Halloween drinks: spirits and cocktails for a spooky night
October 31st is Halloween. Although the folk custom originated in Catholic Ireland, the Americans have turned it into an exciting celebration with a creepy factor. The tradition has long since spilled over into Germany. If you want to throw a Halloween party yourself, you will need Halloween costumes, spooky decorations and Halloween spirits.
Halloween spirits and Halloween drinks: the best tips
Would you like to serve your guests alcoholic drinks on Halloween? Then don't just offer wine and beer. The party can be a little more original to do justice to the Halloween horror theme. Gin is the perfect base. Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger Gin, Mayfair London Dry or Hoos London Gin make an excellent base for cocktails such as the Jekyll & Gin (see recipe below). The clear gin can also be mixed well with fine juices if the guest prefers simpler drinks. The same principle applies to vodka. Kozuba Pure Grain or Crystal Head are just as suitable for mixing as they are for consumption on their own. The Deadhead Dark Chocolate Monkey liqueur is always an eye-catcher. Why? Its bottle is the perfect Halloween decoration because it is black and has the shape of a spooky monkey's head. And the contents also impress with flavors of coffee, butterscotch and dark chocolate. This Halloween drink contains 35% alcohol by volume. You can serve it well chilled in small glasses between meals or after dinner.

Halloween Punch Recipes and Halloween Cocktail
Whether you have four or 40 guests, Halloween punch recipes are a hit at any Halloween party. The drink presented here tastes anything but spooky and delights with an exciting play of colors – perfect for the night of ghosts and the dead. For 4 glasses of 200 ml each of Vodka Punch + Blue Curacao, you will need the following Halloween spirits:
• 4 tablespoons sugar
• a bit of black food coloring gel
• 50 ml vodka
• 100 ml Blue Curacao
• 150 ml cranberry juice
• 50 ml grenadine syrup
• 75 ml sweet & sour syrup
• ice cubes
1. Put on disposable gloves. Rub the sugar and food coloring between your hands to create gray sugar.
2. Mix the vodka, Blue Curacao, cranberry juice, grenadine, and 50 ml sweet & sour syrup.
3. Pour 3–4 tablespoons of sweet & sour syrup onto a small, flat plate.
4. Place the gray sugar on another flat plate.
5. Dip the rims of the glasses into the syrup. Let them drip briefly and then, without turning the glass over, dip the syrup-coated rims directly into the sugar. Lightly tap off the excess sugar and fill the glasses with ice. Pour the drink into the glasses and serve immediately.
The Halloween cocktail Jekyll & Gin is a variation of the well-known Gin Daisy, which fascinates guests with stunning color effects. In daylight, it shimmers coral. Turn on the blacklight, and it glows white. For this, you will need these Halloween spirits:
• 90 ml gin
• 15 ml lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon grenadine
• a handful of ice
• tonic water
1. Add the gin, lemon juice, and grenadine to a cocktail shaker and mix well.
2. Pour the mix into a large glass filled with ice.
3. Top up the drink with tonic water and add a glow stick for garnish.
