Hype about juniper spirits

The constantly increasing range of different gins seems to have no end. More and more spirits producers, primarily many small distilleries, seem to be riding the wave and are happy to deviate from the path of 'normal' gin production and create their very own gin world.
This is how the producers of Nordés have managed to stand out from the crowd on the big market. Because instead of using an alcohol made from grain or molasses as a base, as is usual, they have conjured up a completely new gin from grapes. This convinces with a rather sweet, fruity aroma, which is of course still flavored with juniper in particular.

100% Galicia

Nordés Atlantic Galician Gin is produced in Vedra, in Galicia, Spain. It is not just the location of production that contributes to a 100% Galician product, because the products used also all come from the Galicia region. And unlike most other types of gin, the base alcohol here is not a grain distillate, but wine from the regional white grape variety Albariño.
This gin is distilled four times, with the final distillation taking place in one of the traditional copper stills, in which the 12 different botanicals of the Nordés Atlantic Galician Gin also melt with the base alcohol.
The design of the bottle alone gives you hope for a fascinating gin. And that is exactly what it is. With a combination of botanicals such as eucalyptus, hibiscus, quinine, seaweed, broom, cardamom, liquorice and ginger, this gin has a very special note that leaves the typical juniper taste far in the background.
This offers a very pleasant, fresh and very floral taste. A light spiciness accompanies the harmonious mixture of eucalyptus, sage, tea and spices together with juniper, which probably comes from the ginger used. Due to its surprising mildness, this gin is particularly convincing when drunk neat.

Monkey 47 Dry Gin, 0,5 L, 47%
Monkey 47 Dry Gin 0.5L 47% Gin from the Black Forest The history of Monkey 47 is a success story. The self-proclaimed Black Forest Dry Gin was introduced in May 2010 and quickly gained international renown. It can now be found in the best bars and restaurants in Spain and Great Britain. The history of Monkey 47 No good product without a good story. This is also the case with Monkey 47. According to legend, the British Royal Air Force soldier Montgomery "Monty" Collins ended up in the Black Forest after a stay in Berlin. As the diplomat's son Montgomery spent his childhood in India, he had a great affinity for exotic flora and fauna. This also explains why he adopted a Java monkey from the Berlin Zoo before leaving Berlin. After arriving in the Black Forest, he opened an inn there and named it "Zum wilden Affen" in reference to his adopted monkey. As a British gentleman, Montgomery naturally did not want to do without the most British of all drinks - gin - in his inn. For this reason, he developed a recipe with 47 botanicals. These herbs and spices were based on his own life story and so he combined traditional gin aromatics, such as juniper, with exotic botanicals from India and pure and original aromas from herbs native to the Black Forest. In the 1960s, all trace of Montgomery was lost and with him the recipe for the gin. It was not until the turn of the millennium that an old box with the recipe was rediscovered in the attic of the inn. Alexander Stein, the managing director of the Blackforest distillery, quickly recognised the potential of the recipe and began making initial attempts to produce the gin according to the old recipe. He finally succeeded and so the Monkey 47 Black Forest Dry Gin saw the light of day again. The taste of Monkey 47 All of the botanicals used in Monkey 47 are hand-picked and of exceptional quality. Particularly noteworthy is the use of fresh blueberries, which give the gin an incomparable aroma. After distillation, the gin matures for 100 days in ancient stoneware jugs, which allow oxygen to be exchanged with the environment through fine pores. This allows the aromas in the product to harmonise particularly well. Finally, the gin is reduced with extremely soft spring water to a drinking strength of 47% vol. This old-school gin has a wonderful bouquet of cranberries, spruce needles and cucumber and lime aromas. The aftertaste is characterized by fine floral nuances and remains in the memory for a long time. A great product!

Generous Gin 0,7L 44%

Generous Gin 0.7L 44% History and production of Generous Gin: New releases on the gin market do not have it easy. Due to the large number of competitors, you can only be successful if your own product has one or, better yet, several unique selling points. This is undeniably the case with Generous Gin. The exceptional botanicals, the elegant design and the origin make this gin something very special. Generous Gin comes from the French city of Cognac. This alone promises exclusivity. In addition to juniper berries, lemons and limes, pink berries, blood oranges, pepper and elderberries are used as botanicals. Another special feature is the different uses of the ingredients. Some are macerated directly in the alcohol, others are passed through by alcohol vapor during the distillation process. This means that the natural aroma is absorbed very well and integrated into the gin. In addition to the unique production process and the quality of the taste, the Generous Gin places great value on an elegant, stylish appearance. The white bottle has a noble, velvety surface, which is decorated with black patterns and feels extremely valuable in the hand. This underlines the Generous Gin's quality standards and makes it a real eye-catcher in every bar. This is exactly the design you would expect from a gin made in France. Tasting the Generous Gin: There can hardly be anything worse for the connoisseur than when the taste and quality of a product do not live up to what the marketing or the elaborate packaging promises. Even if the Generous Gin clearly focuses on its appearance, the aromatic and taste profile is convincing all around. The nose initially reveals fruity aromas. Lemons, oranges and juniper berries are accompanied by floral notes of elderberry and an interesting spiciness. The Generous Gin succeeds perfectly in combining the different components in their aroma and intensity and creating a harmonious, balanced overall picture. On the tongue, the Generous Gin is extremely soft and mild, almost velvety, which creates an additional connection with the bottle design. As with the aroma, the taste is also dominated by fruity notes. Juniper berries and citrus fruits, plus orange blossom, coriander and green pepper. The finish of the Generous Gin is much spicier and more herbal. Overall, the Generous Gin can be described as quite successful. The combination of fruitiness and spiciness works very well. The harmonious interplay of the aromas also makes the Genrous Gin versatile. The unusual design is also extremely visually appealing.
