Ocucaje Distillery

The distillery was founded in 1898 and has been family-owned for 80 years. The production processes and recipes are based on those of the early days, with only minor changes being made as part of technical adjustments.

What exactly is Pisco?

Pisco is a brandy made from grape must and is the national drink in Chile and Peru. This drink has been around for over 400 years, although Chile and Peru reserve the right that a drink may only be called Pisco if it comes from one of the two countries. The difference to Italian grappa is that it is made from pomace and not from must, and this must is the only ingredient used to make Pisco.

Ocucaje is made from the Pisco Italia grape, which is not to be confused with the Italian table grape of the same name, because Pisco Italia is much older than this. Because only one type of grape is used, Ocucaje is a non-aromatic distillate.

Taste

Interesting notes of citrus fruits and orange blossoms unfold on the nose. These notes are supported by a subtle caramel tone. The taste is very elegant and pleasantly soft. You quickly notice the special taste of the sweet, fruity grapes. They bring with them a fresh and warming aroma. Even in the aftertaste, you can enjoy the variety of aromas for a long time, because here all the aromas are expressed once again.

Ocucaje Pisco Mosto Verde Italia can be enjoyed neat or in a variety of log drinks and mixed drinks. The most well-known cocktails with Pisco are Pisco Sour and Pisco Punch.
