Spirits on New Year's Eve
Spirits for a good start to the new year
Fireworks. Doughnuts. Lead pouring. The last day of the year is full of customs. Of course, New Year's Eve should not be without spirits to accompany the celebrations in style. To entertain guests in the best possible way, there is an exquisite selection of drinks to suit every taste. They can also be used to create festive cocktails on New Year's Eve.
New Year's Eve spirits: the best drinks for toasting
The old year is drawing to a close. Around the world, this is an occasion to throw a big New Year's Eve party or celebrate with family and friends in a small circle. No matter how many guests are present, it should be festive. The question quickly arises when planning New Year's Eve: What drink should we toast with? It should be something special, after all, it is the last day of the year. An exquisite single malt whisky, which is particularly mild and gentle on the palate, is particularly suitable for a dignified New Year's Eve party with a select group of friends. Gin is perfect for small and large parties. It can be served neat or with ice. Absinthe is another party hit, as it evokes the frivolous exuberance of the 1920s. Vodka and rum are absolute must-haves in a well-stocked bar cabinet. They have an immense fan base. If a festive dinner is served on December 31, it is good style to offer guests a digestif. A very old port wine is now the right choice. A glass of this time-honored drop is a wonderful way to reminisce about the past. What a successful start to the year ahead!
New Year's Eve Cocktails: Impress Guests with Stylish Drinks
Cocktails on New Year's Eve are a hit at any party. The key is to always pay attention to the quality of the ingredients. Just like with food, a mixed drink can only be as good as the ingredients used. Here are two cocktail suggestions for New Year's Eve that are particularly suitable for this festive occasion because they are both sparkling and decorative.
Midnight Mojito
- 75 ml white rum
- a few mint leaves
- 38 g frozen blackberries
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- mineral water
- ice cubes
The Midnight Mojito is also great for larger parties because it can be prepared in advance. Mix the frozen blackberries, sugar, and rum, and chill for about two hours. To serve, first put ice cubes and then the rum mixture into a tumbler. Top it off with mineral water and garnish with mint sprigs.
The second cocktail suggestion is perfect for New Year's Eve because it contains caffeine. This way, all guests can stay awake and enjoy the party past midnight.
Espresso Martini
- 4 cl vodka
- 4 cl coffee liqueur
- 4 cl espresso (cooled)
- 1 cl Galliano Vanilla
- 3 dashes of chocolate bitters
- ice cubes
Combine all ingredients with ice cubes in a shaker. After a good, thorough shake, strain the drink into a chilled martini glass.
Cheers to the New Year!
