the early days of the monastery and have been meticulously passed down from generation to generation. Tasting advice for herbal liqueurs of this quality Take the comparison with tasting a good wine. Here, with wine in your mouth, you suck in some air. In contrast, the complexity of a good herbal liqueur can best be understood when you exhale. The CO2 awakens the taste buds, so to speak, calms them down and the aromatic notes develop much better.

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Elixer Coiron Vert 0,7L 45%

Aelred Liqueur 1889 Elixer Coiron Vert 0.7L 45% Ancient heritage The distillers have a whole arsenal of medicinal and aromatic plants at their disposal for the brand's herbal liqueurs. After production has resumed, it is first necessary to acquire specific knowledge, not only about the craftsmanship. The development of new recipes and the reworking of old ones also requires knowledge about the selection of mixtures, infusions or botanicals and, more generally, about the art of distilling. The fact that the recipes from back then were very sophisticated and were already of the highest quality is evident in the combination of herbs. Up to 55 different plants, including thyme, absinthe or myrtle, are used in a liqueur and harmonize perfectly with each other. Liqueur 1889 Elixer Coiron Vert Father Jean Bessier is the developer of this recipe. In 1889 he set about creating a very complex herbal liqueur that releases unexpected aromas when drunk. For this purpose, various botanicals were either infused and/or macerated. The liqueur is then stored or aged in old oak barrels that were previously used in the production of cognac or armagnac.
